[Damon POV]

The cold feeling in my skin made my wolf stir like it had just touched fire. That feeling, I hadn't felt it for years. I could remember the last time I had felt something like it. It was years ago in the woods while I ran with Ares, but I couldn't place who it belonged to before my parents left the pack.

I walked further into the locker room, unstrapping my hockey gear. "Who was that lady?" I asked Ryker as I took a seat on the bench next to him.

"You weren't here, Fiona was looking

[Lucian POV]I lifted my hand to pull the baseball cap I had on down a little lower over my eyes before looking over at the direction where Elara had gone. The crowd from the hockey match was starting to filter out down the aisles, their loud cheering still echoing against the concrete walls of the arena. My chest felt tight with a mixture of hope and pure desperation."Alpha, I don't think it's a good idea for you to go after Elara right now," Cane said, sitting upright from resting his arm against the back of the arena chair. "They just finished the game, and that guy might be close. Fighting publicly with him might get people's attention on you. You might get arrested.""I'm not going to fight with that guy," I said to him, keeping my eyes fixed on the dark tunnel entrance without looking in his direction. "I just want my Luna back, and if he tries to get in the way, I won't let him."Cane sighed like he was tired, rubbing his temple with two fingers, but good thing he had no choic

[Elara POV]"Guys, we've got this!" Ares said to the guys as they stood in the tunnel, ready to step onto the ice. "You can't lose today, and I trust that you won't, because you know what happens if we lose again. You don't want us to lose the estate ownership, do you?"The guys shook their heads, their expressions serious as they listened to him speak. But out of all of them, Damon seemed not to be paying attention to what Ares was saying at all. He had his gaze lowered to his puck, staring at it like it held some kind of heavy memory that was haunting him."Did I make myself clear?" Ares shouted, staring at each one of them down the line. When he got to Damon's direction, he stopped right in his tracks. "Did you hear me, Damon?"Damon looked up with a weak, quiet gaze. "Of course I heard you. We're not going to lose anyway.""That's good. Now let me see some energy out there. Let's go!" Ares said with a little chant. The guys made their way out through the tunnel one by one, their s

[Elara POV]I placed my hand on my chest, pressing flat against my shirt to still the fear that still clung to my ribs. The fact that Damon had refused to say anything to me after all of that, made me even more confused. We had just communicated through our minds, and for once, I was starting to understand how to do it well. What was so hard about him just telling me what was going on?I let out a huff of breath, staring at his back as he walked away down the trail like I didn't even matter, even though he had rushed here because he knew I was in danger.I looked around the quiet woods, wrapping my arms tight around myself. I had to put up with Lucian always stalking and coming after me, and on top of that, this whole weird wolf sense and mind link thing that I still didn't understand at all.A soft growl pulled me out of my thoughts, and I whipped my head around in fear, thinking the guy who had attacked me earlier had woken up and come back.Instead, a brown wolf rushed out from beh

[Damon POV]"We better not lose the next game again," Noah told one of our teammates as we continued walking."What is he going to make us do next?" Jared whispered to Noah. "Climb a mountain?"Noah jeered, like he couldn't hold back his laughter as he placed a hand on Jared's shoulder. "Trust me, you don't want to find out."A low smirk pulled up on my lips at the thought of everything. Maybe Ares wasn't wrong. We had been winning every year and that must have made the rest of the team relax, cause they didn't expect to lose.I was still lost in thought when I heard Elara's voice. It first felt like she was right behind me, but when I turned around, I didn't see her. I had gotten so lost in Jared and Noah's conversation that I hadn't paid attention to her anymore.'Let go of me!' Elara's voice echoed in my head.'Where are you?' I asked through the mind link, stopping in my tracks to look around. 'Where are you?'I started walking back when I didn't get a response from her, scanning

[Elara POV]We continued walking up the steep mountain trail, and after a long while, we stopped to take a little break. I let out a rasp breath, leaning my back against a tree trunk because my legs ached so badly. I didn't know anything about hiking when Ares had told me about it this morning. I had made him explain everything to me, though he had offered to let me stay back at the house if I couldn't handle the long walk.I told him I was okay with it, even though in the Blood Moon pack such a thing didn't exist. Maybe the warriors did that, but I knew nothing about their training."Okay, guys, let me get a quick stretch, and then we go," Ares called out, his loud voice bouncing off the high pine trees. The rest of the guys stood up, dusting off their athletic shorts, and started following him further up the incline. I stood up from the little tree stump I had sat on and kept step with them, staying near the rear of the line.I had just taken a few steps, rubbing the side of my che

  • Dear Alpha, You Will Beg For Me   Chapter 25

[Damon POV]A soft smile left my lips as I looked toward the door, my mind replaying what had just happened. I couldn't believe that seeing the look on her face when she first came in could make me smile like this. She was so innocent and naive that it made me wonder how she was able to bond with Lucian in the first place.Of course, one thing was certain now, her wolf was definitely rare, just like Ares's. I had doubled down on that thought the first time I started to feel that sensation when I got close to her, but when I started hearing her thoughts and her conversations too, that was when I confirmed it.She was definitely a pure white wolf, even though her wolf hadn't been awakened yet. I brushed my hand through my hair with a sigh, resting my back against the chair.Maybe I should have told her. I shook the thought away. I knew better than to get close to Ares's sister. Even though it was obvious there was a bond between us, accepting that bond wasn't something I wanted to do ri
