Chapter 2: The Wrong Woman

Lana – POV

The warm water runs down my shoulders as I close my eyes under the shower.

For a moment, everything feels peaceful.

No meetings.

No contracts.

No pressure.

Just the sound of water and the faint hum of the city outside.

Dubai at night never really sleeps.

I reach for the shampoo when suddenly—

A sound.

My eyes snap open.

Did I hear something?

Maybe it’s just the air conditioner.

Or maybe the alcohol from the party is still making my head fuzzy.

I shake it off and rinse the soap from my hair.

But then—

The bathroom door creaks open.

My heart jumps.

Hello?

I freeze.

“Hello?” I call out cautiously.

No answer.

My pulse starts racing.

I quickly grab a towel and wrap it around myself before stepping out of the shower.

Steam fills the room, blurring the mirror and the glass.

Then I see him.

A tall man standing near the bathroom door.

Water drips from my hair as I stare at him in shock.

“What are you doing in my room?!” I demand.

For a moment, he doesn’t speak.

He just looks at me.

His dark eyes narrow slightly as if something isn’t adding up.

“You’re not Selene,” he says slowly.

My eyebrows pull together.

“Selene? Who is Selene?” I snap.

The man runs a hand through his hair, clearly irritated.

He looks around the bathroom, then back at me again.

Something shifts in his expression.

Confusion.

Realization.

“This isn’t my room,” he mutters.

I cross my arms tightly over the towel.

“You think?” I say sharply.

My heart is pounding now.

Because the man standing in front of me is tall… broad-shouldered… and extremely handsome in a dangerous kind of way.

But that doesn’t change the fact that he just walked into my hotel room.

“Get out,” I say firmly.

He studies me again, this time more carefully.

His gaze moves over my wet hair, my bare shoulders, the towel wrapped around my body.

For some reason, that look makes my stomach tighten.

“You’re not Selene,” he repeats.

“No, I’m not,” I reply.

A small smirk appears on his lips.

“Good.”

I blink.

“What?”

He exhales slowly, almost like he’s relieved.

“You have no idea how lucky you are.”

“Lucky?” I scoff. “A stranger just walked into my room and you think I’m lucky?”

He finally steps back toward the door.

“Relax,” he says calmly. “I thought this was my suite.”

“Clearly it’s not.”

“Clearly.”

For a moment, silence hangs between us.

Then he gives me one last look.

But this time it feels… different.

Intense.

Like he’s memorizing my face.

“Well,” he says, opening the door, “goodnight… whoever you are.”

Then he walks out.

Just like that.

The door closes behind him.

I stand there frozen for several seconds before finally exhaling.

“What the hell just happened?”

Ethan – POV

I close the door behind me and lean against the wall in the hallway.

That…

Was not Selene.

Not even close.

Selene is polite. Proper. Predictable.

But the woman I just saw inside that bathroom?

Wet hair.

Sharp eyes.

Fierce attitude.

Completely different.

I run a hand down my face and let out a quiet laugh.

“Well… that’s new.”

Then I push myself off the wall and start walking down the hallway.

But halfway to the elevator…

I stop.

Because suddenly one thought hits me.

Hard.

I turn slowly back toward the door of her suite.

My eyes narrow.

“I want her.”

Chapter 14 Lana – POV Daniel keeps looking at me. Not casually. Not politely. But carefully. Like he’s trying to solve a puzzle. And unfortunately… I’m the puzzle. The restaurant suddenly feels too quiet after Ethan’s sudden exit. Daniel leans back in his chair slowly. “Well,” he says. “That was interesting.” I force a small smile. “My guess is you two argue like that often.” Daniel laughs softly. “You have no idea.” But his eyes are still watching me. Studying every small reaction. “Ethan rarely interrupts my dinners,” he says. “I’m sure he had business nearby.” Daniel doesn’t respond immediately. Instead, he takes a sip of his drink and tilts his head slightly. “Lana.” “Yes?” “My brother doesn’t show up somewhere without a reason.” My heart tightens. “He said he had a meeting.” Daniel gives a small, skeptical smile. “My brother lies very smoothly.” Silence stretches between us. Finally he sighs. “Alright,” he says. “I won’t interrogate you.” “That’

Chapter 13 Lana – POV By the time evening arrives, I already regret agreeing to dinner with Daniel. Not because Daniel is unpleasant. Quite the opposite. He’s intelligent, charming, and surprisingly easy to talk to. Which only makes the situation worse. Because every time I think about tonight, I remember Ethan’s expression earlier in my office. Cold. Jealous. Possessive. And the way he said those words. I don’t want him touching what’s mine. I shake the thought away as I step out of the elevator at the restaurant Daniel chose. It’s a beautiful place—modern, elegant, with soft lighting and a quiet atmosphere perfect for conversation. Daniel is already waiting at a table near the window. When he sees me, he stands immediately. “Lana,” he says with a warm smile. “Daniel.” “You look amazing tonight.” “Thank you.” He pulls out my chair before sitting across from me. “I promise this isn’t just an excuse to steal you away from work,” he says with a laugh. “I hope not,

Chapter 12 Lana – POV Selene is waiting outside my office when I step out of the elevator. Leaning against the wall. Perfectly composed. Perfectly elegant. And very clearly waiting for me. My stomach tightens. “Good morning, Ms. Vale,” she says smoothly. “Good morning.” Her eyes study me carefully as I approach. Like she’s looking for something. A clue. A reaction. “I was hoping we could talk,” she continues. “About the restructuring project?” I ask politely. Her smile deepens slightly. “No.” A pause. “About Ethan.” My pulse immediately quickens. I keep my expression calm. “What about him?” Selene straightens from the wall and steps closer. Close enough that her perfume reaches me—soft and expensive. “You’ve only been here two days,” she says thoughtfully. “And yet somehow you’ve managed to capture a lot of my fiancé’s attention.” My stomach twists. “That’s a misunderstanding,” I reply. “Is it?” “Yes.” Selene tilts her head slightly. “I’ve known Ethan f

  • Dating The Wrong Brother   One Kiss Too Dangerous

Chapter 11 Lana – POV The rest of the dinner passes in a strange mix of calm conversation and quiet tension. Ethan can be surprisingly charming when he wants to be. Which, unfortunately, makes him even more dangerous. He talks about the company’s growth, the challenges of taking over leadership after his father stepped down, and the pressure that comes with running a corporation as powerful as Hale Industries. For a moment, I almost forget that he’s also the man who kissed me like he meant it. The man whose fiancée is probably already suspicious of me. When dessert arrives, I finally glance at my watch. “It’s late,” I say. Ethan leans back in his chair. “Do you have somewhere else to be?” “Yes.” “Where?” “My hotel.” His mouth curves slightly. “That sounds boring.” “I’m not here for entertainment.” “Maybe you should be.” I roll my eyes. “You’re impossible.” “I’ve been called worse.” Eventually we leave the restaurant. The night air is warm as we step outside onto

  • Dating The Wrong Brother   A Dangerous Dinner

Chapter 10 Lana – POV By the time evening arrives, I’m already regretting agreeing to dinner. Actually… I never technically agreed. But somehow Ethan made it sound like the decision was already made. Which is exactly the kind of confidence that makes him so dangerous. I stare at my reflection in the hotel mirror. A simple black dress. Elegant. Professional. This is just dinner. A work discussion. Nothing more. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. My phone vibrates on the table. Unknown Number But I already know who it is. Ethan: Car is downstairs. No greeting. No question. Just a statement. Typical. I hesitate for a moment. Then I grab my purse and head downstairs. The car waiting outside the hotel is sleek and black, its polished surface reflecting the bright Dubai city lights. The driver opens the door for me. “Good evening, Ms. Vale.” “Good evening.” I slide into the back seat. And immediately freeze. Because Ethan is already there. Sitting co

Chapter 9 Lana – POV The table falls silent. Four pairs of eyes are now on me. Daniel looks confused. Selene looks curious. And Ethan… Ethan looks completely calm. Like he didn’t just announce to everyone that I’m having dinner with him tonight. My heart is beating so loudly I’m surprised no one else can hear it. Daniel breaks the silence first. “You already have plans with Lana tonight?” he asks his brother. Ethan nods once. “Yes.” Daniel glances at me. “You didn’t mention that.” Because I didn’t know about it. I force a polite smile. “Mr. Hale asked me earlier to discuss some restructuring details.” The lie comes out surprisingly smoothly. Ethan’s eyes flicker with quiet amusement. Selene watches both of us carefully. Then she smiles. “Well, work dinners are important,” she says lightly. But something about the way she says it feels like she doesn’t completely believe it. Daniel shrugs. “Fair enough.” Lunch ends soon after. But the tension doesn’t disappe
