Chapter Ten

Aphrodite

Shit! I was twenty-one minutes late. I straightened up the hand of my hand bag as I placed my phone in it, and legs aching as I walked because of the vigorous activity of last night. “Beast!” I muttered as I wished for the elevator to move a bit faster.

The movement of the elevator stopped, and the door opened, giving me a view of the conference room door standing steps apart from me. Inhaling a deep breath, I moved away, stopping the door from closing automatically. My heels clicked on the tiled floor, and I stopped, wondering if I should pull it off before continuing, laughing at my bizarre thought.

I got to the door, rested my ear on it, but couldn’t hear a word. Moving away, I made a sign of cross before pushing the door open. It refused to open as I struggle between with it. It was heavy, and my small hand and weight did little Justice to it.

Adjusting my bag well, I pushed forward with my hands. The door opened abruptly making me fall forward. Everyone
