Damien’s POV

“Colt, release it.”

My voice came out steady, but it didn’t feel steady inside me. It felt like something was tearing quietly, slowly, and I had already decided to let it tear.

“Are you high?” Charles fired, pushing his chair back so hard it dragged across the floor. He was already on his feet, staring at me like he didn’t recognize me anymore.

“Charles, let him,” Julian said, calm but firm, the only one not letting his voice rise.

Damien’s POV“You will what?” Charles asked slowly, like he needed time to process each word before responding to it.He had been leaning back casually a moment ago, one leg crossed over the other like this was just another conversation he could joke his way through, but now he stilled mid-breath, the ease draining out of him in real time. Julian didn’t move much, but his eyes was on me.“Sign my shares to you,” I repeated, my tone steady, unhurried, leaving no space for misinterpretation. For a second, Charles let out a laugh, but it wasn’t amusement, it was disbelief dressed up as humor, “You’re joking.”I met his gaze without flinching. “Do I look like I’m joking?”The question landed exactly where it was meant to. He studied my face, searching, scanning, waiting for a crack, for anything that suggested this was impulse, anger, or worse, weakness. He didn’t find any. The faint amusement disappeared completely, repl

Are you actually hearing yourself right now?” His hand flew through his hair in frustration. “If that statement goes out, his reputation is finished. Everything he has built, everything, is on the line. His seat in this company is not even secure anymore. Those shareholders are vultures, they’ve been waiting for a crack and this is not even a crack, this is a collapse.”I said nothing because he was right. I knew exactly what this would

Julian’s POVI came here for more than one reason. First was Aviellie. Damien might act like he has everything under control, but I know him. He won’t rest until he’s sure they are fine. The second was Evelyn. With everything going on, I needed to see if she was holding up or just pretending. And then… there was Sophia. My long lost... complicationAnd when I say long lost, I mean college days. The kind of love that doesn’t leave you even when it should. She walked away back then without giving me a reason, and somehow, years later, I find her again… and she looks at me like I’m a stranger. I still haven’t decided if she truly doesn’t remember or she’s just avoiding me.I knocked.“Come in,” her voice came from inside. The door opened and Evelyn stepped out. She looked fine. Too fine. The kind of fine people wear when things are not fine at all. We exchanged greetings briefly, and she walked past me like she had somew

Evelyn’s POV “No, you will not stay in my house. Not this time.” Sophia’s voice rang through the living room like she was addressing a stubborn tenant that refused to vacate. She stood in the middle of the room, arms folded, chin slightly raised, fully prepared to defend her territory. “You people that caused this mess should face it. Don’t come and shift it to Aviellie.” I stood there for a second, just looking at her. Not angry. Just tired. “I didn’t come to shift anything,” I said, keeping my tone calm. “I came to check how she is feeling.” “You can check that online,” she shot back without missing a beat. “Call her. Video call her. Do anything you want, but not here.” She pointed around the living room like the space itself was off-limits to me. I let out a slow breath, rubbing my forehead slightly. “Sophia…” “No, no, no, don’t ‘Sophia’ me,” she cut in, already shaking h

Allen’s POV The news spread faster than I expected, not that I was complaining. I leaned back in my chair, phone still in my hand, reading through the headlines again, watching how neatly everything was unfolding. The comments, the speculations, the way people were already picking sides without knowing anything. It was almost beautiful. Chaos, when done right, didn’t need force. Just the right push in the right place. A slow smile crept onto my lips. “Predictable,” I murmured to myself. Damien and Evelyn… still the same. Five years, and they learned nothing. Still emotional. Still reactive. Still easy to fracture once you find the crack. They fell for it once. They will fall for it again. This time, I am not even rushing it. Let them struggle. Let them doubt each other. Let them tear down

  • Dear Ex-husband, I'm back for revenge    Chapter 69 The News

Charles’ POV The look on her face when I told her she would be working under me stayed in my head longer than it should have. Shock, disbelief, a quiet kind of dread she tried to hide behind composure. For a second, I almost laughed it off, almost told her it was a mistake, but I knew Damien too well for that. He did nothing without a reason. Assigning her to me was not coincidence, it was strategy, and knowing him, it was probably meant to drag me into something I had been carefully avoiding, actual responsibility. By the time I got to his office, that thought was already forming into irritation. I pushed the door open without knocking, the way I always did, ready to throw a comment that would annoy him just enough to get a reaction. “So, this is the trick now? Assigning people to me so I can finally start working like a responsible shareholder?” I said as I walked in, but the rest of the words died in my throat the moment I really looked at him.
