CHAPTER 52

Lucas and my warriors were dragged away somewhere, but I didn’t know where and I was taken inside the mayor’s office.

I was tied to a chair with silver chains.

I growled at them as they were wrapping the chains over my wrists and around my ankles, but they had threatened to kill all my warriors if I didn’t do what they said. My warriors were unconscious, so they would be able to do that. And I wasn’t going to have their blood on my hands. If they were going to kill anyone, then it would be me.

“Do you have the number?” The sheriff asked.

So he went over to the phone and dialed a number.

“There’s no answer.” He said.

“I’m sure there’s just a hold up. She’s been waiting for this call.” The sheriff said.

“Where was she the last time you talked to her?” The mayor asked.

“I’m not sure. She doesn’t tell us this stuff. She said that she was close.” The sheriff said.

“I don’t suppose you’re talking about Samara?” I asked. And they both looked at me.
