Adele's POV
"I'm here to meet Albert Knight." I bit my lips in tension. Last time when I did it I used to work in Knight Enterprises. I was his employee, his wife. And now I'm his runaway wife. I didn't know if I would get the permission to meet him or not.
I felt the receptionist looked at him with horror. She didn't even blink for a few minutes, "Are you sure, ma'am?"
"Of course! That's why I'm here." I frowned. Why it was so rare to get a chance of meeting CEOs?
"Err...do you have any appointment?" She again asked. Confusion and fear were overloaded in her eyes. Didn't anyone ask to meet him before?
"No, can't I meet him without any appointment?" I asked trying to calm myself down. I knew things have been changed. It won't be good to barge in his office like that. Maybe he wouldn't like.
"Sorry, ma'am...boss has a really bad mood today. We can't arrange the appointment right now." She said with a polite smile.
"O
"Brat! You're going to fall in danger." Adele smacked Everett's head a little."Hey! Do you think I'm here to play with my brother in law? No way! I've better works to do. I'm just here to dry your hairs." He said while wiping Adele's hairs with towel, " Since childhood you hated the thing, and I did it for you. I missed it Amber." He sighed.Their childhood was really full of happiness until that night came. But nothing stopped their growing affections and bond to become stronger. After moving to San Francisco, they became each other's life without even saying. Amber was like their pampering mother, Everett and Elora was like her spoiled child. But yet they spoiled her little too. Everett liked to dry her hairs, Elora liked to do her makeups. She was really pampered by them."I missed you to Eve, I missed everyone." She pressed her lips together firmly."Hmmm, I know." He smiled, "You family missed you too, Amber. Like that Albert Knight did.
"What the hell!!!" Adele shouted loudly as she panicked to see Albert get unconscious on the road."Eve, come over here! Hurry up!" She really couldn't get mad at Everett for punchering those tyres as no matter what happened Albert must have stood there for hours even in the rain. She just wanted to curse her bad luck."What happened?" Everett, who was busy in his work, suddenly came all the way running with her sudden and restless voice. The moment he looked through the window, his face changed drastically. He didn't know something like this would happen because of his childishness."Let's go. Have a look at him." Everett pulled her when she behaved reluctantly, "What's the point? They won't let us go near him. I'm just a nobody. Not the Wilsons, nor Mrs. Knight. I ca
Albert's POV Now what the hell does these people want? She left me like she was never in my life. And now trying to get me back. Robert was the one to ask her to come here. Now he also came to meet. Not that I hate my family. But they just kicked me out of the family. If they were having any problem, they could share, right? We could have found a way out to get rid of all those. But they just chose to keep me in the dark and fight on their own. I didn't know if it meant anything good or bad, I was just mad at them. "What do you want now?" I asked Robert coldly. I didn't know he could forget me so fast after getting a companion, my wife. Both of them ditched me. "At least it's not you whom I want to meet now. It's Adele and Andrew." He smirked.
"I am here to meet Mr. Albert Knight." Adele bit her lips in tension knowing he won't agree again. The day, he left just after Everett's words. He was actually afraid to show his soft corners to the whole world. He didn't like how people around him could read his mind. He was afraid to get caught by them that he loved her all the time didn't matter what she did or not."Ma'am, I'm sorry again. You can't." The receptionist was feeling bad for her. She went yesterday and now again. Maybe she had something urgent."Umm...I understand." She nodded a little with a sigh, "Just inform your president, I won't come here to disturb his works anymore. I don't want him to waste time for me."She went to the elevator with a heavy heart. She didn't know what to do. Though yesterday
Richardo EnterprisesIn the meeting roomAlbert was sitting impatiently while sparing death glares towards Ryan and Adam. Both of them were trying hard to control their laughter as his constant gazes were of no work. The moment Albert's eyes fell on Elora, he earned a sheepish smile from her. For some reason, he was not able to glare at her. He had some soft corners for her."When will your employee come with presentations?" He asked at last. He had been waiting there for the last ten minutes and there was no trace of anyone. He was being patient for the sale of his past relationships with them, basically for Elora."Damn! Jacob Smith has done some better jobs than the actual owners. Why are you so careless?"
Adele's POV I could hear faint voices. I knew it was Everett. Though my eyes were too heavy to open, I could understand how tense he was for me. The effect of anesthesia hasn't been out yet. I felt my body felt a ton of weight over it. I could hardly open my eyes. "Amber! You've got your senses back." Everett whispers into my ears, noticing my movements. Before I could nod, he again said, "Take it easy. You will be okay, huh..." I slowly opened my eyes and saw a blurry vision of Albert sitting on the sofa of the cabin, hands on his head. There was a frown between his eyes, his face seemed tired. Everett gave me an assuring smile while pointing at him, "He had been so tensed for you. He was even awake t
"Find who tried to attack her. Don't leave that bastard." Albert called his subordinate as his blood boiled with the incident. Adele was badly injured. His fake anger hurt her that much. If he was beside her that wouldn't have happened."Calm down. I'm not dead yet." Adele smirked at him laying on the hospital bed. Her heart melted knowing how much he cared about her. At last he admitted."How come you are so calm? Did you plan it to scare me?" He rolled his eyes."Come on! I love myself. So I'm not gonna hurt myself. I'm relieved because Robin has gone after them. He will make sure to make them pay. Don't worry." She explained.Albert sighed. It was true. Robin always took care of Adele. Now that he was
It was the day when Adele was released from the hospital. She needed a few days more to stay there. But Everett managed it somehow. After that day, Albert didn't say anything about their childhood. He didn't mention it. And when she tried to ask anything, he simply avoided. But curiosity was killing her inside."What are you thinking for that long? You didn't even miss me these days." Adam frowned at her as she was engaged in her thoughts. He said a lot of things in the meantime but she didn't respond."Not like that. Tell me how are you and El doing?" She asked with a sigh."Elora? She's such a sweet girl. She never complains about my job." He smiled. That was his first concern. He had to come home late many times, sometimes he couldn't make it. He needed to go on mis
