Rising Up

Mason cupped Harley's face in his hands as they stood with little distance between them and leaned in, kissing her softly. She rested her arms around his shoulders and held onto him tightly, not willing to let him go. His own hands dropped to her waist and he wrapped them around her tightly. They weren't doing anything; this wasn't a goodbye, and the night wasn't over yet. It wasn't an act made in lust for one another. It was a simple act of affection. Harley sighed.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't know… I just have this feeling like something will happen and it's gonna tear us apart."

"It's hard. Constantly having to look over our shoulders and sneak around, away from your father and Demitri, it's frustrating." He agreed. "It's also worth it, and I don't know about you, but I'm not going to stop fighting for us, and you. There's nothing that anyone could ever do to change that, no matter what happens."
