Michael's POV

The chill of the air conditioning grazed my arms as I leaned against the side of a one of the shelves near the entrance of the store.

The hum of fluorescent lights overhead buzzed faintly, mingling with the shuffle of people moving around buying things, crinkling chip bags, and pop music playing too cheerfully in the background.

Henry was a few aisles down, his dark curls bobbing as he considered an overwhelming wall of colorful snacks with the seriousness of a world leader.

He took his sweet time, flipping bags over, reading labels like he actually cared about the sodium content. That kid was too precious.

"We don't have all day," Fernando muttered beside me, arms crossed over his broad chest.

I had stayed quiet for a little while after saying I wanted us to talk and I'm sure Fernando had gotten impatient.

I side-eyed him, gauging the twitch in his jaw. The man hated stores like this one that wasn't the usual hotspot for people in money like he waa.

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   The Motel Compromise

Fernando’s POV The sky had turned an inky blue when we finally pulled off the road. A blinking neon sign buzzed faintly in the distance, illuminating the weather-worn letters that read: Sunset Pines Motel. Its name sounded better than it looked. The parking lot was half-empty, cracked and littered with dried leaves that skittered across the pavement in the night breeze. One lonely streetlight flickered overhead like it had given up trying.Ashley killed the engine and I let out a sigh.I would’ve preferred a penthouse suite with glass walls, Egyptian cotton sheets, and room service with French wine. Not… whatever this was.Michael yawned as he came down, stretching his arms. He unbuckled Henry and brought his out of thr car.Michael glanced at me with a tired smile. “This place will do for the night. It’s not much, but it's enough.”“Enough?” I repeated, looking at the stained stucco walls of the motel. “This place looks like it’s one flickering bulb away from becoming a crime sce

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Shadows on the Road

Michael’s POV The car hummed gently as it cut through the long stretch of highway, the sun casting golden bars of light across the road.Henry sat beside me in the back seat, small hands folded tightly on his lap. His eyes, wide and downcast, stared blankly out the window, lips pressed into a thin, guilty line. He hadn’t said a word since Fernando and I had pulled him away from that hooded stranger and practically carried him back to the car.I could still see that man in my head. The hoodie pulled low, the way his stance leaned in just a bit too close to Henry. I hadn’t seen his face, none of us had, but my gut twisted every time I replayed that scene. And now we were back on the road—tense, silent, and on edge.I sighed, running a hand over my face before turning to Henry."Hey, buddy," I said softly, nudging him gently. "Can we talk?"He glanced at me, hesitant, then nodded."You know I’m not mad at you, right?"He looked up, lip trembling slightly. “But Dad is.”I winced. Yeah

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Legacy on the Line

Fernando’s POV The sound of gravel crunching beneath the tires jolted me out of my thoughts. We slowed to a stop at a run-down gas station, barely lit by flickering overhead lights. A crooked neon sign buzzed above the little convenience store, casting a pale red glow across the cracked pavement. It wasn’t the kind of place you would expect someone like me—or any member of the Ramirez family—to stop at, but Ashley had said we needed gas and a bathroom break. So, here we were.“Anyone who needs to use the restroom, now’s your chance,” Ashley called out as she opened her door and made her way toward the pump.Michael and Henry were already unbuckling. Michael gave me a look—one I knew too well by now. It was that silently judgmental stare, like he was waiting for me to mess up. Again.“Come on, Henry,” Michael said. “Let’s hit the restroom.”They both disappeared behind the store as Ashley began fueling up the car. I stayed behind a moment, watching the dark horizon, the outline of

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   On the Highway

Michael’s POV I always imagined a road trip with Henry would be something like the commercials—wind in our hair, corny playlists, shared snacks, and stupid road games that made us laugh till we cried. A chance to feel normal and free. But I should have known normal wasn’t in the cards. Not with Fernando Ramirez sitting shotgun and two black cars trailing us like we’re part of a damn witness protection program.Ashley was gripping the steering wheel with her jaw clenched, sunglasses covering her eyes, but I knew her too well. She hated this just as much as I did.I shifted in the backseat, glancing sideways at Henry who had his seatbelt snug over his chest and a juice box in one hand, his eyes bright with curiosity.“Okay, next one,” I said, trying to force enthusiasm into my voice. “I spy with my little eye… something red.”Henry’s eyes darted around, the way they always did when he was hyper-focused. He looked out the window at the blur of scenery, then back into the car.“The soda

  • Dark Possession: Bound To The Mafia Don   Shut Out

Archer’s POVI sat behind my desk, staring blankly at the documents that had been piling up like bricks of guilt. Contracts, acquisition reports, and memos that required my signature. Important things, by any definition. But in the grand scheme of things, they meant nothing. Not when the one person I needed to see had vanished. It has been five whole days.Five long, punishing days since I last saw Fernando in that hospital bed.And then there was Marlo. That smug, controlling puppet master with a smug face sharp enough to cut bone. He had swept in like a storm, wrapping himself in legal rights and emotional authority, and shut me out with no updates, no visits, and no explanations. Just silence.I wasn't even allowed in the room.“He needs space,” he had said.Space?Fernando had an entire wing of the hospital to himself. What he needed was me. What I needed… was proof that I still mattered to him. Proof that I wasn’t just some faded memory in the chaos of his broken mind.I slamme
