Michael’s POV

I pushed open the door to my bedroom, Henry’s warm breath still resting on the back of my neck.

I helped him into the bed, my bed, and tucked the blanket up to his chin.

He looked so small lying there, the dark circles under his eyes almost swallowing his innocent face whole.

“You’re safe here,” I whispered. “No one’s going to hurt you.”

Henry’s breathing evened out. I brushed a hand over his soft hair, something almost paternal stirring in me—a feeling I didn’t know I was capable of.

When I was sure he was fully asleep, I stood carefully, the old wooden floorboards groaning under my weight.

The house was eerily quiet as I stepped back into the hall, but it wasn’t the comforting kind of silence.

It was the tense, suffocating kind—like the air right before a storm breaks.

I found Ashley in the sitting room. She was perched on the armrest of the couch, scrolling through her phone, but her head snapped up the moment she heard me.

“How is he?” she asked, her voice tig

Fernando’s POV The look on Michael’s face was priceless. He opened the door, expecting a peaceful morning in their quiet little apartment, and instead, he found me standing right there, hands in my coat pockets, breathing in the sterile scent of the hallway like I had all the time in the world. Behind me, Marlo stood like a shadow, Mortis leaned against the wall, and Emilio checked his phone with half-interest. The rest of the security team had melted into the background like useful watchdogs. I liked when they did that—reminded everyone just how powerful I still was.Michael’s eyes widened like he was seeing a ghost.“Fernando?” he breathed.Ashley peeked out from behind him, and even she froze like she had seen a spirit.“What the hell—how are you even out of the hospital?” Michael asked, half pulling the door closed like he might slam it shut if I answered wrong.I chuckled. “Nice to see you too, Mikey. Can’t a man visit his favorite people without being interrogated like a fug

Michael's POV The early morning sunlight streamed through the kitchen windows, warming the wooden floor beneath my feet as I stepped into Ashley’s cozy kitchen with a mug of coffee in hand. The scent of cinnamon and burnt sugar lingered faintly in the air—Ashley’s failed cookie experiment. She wasn’t going to live that one down anytime soon.I promised to do what she did to me when I would invite her over to my place for dinner and I would mistakenly burn our food and we ended up ordering pizza. It was my time to pay her back.I took a slow sip from my mug and smiled to myself. Today was the day. A break from the heaviness, the confusion, and the unspoken pain that had hovered over all of us like storm clouds. We were going on a road trip—not far, just enough to escape the routine and, hopefully, give Henry something to smile about again. The plan had been in motion for a couple days. I had already talked to Henry’s school principal and explained that he needed a few days off, not

Fernando’s POV I stared out the hospital window, the city skyline a blur beneath the filtered glass. Rain tapped lightly against the pane like a small beat for my spiraling thoughts. The world moved on outside while I remained trapped just like an unwilling ghost inside a hospital room that smelled of antiseptic and false hope. My bed was cold, my body stiff, but what haunted me most was the absence of memory—ten months wiped clean like some cruel punishment I hadn’t earned.Trying to think.lf what had happened in all those times was even worse and although Marlo had tried to give me an explanation the best way he could, I still felt it wasn't enough.Michael had also tried his best, however, hearing the words out of his mouth that we were no longer living together was too much of a blow and I subconsciously blocked out the other things he was saying. Michael. The name hit harder than it should have as I layed on my bed now.I missed him.I hated that I missed a human this much.

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Echoes He Can’t Remember

Michael’s POV The sky had turned that deep shade of velvet blue—the kind of blue that hinted at an ending and a beginning all at once. The house was quiet, too quiet. I sat by the kitchen counter, a cup of untouched tea in my hands, staring blankly at the floor tiles like they might give me answers I couldn’t find in my own head. Ashley walked in a few minutes later, barefoot, her oversized hoodie hanging off one shoulder, and her dark curls tied into a lazy bun. She was holding her phone loosely by her side, the screen still glowing from whatever she had just read. Her face told me before she even spoke that something was wrong. “Any news?” I asked, my voice gravelly from the hour or maybe the weight in my chest. She leaned on the doorframe for a second, then crossed over to me, sitting at the stool beside mine. “The hospital called. Fernando’s waking hours are more frequent now.” I nodded slowly. “And…?” I asked already hoping for something more than I already knew, o

Archer’s POV I leaned back in my chair, finally allowing the tension to melt from my shoulders. If anyone had told me being a CEO of numerous companies in one of the most bustling cities in the US would be like this, I might have just decided to be like one of those rich men who stayed at home and partied all day. I couldn’t do that. I thrived on the adrenaline rush of being the center of attention and always winning, even though I was already exhausted. The boardroom was quiet now. The digital projector still hummed softly, casting ghostly light against the far wall, but the last of the investors had cleared out ten minutes ago. The meeting had gone well—on paper. Numbers were up, projections stable. But nothing about the triumph settled right in my chest. Not today. I had just reached for my glass of whiskey when my phone buzzed. It was Harold calling. My butler rarely called. Texts, yes, for calendar adjustments, reminders, clothing suggestions—but calls? That usually mea

Michael’s POV Evening had long fallen, cloaking the city in shadows and silence. Inside the waiting room, the silence felt deeper. Henry’s soft breathing filled the air, his small chest rising and falling against mine in gentle rhythm. He was fast asleep, sprawled across my lap, his head tucked under my chin, his curly hair tickling my neck. One of his hands clutched the front of my shirt, like he knew if he let go, I might disappear. We had been waiting here for hours, and it had taken its toll on the poor kid. “Hang in there, bud… just a little longer" I rubbed Henry’s back gently, whispering. The door creaked open, and a nurse peeked in. “Mr. Carter?” she said softly. “The doctor says you can go in now. Mr. Ramirez is awake.” My heart stuttered in my chest. Finally. I adjusted Henry carefully and stood up, his weight still curled against me like a little sloth. His small arms instinctively looped around my neck. I nodded at the nurse, thanked her quietly, and followe
