The hum of the movie played in the background, but Alexander couldn’t focus on it. He shifted uncomfortably on the couch, glancing at Isabelle beside him. She was curled up next to him, her body pressed against his, her head resting on his shoulder as if they were a couple deeply in love. But Alexander wasn’t feeling the connection. Instead, he felt a tightness in his chest, a weight that he couldn’t shake.

He wasn’t sure when it started, but lately, Isabelle’s clinginess had begun to gnaw at him. It was as though she couldn’t let go, as though every moment needed to be spent wrapped up in his presence. He didn't mind affection, but this—it felt suffocating. Her fingers draped around his arm again, squeezing too tight. The touch wasn’t loving; it was needy, desperate.

His gaze flickered to the screen, but he couldn't care less about the movie. His mind kept returning to Lyvanne. He needed to know if she would send him the designs again. He needed to ask her—he should have done it ear

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    The Proposal

Alexander's POV The day was finally here. The day I wished it never came. The rooftop of the luxury hotel glittered beneath the city’s skyline, lit with thousands of fairy lights wrapped around crystal pillars. A string quartet played softly in the background, their music floating into the evening air. Everything about the night screamed perfection, exclusivity, expensiveness, and breathtakingness. But you know what? My chest felt hollow, as if all the diamonds that shimmered around them had been carved out of my heart. My Mum just has no idea the monster she's about to bring into her home as a daughter-in-law. Maybe she hasn't seen Isabella's real side because she has been hiding it from her, pretending to be a nice lady. While I sat pondering everything, Isabella sat across the table, smiling uncontrollably, and never concerned about how I feel right now. Isn't a proposal supposed to come as a surprise? Why is this particular one planned together with the person who's

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    Sympathy

Lyvanne's POV “I’m still trying so hard to believe what you're saying, Lyvanne,” said Vivienne as she sat on one of the couches, her leg crossed on the other, a glass of wine in her hand. “If this guy has been taking such risks just to prove how desperate he was to get you back, then I think it's time you give him the chance to come into your life once more. “What!” I exclaimed, clearly taken aback by Vivienne’s words. If someone ever told me that Vivienne would suggest such a thing to me, I wouldn't have believed it. “I can't believe you're saying this, Vivienne. Like, have you forgotten the pain I went through in the prison because of this same man you're asking me to give a second chance to? Do you even realize he was the reason my company's reputation was tarnished?” “Point of correction,” Vivienne cut in, a grin plastered on her face. “Your reputation was almost tarnished, but he intervened, which is why you should consider giving him a chance, Lyly.” “He intervened, you said

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back     A Tough Decision To Make

Alexander's POV ‘Does that mean everything I have been through to win Lyvanne back will go in vain? Will I just stand here and let that happen?’ I was lost in thought as I stood in place, speechless, yet my eyes were on Isabella, but my attention wasn't on her. It was as if I knew something was going to come up. What kind of spell did Isabella cast on my Mum that she doesn't see her wrong side even if she's at fault? The more my Mum insists on getting married to Isabella, the more I feel it was a planned thing. While I was lost in thought, Isabella called me back to reality when she cleared her throat. “Alex, I…” she swallowed hard as she managed to speak, her palms rubbing against each other. “I know this is hard on you, but you should know that your Mum wants the best for you; that's why she's doing this. You…” “Just shut the f*ck up, Isabella,” I screamed at the top of my voice, causing her to tremble. I was beyond rage. It was as if I should strangle her to death. “My Mum is

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    Consider My Request

. Isabella's POV “What!?” Alex gasped, his expression a mix of shock, awe, and utter bewilderment, like he was struggling to process what his Mum said. His face was a blank slate, his eyes empty and uncomprehending like a person in a daze. It was as if he was stabbed with a knife in the back by a betrayer on a battlefield. On the other hand, I was taken aback, as I wasn't expecting to hear that from Jessica. I never knew she loved me that much to the extent of asking her son to do such a thing. The last time I checked, it was Alex's wish to marry me, but I declined. Why? Of course, you don't expect me to marry someone with a terminal disease. Someone who had kidney failure? The fear of asking me to donate my kidney to him because he's my husband? I can't take that risk, please, no matter how much I love the person. I can't even make such a sacrifice for my parents, let alone someone's son. Although I called off our marriage then, I never believed Alex would accept me back into

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    This Is an Order From Me

Isabella's POV Suddenly, Alex went mute, his gaze fixed on the entrance. He swallowed hard as he tried to maintain a normal face, but to no avail. He was already too angry to fake a smiling face. From his facial expression, I could tell he felt like he'd been hit by a truck, his mind reeling. He wished he could complete what he wanted to say, but the opportunity wasn't there.Someone he fears or maybe someone he respects must have entered the room, which triggered that reaction. But who could that be? I hope it isn't who I'm thinking about. With curiosity holding me hostage, I swiftly turned around to see who it was. And boom! My eyes landed on her, Alex's Mum. My eyes lit up in excitement, and I couldn't hide. Thankfully, I was backing Alex so he could notice my excitement upon seeing his mum.“Whats…” Jessica attempted to speak, but her words hung in the air. The smiley face I saw earlier was no longer there. Her gaze was buried on my petite face.“What’s going on here, Alex?”

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    The Confrontation

Alexander's POV I stood in the middle of the compound as I watched Lyvanne zoom off from the mansion with speed as though someone was after her life.“I don't trust you.” Those words from Lyvanne kept resounding in my head like the sound of a gun on a battlefield. Why is she too blind to see that I needed her back? Do I need to kill myself for her to know my intentions?Well, I wouldn't blame her. I should blame Isabella for everything. I can't believe she was this desperate to the point of stealing Lyvanne’s sketch. She would have to pay for the damages and the pain she has caused Lyvanne. In fact, this will mark the end of our suffocating relationship. With my fist tightened as though I was about to punch someone, I ran back into the house. As I grabbed my phone from the dining table, I scrolled through my contacts until I saw ‘Isabella’ and dialed it without wasting a second. No, she can't go scot-free.Isabella finally picked up when the call was about to end. Of course, she kno
