Lyvanne's POV…

Vivienne and the young man, who were so engrossed in a discussion that needed no interaction, finally halted, shifting their gazes away from each other to me.

His eyes widened more as his gaze fell on me. It was written all over him how much he had missed me, but whose fault was it that we missed contacts? Certainly not mine.

“Look who we have here.” Before my friend could even say a word, he already took the lead. He placed the drink in his hand on the round transparent glass table in front of him as I heard my name escape his lips, “Lyvanne Morales, the most courageous and beautiful young businesswoman I have ever seen.”

“Hey, don't just stand there like a statue,” Vivienne, who has been quiet since I stepped into the living room, finally spoke, standing up to usher me in as though I were a visitor. “Forget about whatever happened out there and come sit down to celebrate a new beginning. Perhaps a continuation of a beautiful life, girlie.”

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back     Stay Away From Me!

Lyvanne's POV…He came back the time I needed to be left alone. He came back when I didn't wish to set eyes on any man because right now, to me, all men are the same. They're all liars and monsters in human form. Why didn't he show up the time I needed him the most? Why now? Could it be that this is the right time I needed him the most and I'm too blind to see it? Because right now, I'm looking for a shoulder to cry on, but is he the right person? Certainly not.I'm still finding it challenging to believe what Alex just said. It was too hard, like a rock. Too challenging to digest. If someone had told me this was how it would end, I wouldn't have believed them. But now…at this moment…hmmm…I stared at the phone screen until the call ended. “I…maybe I can still figure out a way, even though it seems impossible at this point, but I can still try another means to convince my Mum, if only you can exercise patience,” he stammered as he spoke.Oh, he was trying to feed me some lies to ca

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back     The Enemies We Wish To Conquer

Lyvanne's POV…My jaw dropped like a lead weight, my eyes fixed on Alex, and his words penetrated my heart like a sharp arrow. He was kidding, right?“Lyvanne,” he finally lifted his head to look at me. He was quiet for a moment, his gaze on me, holding numerous unexplained emotions. “I…. I don't know how to convince you to believe what I'm about to say, but it's nothing but the truth.”I was dumbfounded, wondering if he was just trying to play with my emotions. Perhaps he wanted to see my reaction. “You…you are getting married to Isabella?” I stammered as I inquired, hoping for a positive response.“I’m sorry, but it was beyond my control, Lyvanne,” he explained. “I agreed to marry her so I could protect you from my mother, who was threatening to hurt you if I refused to marry Isabella.”“Oh please,” I snapped, rolling my eyes. “Don’t give me some silly excuses over something you planned yourself. I'm not a kid, Alex. Yeah, I know it will hurt, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't te

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    I'm Getting Married

Alexander's POVLyvanne giggled, letting go of my hands. She sat straight on the chair, her hands folded above her chest. “I know you have a lot to say too, but I'm sorry that I'm being selfish for you to listen to my whole side of the story,” she let out, fighting her guilty conscience even though I didn't complain. “Alex, what if I tell you that I was innocent of the accusation that landed me in prison five years ago?”Her words rang in my ears, reminding me of the event that happened five years ago. I thought she had forgotten about that. Why is she mentioning it again? I was short of words as I stared at her with skeptical brows. She caused the demise of my child, and now she's trying to prove her innocence? I don't think I'm ready to discuss this with her. “I know you don't believe me,” she continued. “But the truth is your first love, Isabella, was never pregnant, and I can prove that if you want me to.”“Wait! What!” I exclaimed, adjusting myself on the chair. “What do you m

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    Her Past

Alexander's POV…“Do you care for anything?” Lyvanne asked even before I took my seat. “Not really,” I shook my head as I sat opposite her. “But you look so hungry. Lol,” she teased, a smile curving her lips. I don't think she was really concerned about whether I was hungry or not, but just to tease me to see my reaction. Perhaps she was up to something else. Who knows? But whatever she was up to, I hope this urgent meeting ends well, though.“Well,” I shrugged, crossing my legs. “Your voice, your smiles, and your words alone are enough to quench my hunger if truly I'm hungry as you said.”Even if I'm hungry, I'm not sure whether there's anything or anyone on this earth that can convince me to eat anything here. I have no evidence that I was poisoned here as Isabella claimed, but just because I don't trust Isabella's words doesn't mean I trust the staff here. Just to avoid suspicion from Lyvanne or problems that might arise in the future, I didn't bother to meet the restaurant man

  • Dear Ex-wife, Please Come Back    Dumbfounded

Alexander's POV….Without wasting much time, I found myself on the road to the address Lyvanne sent to me. Although it was 1:20pm, I still considered going there early so I could wait for her arrival. I was eager—too eager to meet her and hear what she wanted to discuss. Yeah, even if she'll mention the proposal, I know how to convince her so as not to blame me for what happened. I would need to convince her to believe that the proposal wasn't done because I wanted to, but to protect her from my Mum. To protect her from the danger that was knocking on her door.My only prayers?I just pray she believes me because the last time we saw each other, it was written all over her face that she can't trust any word that came out of my mouth. But I'll try everything possible to convince her. Yes, she would have to believe me.As I exited the hotel, I didn't bother to inform Isabella that I was leaving. Why should I even do that? The environment was suffocating—too suffocating for me to stay.
