FAZER LOGINAndy’s POV
“Okay, your first assignment will be joining me and my family for dinner this evening. I’ll pick you up by 7pm.” I said, as I drove her back to her clinic. “Hold on, my dad's expecting us for dinner.” “Cancel it. Mine should come first.” “Why? Your family is not more important than mine.” “I’m the boss, I make the rules.” I said smugly. She frowned. “Let’s get one thing straight. You’re not my boss, we’re partners. My say has just as much weight as yours. And I say we go to my family for dinner tonight.” I gritted my teeth and opened my mouth to tell her that this wasn’t a partnership and my word would be the law, but I remembered I was dealing with Tiffany Baxter. Trying to boss her around would only make things worse. “Your right. We’re partners, and no family is less important, but my case is time sensitive. The earlier my dad meets my fiancee, the quicker I get my position, the quicker we go our separate ways.” Her frown relaxed. “Fine, we’ll see yours tonight. I’ll call my dad and reschedule.” “Thanks.” I pulled up in front of her building. “Do you want me to walk you to your office?” She glared at me. “Don’t push it.” I drove back to work, relieved I’d finally solved my biggest problem, but I still had another. I hadn’t told Tiffany we’d have to be married in a couple of weeks, I knew she’d refuse to go along with it. Being my fiancee was bad enough, she’d never agree to be my wife. But without the marriage, I won’t be CEO. I was still thinking of a way round it when I got to my office. “Mr. Justin asked to see you when you returned.” My secretary told me. “What does he want?” I growled, the asshole had probably heard the news, but was too much of a pompous ass to come and ask me himself. The hell I was going to go to his office. I called my stepmother and told her to expect Tiffany and I for dinner. As I hung up, my best friend Jeff breezed into my office. “Andy! How did you pull it off? Man she’s hot! Your dad will have no complaints about this one. She’s even better looking than Jessica...” “Keep your voice down.” I whispered. “Sorry.” He sat across me. “I was surprised to hear Tiffany was your fiancee, I thought you guys hated each other in high school.” “We still do. This is just a business arrangement.” I swore him to secrecy, then told him of our deal. “I don’t think this is such a great idea Andy.” He said, “What if your dad finds out?” “He won’t. Only you, her, and me know about this arrangement.” “What if he remembers the person you were dating was called Jessica, not Tiffany.” “He won’t. He never met her, and isn’t very good with names. As long as the person I’m with now has a family name that’s well known, he won’t care.” “What about Justin and his mother?” “Who cares about them? My dad is who I’m concerned about.” He shrugged. “Okay. If you think it’ll work, who knows, you guys may even make it real.” “No way.” I said quickly. “There is no way I’ll ever think of dating Tiffany Baxter for real. Forget it. If it wasn’t for the nosy paparazzi, I won’t have anything to do with her. She’s annoying, just like in high school. No way I’d ever, ever date her.” “Are you still trying to convince me, or yourself?” He smirked. I ignored him. My mind was on this evening. I couldn’t afford anything to go wrong. I hoped Tiffany would do her part to make sure it didn’t. I left work early and headed home. I took a shower and quickly got dressed then drove to her place. On the way I took a good look at the neighborhood and realized it wasn’t the nicest. Why would the daughter of a man as rich as Huge Baxter live here? Then I remembered she’d said she’d been estranged from her dad after the scandal. Maybe he’d cut off her allowance , which meant she’d opened that clinic all by herself, without any help? My respect for her rose. Maybe I should find her a house in my neighborhood, it was a lot nicer and safer too. Wait, are you thinking of helping Tiffany? My mind asked in horror. I’m doing it for myself, it’s bad for my image if my fiancee lives in this kind of neighborhood. I Ignored the part of my mind that screamed I was lying. I stopped in front of her apartment and called her. “I'm parked in front of your apartment, where are you?” “Stepping out of the shower, I’ll be there in five minutes.” I groaned in exasperation. If she was just stepping out, getting dressed and doing her makeup would take her an hour at least. But I got the surprise of my life when five minutes later, she was walking towards my car. The sight of her made my jaw dropped. She looked indescribable. Earlier she’d been wearing a lab coat over a blouse and pants, now she was wearing a navy blue mini dress that clung to every part of her curves. Her hair that had earlier been held into a pigtail, was now loose and fell to her shoulders. She looked breathtaking and I was embarrassed to realize I'd gotten hard just looking at her. “It's rude to stare she said, getting in besides me. Her flowery perfume filled the car. I blushed. “Sorry, it's just that, you look really beautiful.” I said. “And you look really surprised. Where you expecting me to show up wearing a trash bag?” “No…but…in high school you never cared about looking fashionable.” “In high school I was never paid to be someone’s fiancee.” I shrugged. “Whatever. You look lovely.” “Thanks.” She smiled. I pulled into the main road, wishing that I could clear my head of the images I was forming of her, and that my other head would stay down. Neither obeyed.Tiffany’s POV “You’re scared of heights?” Andy asked skeptically. “Yes I am. And if you’d bothered to ask, you’d have known that.” “But in high school I remembered you once climbed an elm tree to retrieve my jacket.” He reminded me. “That was because you would have gotten into trouble without the jacket.” I snapped. He looked surprised. “You hated heights but climbed anyway because of me?” I felt like a deer caught in the headlights. “No. Of course not. I climbed to prove a point. You said I couldn’t, so I wanted to prove I could.” “Really?” He smirked. “Yes. Really. And don’t change the subject. I'm not going hot air balloon riding tomorrow.” “Please Tiffany, Aunt June loves it and wants us to join her.” “Tell her to forget it. Courtesy demands you should have asked me first.” He sighed. “You’re right. I’m sorry. Please would you come? It’ll be good for our happy couple image.” I rolled my eyes in exasperation. “If I get air sick I’ll do it down your shirt
Tiffany’s POV Andy looked confused. “I don’t know –“ he stopped. “You don’t?” I asked skeptically. “Actually I do. Bethany was in the car this afternoon-“ “Is that so?” I asked coldly. “Look it’s not what you think. I met her outside my office and she asked for a lift, so I dropped her off. Nothing else happened.” “Yet you didn’t think to tell me, and probably won’t have told me if I hadn’t found this here?” “I would, it just slipped my mind.” “What else slipped your mind? The hotel room you both got?” I spat. His eyes widened in embarrassment. “We didn’t get a hotel room. I just gave her a lift. There’s nothing going on between us.” “I don’t care. Just remember she’s no different from Justin, whatever she’s up to it isn’t good.” “I told you I just gave her a ride. Nothing else.” "Whatever.” I said and stepped out of the car. “Let me walk you to your apartment.” “I can find my way.” I snapped. I walked into my apartment, still mad. This was the second ti
Tiffany's POV The auction began and I looked around, wondering who would bid on the sculpture I'd fallen in love with. “Are you bidding?” I asked Andy. “No, why do you ask?” “Nothing. Just wondering if you wanted to acquire something, like that sculpture.” I said, pointing to it. He grimaced. “Why the hell would I want such a thing?” “Because it’s beautiful.” He laughed. “It has teeth, sure you’d find it beautiful.” “It is.” He kept laughing. “Go to hell.” I hissed, turning away from him. I should have known he’d be an ass about it. “I need water, do you need anything?” He asked. “Yes. For you to jump off a bridge.” I snapped. Grinning, he walked out. The bidding continued. I occasionally caught Kelly, Glenn, and Justin giving me smug glancing and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. Andy came back as bidding for the sculpture I’d been eyeing was about to start. But to my surprise it stopped abruptly. We were told It had been bought by a pers
Tiffany’s POV At work the next day I couldn’t stop thinking about last night, when Andy had walked me to my door. He’d almost kissed me, I was sure of it, and I smiled whenever I thought of it. “You’re imagining things,” a part of my mind whispered to me, "you hate him, remember?” I would have said yes, but now I wasn’t so sure, especially now I could see how sincere he was in keeping the promises he’d made last night. My thoughts were interrupted by Lynn announced Fred was here to see me. “What? Why?” I demanded. “He won’t say.” I wanted to tell her to ask him to leave, but changed my mind. “Send him in.” Let me see what he wants, I thought. “Hey Tiffany, you look great, as usual.” He said walking in. “What do you want Fred?” I asked angrily. “To see you, why are you mad?” “Because I don’t want to see you." “Please hear me out.” “Start talking.” “It would be a lot better if we could go somewhere and talk. Please Tiffany.” “If you thin
Andy’s POV I waited nearly ten minutes before Tiffany joined me in the car. As usual she looked beautiful in a green evening dress. But I also noticed she looked worried. “Everything okay? You’re unusually late.” I said. “Everything is fine.” She murmured. “Are you sure? You look worried. Did that jerk Fred Castle bother you?” She raised her eyebrows at me. “Jealous?” She asked. “Of him? No. Of course not.” “You sound jealous.” She said, smiling mischievously. “Well I’m not. I just want to know why you looked worried. This meeting is too important for you to be distracted by anything.” “So your concern for me is because of the meeting?” “Sure. What else?” Liar! A small voice screamed at me, but I ignored it. She glared at me. “Good, because I don’t need your concern.” She said. “But something is on your mind,” I said softly, “tell me.” “I”m just a little nervous. I’ve a reputation to protect. I don’t want this job to ruin it.” “How?” “I
“I can’t believe this,” Cynthia exclaimed, “so the bitch is truly dating Andy Harris?” “I thought she was lying, especially since she kept postponing the dinner.” Sophia sighed. “This is so disappointing. I was hoping for a chance to make fun of her.” It was a Wednesday morning and the four women, Cynthia, Sophia, Penny, and Bethany were in the Baxter mansion discussing Tiffany’s visit. “The engagement may not even be real,” Bethany put in. “I know they hated each other in high school. Andy won’t date Tiffany unless he was paid.” “Maybe she’s paying him to pretend to be her boyfriend.” Sophia suggested. “With what? Platinum?” Cynthia asked sarcastically. “Andy Harris is Jake Harris’s son. They’re worth billions. What does that wretch have to offer him?” “She managed to open a clinic. She may be doing better than we thought. Which isn’t fair. She was supposed to be miserable.” Bethany pouted. “She will be, I promise you I’ll make sure this happily ever after is over fast.
