Way to Pamora High

***present day world***

Mira's POV -

" This is it then... Mamma, take care of yourself and don't worry. I will give you a call when I land. "

I hugged her so tight that I could have crushed her frail frame. What was more amazing was the force with which she hugged back. It was ten times rougher and tighter than mine. She was fighting to hold back her tears. And so was I. It was my first time staying away from her. It was my first time going away so far.

After the last round of announcements for boarding, I had no option but to hurry my way towards the entry point. They let me in after checking my documents. I was shown inside the craft with a smile.

I settled down at the window. And stared out of it, watching the big wings which were about to carry us all. I looked around. It was a crowded space. People were trying to get to their seats, arrange their luggage, and tuck in their babies as the air hostesses went about helping everybody.

It was a long and exhausting flight but we finally landed after nine long hours. I didn't know how the time went by. The clouds from my window were too mesmerizing. It was only when I stood up that I realized that I had a full bladder and also had cramps in my leg.

I tucked my half-eaten sandwich inside my bag. Then rushed towards the toilet to relieve myself. There were people still getting off, so I figured I would have time.

Two other people were waiting in line, before me. I relieved myself as fast as I could, but by the time I came out, most of the people were gone. I rushed to the exit, afraid I might be left behind.

" Where are you coming from? "

That question made me stutter as I could feel the building up of my anxiety.

A few more staff joined as I stood there, stammering, without an answer.

" She's with me! "

Suddenly a voice and a hand came from the back. It landed over my shoulder.

" Did you check your seat properly? No bags were left behind, right? "

I turned to look at the person asking that question and to my surprise, it was my rescuer, the handsome rich boy who had taken me to his house.

He pulled something out from his pocket and showed it around to the staff. It looked like some sort of an identity card but I knew that it was more than an identity card because it had a magical effect on everyone. They immediately backed up and bowed. Their faces went from authoritative to naive.

They immediately let us go and we went smoothly out of the place.

" What a coincidence! " He smirked.

" Thanks... " I moved away from his grip as he smiled once again.

" Seems like fate is the culprit in this sudden reunion. "

His smirks were dangerous and they were a stark contrast to his innocent face. I say dangerous because I couldn't look away.

" I... I am here to study. "

I said looking away because the way I was staring was rude.

" Study? Where? "

" I will be an exchange student at Pamora High for a couple of months. "

I said as I kept walking towards the exit point. We still had not been through the security and visa checking process. I needed to hurry up because I needed to report at a number of places, beginning with my new hostel and class.

" Pamora High? Wow! Which school do you go to? "

He kept on with his questions and I kept on answering as briefly as possible.

" So, are you here on holiday? "

I finally asked after I collected my baggage. He had nothing with him except for his tiny handbag. And in front of him, my luggage looked like I was carrying the entire Himalayan mountain in my bag.

" Let me help you! "

He lifted the last bag, lying still on the floor, which I couldn't carry over my shoulders anymore.

" Seems like my mother packed the entire house. Sorry. But you don't have to do this. I can manage. "

He flashed that deadly smile and walked in front of me.

" You are so lucky to have your mother's love. It's a unique experience. "

We walked to the taxi terminal and he helped me get all my stuff inside the cab before he left.

" See you around. "

He left as I hurried inside. When I was already halfway inside the new city, I realized that he did not tell me his purpose of visit at all. He came and vanished as suddenly as before. And what was worse was that I had forgotten to ask him his name, again.
