Scarlet POV

We watched as a young kid ran out with a muffin in his hand. The mother came flying out of the office and grabbing him. Scolding him for going outside without her before she pulled him back inside. We all shared glances that said, we need to leave. Piling in the car, Courtney drove off and I relaxed. The adrenaline finally wore off and exhaustion set in. 

“Scarlet! Wake up!” I heard from a distance. The ache in my neck started to get stronger as the noise from car doors opening and slamming shut sounded like a freight train horn in my ears. Peeking through my eyelids, I realized we were home. The sun was peeking through trees and the birds were way too perky this morning.
