“Sebastian—” My voice came out sharp as I hurried after him, my heels striking fast against the hospital floor. I barely got close before two nurses stepped in front of me, cutting me off. “You can’t go in there,” one of them said, calm but firm as she held me back. “Only the partner is allowed.” I went still, my eyes fixed on the closed doors, my mind catching up all at once. Not only was he cheating… he got her pregnant. And he left me on the road like I meant nothing, just to run to her. “The nerve…” I muttered, already pulling out my phone, my fingers slightly unsteady. I dialed his number, my brows pulling together as I looked at the screen like I didn’t even recognise it anymore. He picked up immediately. “Hey babes,” he said, easy, careless. “I’m busy right now, I’ll call you later.” The line went dead. I pulled the phone away slowly, staring at it like it had just confirmed everything I didn’t want to believe. I called again. This time, it didn’t ring. Switched off. A faint, bitter smile touched my lips. My phone buzzed again, and for a split second, I thought it was him, but it wasn’t. It was the doctor. “You said you were on your way. Where are you?” “I…” The word barely formed before everything inside me surged all at once, the weight of it, the anger, the humiliation, the confusion, it all rose too fast, and I couldn’t hold it together. I ended the call abruptly, my hand shaking slightly as I lowered the phone. What the hell was I supposed to do? The man I wanted a child with… already had one on the way with another woman. My fingers curled tighter around the phone, my hand trembling now in a way I couldn’t control. “Mrs. Moretti?” The doctor’s voice pulled me back, and I blinked, realizing I was already seated in his office, though I didn’t even remember walking in. “Yes…” I said, my voice quieter than I intended, my throat tight. “What were you saying?” He adjusted his glasses slightly, watching me carefully. “Should we go ahead with the procedure?” The question hung in the air, but it didn’t feel like a question. It felt like a decision that would change everything. And suddenly, everything flashed through my mind, the messages, the pictures, Sebastian’s voice, the way he left me, the way he held her, the panic in his eyes for her… not me. My chair scraped lightly against the floor as I stood abruptly, the movement sharp, almost frantic. I just turned and walked out, fast, the doctor calling after me, his voice fading behind me as I pushed through the hallway and into the restroom. The door swung shut behind me and that was it. A sob tore out of my chest before I could stop it, my hand flying to my mouth as I leaned against the sink, my shoulders shaking, my reflection blurring as tears filled my eyes. “How could he do this to me…” I whispered, my voice cracking, the question raw, helpless. I gripped the edge of the sink, my knuckles whitening as I tried to steady myself, but it didn’t help, nothing helped. After a hours or maybe longer, I didn’t even know anymore, I forced myself to straighten, wiping my face quickly, though my eyes were still red, my breathing uneven. I stepped out and froze. Sebastian's hands were on the waist of the same woman I've seen in those pictures, steadying her as they walked slowly down the corridor, her body leaning slightly into him. My chest tightened instantly, something sharp and burning cutting through me as my feet moved before my mind could catch up. “Hey—” My voice came out tighter than I intended, but it still made him stop. He turned, and the moment his eyes landed on me, the surprise on his face was immediate, almost comical if it didn’t hurt so much. “Babes… what are you doing here?” he asked quickly, his hand slipping off her waist like it had burned him. I let out a quiet breath, my lips pressing together as I held his gaze. “What are you doing here?” I shot back. My eyes flicked to the woman beside him. “And who is she?” There was a pause, just a second too long. Then he smiled. “She’s a distant cousin,” he said smoothly, not even blinking. “I found her recently. Her name's Kate. She needed help, so…” The lie came out so easily, so clean, like he had rehearsed it. How could someone lie like that? So effortlessly. Kate shifted slightly, her hand coming up to rest on his shoulder, her fingers curling there. What was I supposed to do? Call him out? Tell him I knew everything? Expose him right here? The words sat at the back of my throat, but they wouldn’t come out. Not when I couldn’t even bring myself to tell him about the IVF. Even if I wanted to end things… could I even survive on my own? The thought came quietly, pressing against everything else, against the anger, the humiliation, the disbelief, until I could barely tell which feeling was stronger anymore. “Babes…” Sebastian’s voice pulled me out of it, and I blinked, my gaze lifting slowly to him. “She’ll be moving in with us.” For a second, I thought I heard wrong. My brows pulled together, my lips parting slightly as I stared at him. “What?” “She nearly had a miscarriage,” he said, his tone steady, almost concerned, like he was explaining something completely reasonable. “And the place she’s staying at is terrible. So, as a good man, I suggested our house.” “You’d accept, right?” he added, smiling like this was a small favor, like I was supposed to nod and agree without thinking twice. My gaze shifted slowly to the Kate beside him. She was smiling too, like she already knew the answer. These two…They were really standing here, playing in my face like I was stupid. So this was it. He wasn’t even trying to hide it anymore. He wanted to bring her in....openly. Upgrade her from wherever she was… straight into my space, life and marriage. A soft sound from my phone broke through the moment. My fingers moved automatically, pulling it out, my chest still tight as my eyes dropped to the screen. Another message. From the same number. [Now, you have the choice to make. Will you keep letting him disregard you… or will you come into my arms and let me help you?]Damon"You're so fast," Bianca said the moment she opened the door, a smug smile playing on her lips as she stood there wearing nothing but the lingerie from the picture she had sent me.She had clearly expected me to walk through that door for an entirely different reason, but the moment I saw her, all I could think about was Evelyn. I rushed inside, grabbed Bianca, and pinned her against the wall, my hand tightening around her neck as I glared into her eyes."Tell me, what the fuck did you do to her?" I snapped, my voice filled with barely controlled rage.Bianca's hands immediately went to my wrist as she tried to push me away, but I only tightened my grip, my anger drowning out everything else."I said, tell me what you did to my wife!" I demanded, my voice rising as I pressed her harder against the wall.Bianca struggled for breath, yet instead of looking afraid, she suddenly laughed. "Your wife?" she managed, her voice strained beneath my grip. "Your wife, or your contract wife?
DamonMy eyes widened the moment the CCTV footage came into view. Evelyn had barely stepped out of the hotel room when several men appeared from nowhere, their faces concealed. They surrounded her before she even had time to react, one of them grabbing her as she struggled, and then they dragged her away from the camera's view.My hands curled into fists so tightly that my knuckles turned pale, and a sharp wave of anger crashed through me. "Shit," I muttered, running a frustrated hand through my hair. "I shouldn't have let her leave."I turned toward Kai, my voice rising with urgency. "Find her. I don't care how you do it, Kai. Find out where they took her. Check every camera, every road, every vehicle that left this area. I need to know where she is." My chest tightened as I looked back at the frozen footage of Evelyn. "I can't leave without her. I can't..."I stopped myself, swallowing hard as an old fear clawed its way back into my chest. I had lost her once. I wasn't going to los
Damon"What if I've been stalking you, darling?" I asked, taking a slow step toward her.Evelyn's eyes widened instantly, and the shock on her face was almost amusing. She took a step backward, her lips parting as though she couldn't decide whether I was serious or completely insane."What...?" she stammered.I stopped only when I was close enough to see every little change in her expression, watching the suspicion and disbelief battle across her face. I leaned toward her, breathing in her familiar scent before lifting my hand and gently brushing my fingers against her cheek."What if I've been craving the chance to feel every inch of you?" I murmured, my eyes holding hers. "What if I've wanted to touch you, wanted you here with me, and have been waiting for this moment longer than you could ever imagine?"Her body stiffened beneath my touch, and she quickly pulled her face away from my hand. "Are you for real?" she asked, her voice trembling between disbelief and irritation.I stared
Evelyn"Really?" I asked, staring at him. "You want me to do that?"Damon's dangerous smile remained in place, as though he had been waiting for me to challenge him. "Why not?" he replied, his voice smooth and unbothered. "We're married."Something in his answer irritated me so much that I reached for the zipper of my dress before I could think better of it. My fingers moved quickly, tugging at the stubborn fastening, but it refused to budge. The more I struggled, the more determined I became, even though my hands were trembling and my face was burning.Damon's amusement slowly disappeared as he watched me. "What are you doing?" he asked, sounding genuinely surprised.I shot him an angry look over my shoulder. "You told me to take off my dress. I'm doing exactly what you asked."He stared at me, suddenly quiet, and I could almost see the moment he realised I wasn't joking. That small hesitation gave me the courage to lift my chin."Or are you scared now?" I challenged, turning toward
EvelynHe leaned in so close that my heart immediately began racing, and for one terrifying second I forgot how to breathe. Damon's face was right in front of mine, his eyes fixed on me with that familiar, wicked amusement, and the closer he got, the more my thoughts scattered. I could see the faint curve of his mouth, the way his gaze dropped briefly to my lips, and the deliberate slowness of his movements made it impossible to believe he didn't know exactly what he was doing to me."What are you..." I began, but my voice faltered when his hand moved past my shoulder.Instead of touching me, he reached for the light switch beside the bed and turned it on. The room brightened, revealing every detail of his handsome face, including the smug expression he wore as he looked back at me."What were you thinking?" he asked, his voice low and teasing.I blinked at him, suddenly aware of how close we still were. "Nothing," I stammered, looking away.Damon hummed as though he didn't believe me
EvelynThe kiss replayed in my head again and again as the car moved through the city, no matter how many times I tried to push the memory away. I could still feel the brief warmth of Damon's lips against mine, and every time the image returned, my stomach twisted in a way I didn't quite understand. It had only been a kiss, a ridiculously short one at that, yet somehow my mind had decided it was the most important thing that had happened all day.I stared out of the window, pretending to be fascinated by the passing buildings when, in reality, I was desperately trying to calm my racing thoughts."What are you so stressed about, darling?" Damon's voice suddenly pulled me back, and I turned too quickly, only to find him much closer than I expected. His face was inches from mine, his eyes studying me with that familiar amusement that made my heart jump.I immediately leaned away, creating as much distance as the seat would allow. "What are you doing?" I asked, my voice coming out sharper
Evelyn I didn’t sleep much that night. Even when I closed my eyes, that message kept replaying in my head. [Stop crying. It doesn’t suit you.] The water ran down my skin, warm, steady. My fingers slid through my hair slowly, my eyes closing for a brief second as I tilted my head back, letting th
Evelyn “Where is this?” I asked, my voice low but strained, my eyes widening as I stared at the massive mansion in front of me. “My house,” Damon said, completely unbothered, like this wasn’t strange at all, like bringing his brother’s wife here in the middle of the night was normal. I turned
Evelyn My brows pulled together slightly as I stared at him. “What problem?” I asked. Damon didn’t answer. He just held my gaze, his lips curving faintly, his eyes dragging over my face, lingering like he knew something I didn’t. And somehow… that only made it worse. “Are you serious right no
Evelyn Come into my arms?? What does that even mean?? Who the heck is this sender?? My fingers tightened slightly around my phone, my heartbeat uneven, my thoughts running in circles that made no sense. “It's a yes, right!” Sebastian’s voice cut through everything. I looked up slowly. He was
