Michael’s POV

The fluorescent lights in the Kafé Verse parking lot flickered like they were tired too.

I stood beside the back exit with my hands in my jacket pockets, the last echoes of laughter still bouncing between the walls behind us.

The doors had just clunked shut as we finished locking up for the night, the quiet click of Mateo’s keys signaling the end of a long day.

“It’s weird not dreading tomorrow,” Mateo said, shoving his hands deep into his hoodie as a gust of wind swept through. “Like, we actually get to come in and not worry about Eliot breathing down our necks.”

I let out a quiet breath.

“I still can’t believe we did that.”

“I can,” Ivy said, falling into step beside me. Her black boots crunched softly over the ground. “It was overdue.”

Mateo let out a bitter laugh.

“The guy has been treating us like garbage for months. I think I speak for all of us when I say he had it coming.”

“Big time,” Liam agreed. “You should have seen him go white when you told him off, Mich

Fernando’s POVMichael’s fists hit the door again. The sound tore through me sharper than any gunshot that night.“Let me out, Fernando!” he shouted. “You have no right to lock me in like this!”I stopped walking on the other side of the door, my hand clenched into a fist, my forehead pressed against the wall for a brief, unforgivable second to ground my thoughts. His anger vibrated through the walls, raw and unfiltered, and I hated that I could hear the pain beneath it.I forced myself to straighten.“No,” I said firmly. “You’re not leaving that room.”A bitter laugh followed. I thought he would calm down but it seemed he only needed one second to turn distasteful.“So that’s it? You decide when I breathe now?”My jaw tightened. “I decide when you’re safe.”“You don’t get to decide anything for me anymore!” he snapped. “You lost that right the moment you lied to me.”The words hit harder. I closed my eyes, inhaled slowly, and reminded myself why I was doing this.“Michael,” I said,

Michael's POVThe weight of the gun felt wrong in my hand.I stared at it for half a second, at the cold metal pressed against my palm, at the way my finger rested against the trigger and something in me recoiled. A voice in my head screamed that this wasn’t me, that this wasn’t who I was supposed to be but then I looked at Fernando and that voice drowned. He stood there, stunned, breathing shallowly, his dark eyes fixed on the weapon pointed at his chest. The man who had wrapped his arms around me only hours ago, the man who had sworn vows to me, the man who had promised to bring Santiago to me and failed.I tightened my grip and even I was shocked at myself but I didn’t lower the gun.“Move,” I said again, my voice hoarse. “I’m not joking.”Fernando swallowed. I saw his throat move, saw the way his jaw clenched as he struggled to hold himself still. His hands were open at his sides, deliberately relaxed, as if he were trying not to provoke me.“Michael,” he said softly, dangerousl

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   When Love Turns On Me

Fernando's POVThe door closed behind me with a sound that felt final.Michael stood in the center of the room, his shoulders rigid, his hands clenched so tightly I could see the tension ripple through his arms. I took a slow step forward. “Michael—”He spun around so fast the air seemed to crack.“Where is he?” His voice was sharp, raw, vibrating with fury that hadn’t yet found a target strong enough to bleed. “Where is Santiago?”I didn’t answer immediately. I already knew that hesitation would cost me, but I also knew that the truth would cost me more. His eyes flicked over my body and my blood-stained sleeve, the faint bruise darkening my jaw, the stiffness in my posture. The realization hit him instantly and his face changed.Hope didn’t fade and it collapsed.“You didn’t get him,” he said quietly. The softness in his voice scared me more than his anger ever could.“No,” I admitted. “He escaped.”The silence that followed was deafening then Michael laughed. It was short, bitter

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Waiting Behind Locked Doors

Michael’s POVThe room felt too small for my thoughts.I paced from one end to the other, my footsteps sharp against the marble floor, back and forth like a caged animal. Every step echoed too loudly in my ears, every second stretching until it felt like torture. The walls were thick, reinforced, meant to protect, but all they did was trap me with the sounds of gunfire bleeding through stone and steel.Gunshots sounded in the distance. Not close enough for me to see, but not far enough for me to ignore.Ashley sat on the couch with Henry pulled close to her side. She had one arm wrapped around his shoulders, the other gently rubbing circles into his back. Henry’s face was pale, his small fingers clenched tightly in the fabric of her dress like letting go would send him spiraling into something worse. He was trying to be brave and that made it harder.Emilio stood by the door, unmoving, his gun held low but ready, his eyes sharp as he scanned the perimeter outside the window. He loo

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Ashes at the Altar

Fernando's POVThe moment Emilio led Michael away, the air around me turned cold.I wanted to chase them down the corridor, pull Michael into my arms, press my forehead to his and tell him this would end soon, that I would fix everything like I always did.But I didn’t because if I did, if I hesitated even for a second, Santiago would take more than a wedding from me.He would take everything.Gunfire ripped through the night again, closer now, sharper, more deliberate. The sound wasn’t chaotic or panicked, it was measured.I inhaled slowly, deeply, forcing the fury threatening to tear me apart back into its cage.“Get ready,” I ordered, my voice steady even as my pulse thundered.Marlo didn’t hesitate, he never did. Orders flowed instantly through the earpieces, his voice clipped and precise as he coordinated the perimeter teams. Mortis moved like a living shadow toward the eastern corridor, already anticipating where Santiago’s men would strike next. Nick came up beside me, silent

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Blood on White Roses

Fernando’s POVI hated this version of him.I hated the way Michael’s eyes had gone dark like someone had poured gasoline over a fire that had never fully gone out.I had seen that look once before, when he had thought though Andrew attempted to kill Ashley. Back then, rage had been the only thing anchoring him to life.It had almost destroyed him and I had sworn, on my soul, on my power, on everything I was, that I would never let him return to that place again.A gunshot cracked through the air, so loud and close it rattled the chandelier above us. Another burst followed, bullets slamming into reinforced walls and steel barriers. The sound echoed violently through the hall, transforming laughter and vows into screams and terror within minutes. My wedding day had been ruined by Santiago.I dragged in a sharp breath, forcing myself out of my spiraling thoughts. If I lost control, people would die and not just Santiago’s men.“Positions!” I shouted, my voice cutting through the noise
