Serena

I walk straight towards Henry’s office, ignoring the people who are calling after me to stop. I am on a mission, and none of them is going to get in my way. I pick up my speed and arrive at his office in no time, barging into his office. What I find is not what I expected, but it works perfectly for me. He is sitting at his desk, shirt open, and the same woman from the restaurant is straddling him in only her underwear. They jump apart when they hear someone come in.

ConallI am at my house, rather than Serena’s, as originally planned, but only because she and my mom are still out, which is fine. I will give them their time to bond. Serena has been texting me intermittently all evening. They seem to be having a good time together. They will come home when they are ready. I am unsure of the plan, though, whether Serena is coming here or I have to go to hers when she gets home. It doesn’t matter either way. Serena will let me know.I am spending my time relaxing. I had dinner alone since plans changed, but that’s fine. The sound of my cell ringing grabs my attention. I glance at it, and Serena’s name and photo flash on my screen. I smile and quickly answer it.“Hey, baby girl.”“Conall!!!” she giggles. She sounds drunk.“Are you a little drunk?”“Yes, we both are,” she laughs.“My mom is drunk?” I ask, surprised.I have only ever seen my mother drunk, maybe twice in my entire life.“Yes. Um, can you come get us, please? I think we’ve drunk enough,”

SerenaI arrive at the restaurant where I know Conall and his mom are having lunch. They don’t know I am coming, but I am sure they will be fine with it. My meeting ended quicker than I thought it would, but in a good way. I am going to help them get their business up and running. We are meeting later in the week to review final details and finalise all legal arrangements. I will be a silent investor. I don’t want my name visible because anything with my name attached to it, I worry that Henry and his family would happily ruin it all if they knew I was involved. The women are fine with that. I knew they would be. I am excited to help them out and give them the funding they need. I will never use all the money I have, so I like to share it out, especially to help small businesses.I glance around the restaurant, hoping I haven’t missed them. I know Conall’s mom wanted me to join, but I didn’t think I would make it. It will be nice to see her. I spot them. They are enjoying their meals,

ConallI am meeting my mom for lunch since I haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks. She invited me to go to hers for lunch, but I am taking her out instead. She was going to come by the office to meet me, but I talked her out of that because my sperm donor is kicking about and I don’t want her to have to deal with him. He has been staying out of my way, but that would change if my mom came in. He would take the opportunity to say something to her to make her feel bad, and if that happened, I would have punched him. I am meeting her at the restaurant. She told me to invite Serena, but she is meeting with a couple of women today who want to open their own business, and Serena wants to help them out. She is great like that. Money has never been something that Serena is bothered with. She will help whom she can.I finish up and head out. As I step into the elevator, the bastard follows me in. Great! He is the last person I want to be in here with. I don’t acknowledge him. I keep my eyes o

SerenaConall had fallen asleep next to me on the bed while we were watching a movie. He has had a busy week, so he will be exhausted. I will leave him to sleep. I glance down at him, smiling. He is so beautiful. He looks peaceful as he sleeps. It is nice to see. I sigh and turn away from him, focusing on the movie. Our conversation from earlier is running through my head. I am surprised it took him so long to bring it up, but I am glad he did, because it gave me time to sort out my feelings. I want to be with him. I am happy to be with him, but my walls aren’t completely down. That will take. Conall didn’t need to come back, but he chose to, and I am glad he did because I would still be missing him. I still worry I will mess it all up. I shouldn’t be thinking such things, but I can’t help myself.I shake my head and carefully climb out of the bed. I sneak out of the room and to the kitchen. I am only going to make some tea; hopefully, that will help me sleep. I go for a lemon tea and

ConallThings have been good the last couple of weeks, quiet. There have been no issues, which has been great. I want to talk with Serena tonight. I have given her time. I haven’t pushed, but we need to work out exactly what we are. I just hope it doesn’t change all the good to bad, and her walls go flying back up. That is the last thing I want, but it is a conversation that needs to be had.I am on my way to her with dinner. I nipped out to get it. None of us could be assed cooking tonight. I also picked up a nice bottle of wine. I return to her place, letting myself in and find her on the sofa, reading. The same place she was before I left. I don’t think she has moved an inch. I chuckle, and it makes her look up.“That was quick.”“I left like forty-five minutes ago, not too quick.”“Really, it feels like ten minutes ago,” she snickers.“You must have been lost in your book.”I set everything down on the table and go to the kitchen to get plates, glasses and cutlery for us.“It smel

Conall Morgan has disappeared. I don’t know if she is somewhere in the building, or if Henry called to tell her the game is up and she needs to leave. I hope she is already gone, so that I don’t need to deal with her. I sit at my desk, tapping my fingers on the desk as I wait for Serena to arrive. My office door opens, and my head shoots up, expecting it to be Serena. I am soon disappointed when I realise it is Morgan. “Hey, handsome, did you miss me?” she snickers and strolls towards my desk. I guess Henry hasn’t called her then if she is still acting in such a way. “No, he didn’t miss you, and he won’t when you leave in two seconds.” The sound of Serena’s voice makes me smile, but Morgan freezes. After a second, Morgan turns to Serena. “Who are you?” Serena strolls confidently towards her. “I am Serena. Conall’s girlfriend.” “Good for you.” Serena laughs at the comeback. “It is time for you to leave, Morgan, if that is even your real name. We know what this is. You were sen

ConallI am on my way to Serena’s place. I am not too happy. She told me she was going home after lunch, which was a lie. I know what she did. A scene like what went down at the Country Club doesn’t go unnoticed. The worst of it is, Serena is being painted as the bad one, the crazy one who has no r

SerenaI made sure I was up earlier than Conall. I want to go out and get us some breakfast. Yes, we fixed everything out last night, but I sense he is still slightly annoyed with me for doing what I did. No, annoyed isn’t the right word. He was worried. I get that, but he has nothing to worry about

SerenaI told Conall I was going home when I left him. I am not. I have another stop to make first. If my ex-father-in-law wants to threaten me, he can do it to my face rather than through other people like the coward he is. He isn't getting away with threatening Conall either. I hop in my car and d
