With no other presence in the house, I focused my attention on the body lying in a weird position, one of his legs was stuck behind his butt, the other bent awkwardly by the knee. His left hand lay a few inches from his head, while the right rested on his stomach.

"Jace?"

I was so scared for him to put into mind how he'd react to me calling him by his first name.

Jace had shown how far he'd go to push me away by changing my room the very next day he commanded I address him as an alpha.

I must say, I was hurt when I realized he cleared out my room and shifted my stuff to a smaller one at the end of the ground floor hallway.

The window view of my new room wasn't as great as the previous one that overlooked the woods, this one gave a view of the mansion's thick and heavy two-leaf brass gates.

"Jace? Can you hear me? Wake up!" I shook his shoulders but knew he couldn't hear a thing, judging from how relaxed the taut muscles on his shoulders were.
