~Avery~

My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as I stared ahead at the car that just blocked my path. Could it be Ella again? Haven't I taught her enough manners for today?

I had promised to pick up my little princess today after school since I was unable to take her to school today all because I was falsely arrested by the police.

Sighing, I carefully pulled off my seatbelt and pushed the car door open, I could also see the figure at the other car copying my movement.

Once I was fully out of my car, I approached the other car since the owner was taking the whole time in the world to get out. As I drew closer to the car, the figure turned out to be masculine rather than feminine.

So if it wasn't Ella then who was it?

The door opened and a tall figure stepped out of the car. My eyes rounded in surprise.

Scott?

Well.. my guess wasn't wrong either after all, there wasn't much difference between him and his pathetic wife. I snorted at my thought and proceeded to him.

  • Dear Ex-husband, I Have Returned!    Chapter 60_ Chaos

~Unknown~The dimly lit bar made it difficult for me to see the expression the lady sitting before me had on. She brought the glass of whiskey to her lips but paused when she noticed my stare. "You failed twice. And now there's a bounty for your arrest." A cold smirk flashed on her lips for a second "I'm so much tempted to turn you in by myself!" Her voice was sharp and fierce at the end of her sentence. A cold sweat broke out on my forehead and it rolled down my face. The smell of alcohol lingered in the hair coupled with the smell of sweat from the people dancing to the loud music blasting through the speakers. My life was going well before I met her and started doing her heinous tasks. Now I regret ever accepting money from her. "I tried. They are just too lucky-"There's no such thing as luck! You failed! Stop making goddamned excuses!" Her sharp voice managed to reach my ears clearly despite the loud music playing. My head bowed slightly in disappointment. "I'll launch ano

  • Dear Ex-husband, I Have Returned!    Chapter 59_ Heated

~Avery~By the time I returned home, it was a little late. I spent almost all of my work hours reading the invite over and over again with the hopes that maybe.. just maybe Scott left a clue for me like he did with the divorce papers years ago. But who was I kidding? This wedding was real. I'll be damned to ever show up that day. The pain will be too much for me to bear. I couldn't risk it. My eyes were slightly swollen and red as I had checked in the car's mirror before coming in. Everywhere was quiet and empty. No sign of Stella, Stephen or Allison. "I'm home" Seconds ticked by and no one appeared which was weird. Where could they have all gone to without informing me? I pulled out my phone ready to call Stephen but the soft footstep descending the stairs got my attention. I looked up immediately and it was him. A sigh of relief left my lips. The worst scenario was already creeping into my head a while ago. Something about him felt different though. Both of his hands were tuc

  • Dear Ex-husband, I Have Returned!    Chapter 58_ Divorce Agreement

~Avery~Divorce Agreement.. The words flashed over and over in my face. I raised my head a little and caught the smile on Lucy's thin lips. How did she find out? "Do you think I won't find out about this? You and Scott are still legally married. And for him to have a happy life, I suggest you sign this new agreement" My heart skipped a beat, Scott and I were not divorced just yet. He is still my husband and this also means that he couldn't get married to another woman if I didn't sign it. The thought I had was great but Lucy wouldn't have any of it. "Let's stop wasting each other's time. Sign the papers and free my son from your evil clutches."I'll be damned to sign those papers. As long as it wasn't Scott presenting them to me, it was useless for her to try this method on me. I realize that nothing good comes for free and we must fight to get what we want. I was willing to do everything to stay right next to him again. We've both been wronged by fate and I do hope it wasn't t

  • Dear Ex-husband, I Have Returned!    Chapter 57_ Annoyed

~Avery~I didn’t think that Stephen would be able to pull a stunt like that in front of my daughter. That was the height of it all, I didn't want Allison to get even more attached to him than she already was. I slammed my palm on the steering in frustration. What baby was he talking about?!Everything has been so difficult for me for the past few days and it had everything to do with Scott. His cold attitude towards me was messing with my mental state. I suddenly had the thought of stopping by just to say hello or a few nice words.I know–I'm shameless and all that. I never imagined that I'd miss him so much when all I wanted in the past was to scratch off his face and chase him away from me. Now that I know the truth, the feelings I thought were buried were now resurfacing and I had no control over it.I pulled over and stepped out of my car. If I remember correctly, he will be discharged later today. There was no way he'd let me into his home to take care of him since I learnt of th

  • Dear Ex-husband, I Have Returned!    Chapter 56_ Selfish

~Stella~I’m gonna be a little selfish and enjoy this for as much as I want. This was the longest I've ever stayed with Stephen, Although it was like one of the times I tried to pick up small fights with him so that he could pay a little attention to me. And it always worked like I wanted. But I noticed that Avery has been acting strangely lately which was stealing Stephen’s attention away from me.. One time I snuck a peek at her phone and I saw a text message on her screen saying ‘Mission successful’. I’ve never been more confused than that. Avery tells me almost every of her plans except this one.“Are you done?” Startled, I snapped out of my daze and took a glance to my side. It was Stephen. His magnetic voice took me out of my trance. How can anyone be this good looking and charming all at once? I couldn’t spot Avery around which meant that she was still up in her room.I lowered my gaze to his lips and shook my head gently. He must have caught my actions which made me pull my g
