Christian stood completely frozen in the middle of the room, his face turning as white as a sheet.

He kept staring at Lucien as if he was looking at a dead man walking.

In his head, Lucien was supposed to be somewhere in the dirt, starving, broken, and begging for bread. He wasn't supposed to be standing here in a custom suit, looking so tall, calm, and dangerously powerful.

Lucien took a slow step forward and reached out his hand. "Nice to see you again, brother.”
