By Monday morning, I couldn’t walk ten feet without hearing my name... and not in a good way.

****

"Elsa, you really need to stop letting people walk all over you," Sarah whispered beside me, clutching her books to her chest.

I kept my gaze low, goosebumps crawling up my neck. "You think they’re staring at me… or is it just in my head?"

Sarah didn’t answer right away. Then: "They’re staring."

And... laughing. A girl with blonde hair passed by, smirking. "Loved your video, little miss priss," she said, twirling her phone in her hands.

My face turned red.

Sarah’s phone chimed. She pulled it out slowly, frowning as she tapped the screen. Her eyes widened. "Oh… no."

"What?" I leaned closer.

She hesitated, then turned the screen toward me. The video began with me, nervous, fumbling at the handle of a bedroom door. Then it cut to Jace Weston, hair a mess, as he stepped out of the same room this morning.

My entire body stiffen. I swore my heart began pounding out of my chest. "No... No. This... this can't be real." I said, stumbling backwards.

"It's already viral," Sarah said, face flushed. "They even made a meme out of you falling down the stairs with fake moaning."

Then... That's when I heard it, the laugh, Laureen.

"Well, well," she said behind us. "If it isn’t Dashling High’s newest p**n star."

Sarah stiffened. "Walk away."

But she didn't, she stepped closer. "Tell me, Elsa, was it worth it? Throwing yourself at Jace like some desperate little pick-me?"

"Leave her alone," Sarah snapped.

Laureen smirked. "Or what?"

My throat was tight, my chest arched, people had started gathering, watching, cameras clicked.

"I mean," Laureen went on, her voice loud now, "Jace Weston? Really? That’s some serious delusion. No way he touched that..."

I clenched my fists, but I couldn't speak, not with the whole school starring at me.

Then I heard my name. No, not my name.

"Hey, Quarterback!" Laureen shouted down the hall. "Mind clearing up the rumors? Did you really sleep with Nosy Elsa?"

Everything stopped; The hallway, my breath, time itself. Jace looked up from his group. His eyes landed on mine. And for a second, I felt hopeful that he won't lie, that he'd say something kind.

He walked toward us, hands in his pockets. People leaned in.

Sarah squeezed my arm. "He won’t lie. He can’t."

But then… he spoke. "I didn’t sleep with her," Jace said flatly. "I didn’t even know she went to this school until yesterday."

Gasps. Laughter. My world tilted.

"And honestly," he added, turning to me, "stop spreading lies. It’s pathetic. And you're gross."

Gross. It felt like the ground had opened under me. I stared down at my shoes, trying to keep the tears at bay.

.

Four days it has been, four days without me walking down the hallway, or the cafeteria without receiving cringe stares from people. And I could most likely guess why? Of course, everyone had seen the video about me and Jace. Plus, they was also a sticker of me on every locker for those who couldn't access their phones, with a pink text on it... Dashlingslut. It even became my nickname.

Soon, I stopped talking, skipped lunch, took the long way to every class, and my phone stayed off. I cried in the bathroom once, just once, but that was enough. That night, I stared at myself in the mirror and didn’t recognize the girl looking back.

I was done. Done being the joke, done letting Jace Weston ruin my life, so I packed my bags.

Don’t worry, I didn’t just run away. I had a plan. I told my mom I needed to leave, she didn't ask questions. She called my aunt in Paris and booked my ticket.

Three weeks later, I was there. And somehow, I got into a fashion school, on scholarship. I worked harder than I ever had in my life. I poured every pain, every humiliation, every sleepless night into fabric and design.

I stopped eating for comfort and started working everywhere, because revenge bodies don't build themselves. And little by little, Elsa-the-wallflower faded away. And someday, if Jace Weston ever sees me again… He'd beg to taste the girl he once called gross.

"What the hell, why didn’t you say that was the reason you were holding me so tightly?" I whisper-yelled, face flushed in shame, as I grabbed the dress holding it infront my naked body."If you weren't too much of a bitch, maybe I would have." Jace irritating voice drags me out of my thought. I bite down on every comeback screaming in my throat, now’s not the time."Can you please turn around?" I asked, and to my surprise, he actually did. Clutching the dress tightly around my arm, I rushed to the wardrobe corner, where I'd left my black dress. After minutes of wondering how I'm going to face Jace again, I slowly made my way back to the studio. He was still there, standing exactly where I left him, his back to me.I swallowed. "You can look now."He turned around quickly, that stupid smirk on his face. Great, if only the ground could swallow me this instant."So..." he began, his gaze dragging over me like I was still naked. I crossed my arms over my chest. I wasn’t in the mood to ta

The photo studio was packed; ring lights set, cameras flashing, stylists running around, adjusting clothes. I stood near the wardrobe section, making sure the dresses were perfect for today’s photoshoot. This was my first collaboration with West Modeling Agency, and I wanted everything to go smoothly.Just then, Maria, my manager rushed up breathless."What's wrong." I asked, cutting a loose thread from a blue satin gown."Lena's stuck in traffic. There's no one to model the final look."I didn't even blink. "I'II wear it.""But...""I said I’ll wear it."Minutes later, I was behind a curtain, squeezing into the tightest red carpet gown I’d ever designed. The zipper was halfway up and stuck. I twisted my arm, tugging harder, but it wouldn’t budge."Shit," I muttered under my breath, feeling the pressure. We barely had any time left.I held my breath, tried again... but it still wouldn’t move. "Maria, can you help me with the zipper?"A few minutes later, Maria walked over, and started

I didn’t know how long I sat on the edge of the bed, my eyes flicking to the clock every few minutes; midnight, one, two.Ethan hadn’t come home.He hadn’t replied my texts or returned my calls either. He was supposed to surprise me tonight, but here I was with nothing but an ache in my chest. I could guess why, of course. Work. It was always work.By morning, I felt strong arms wrap around my waist, my back pressing into something hardly. I blinked slowly, as I turned to find Ethan curled beside me, his breathing even, hair a mess. He looked peaceful, as if he hadn’t left me waiting all night again. As if feeling my gaze, his eyes fluttered open."Good morning, sunshine," he murmured, a sleepy smile tugging at his lips. And a dimple forming on his cheeks.I didn’t smile back. "I waited up for you."He sighed, rubbing weakly at his eyes. "I know, babe. I’m sorry. Work ran late... again. But once I close this next contract, I swear, you’ll have me all to yourself.""That’s what you alw

I was already halfway across the floor when I pulled out my phone to call Sarah. Yes? The same Sarah from highschool, we kept communicating even after I left. And in a few days she'll be coming over to pay me a visit. It felt so good to have someone familiar around.I flung my phone back in my purse, only to notice my wallet was no longer inside. Dammit. I must have taken it out after Ethan messaged me.I sighed and headed for the open elevator. But like always fate had other plans, just as I stepped in, Jace Weston did too. Of course, golden boy would show up after the deal was concluded. Our eyes locked. He was wearing a black silky short sleeved buttoned down. Muscles rippled beneath his half buttoned shirt, I could see the veins popping out of his arms. I didn't know how I managed to notice all this details without breaking eye contact, but somehow I did."Elsa, we meet again" He smirked, as he pressed the elevator button. I couldn't help but notice how muscular and tan his arms

The night after the gala, I woke up to an empty side of the bed. I rolled over and checked the clock, still before 7a.m."Good morning, sunshine." Ethan called from across the room, pulling on his tie in the mirror.I frowned, sitting up. "Where are you off to this early? Sneaking out on me again?"He pinched the bridge of his nose, and shook his head. "Work. You know how my boss is."I frowned, as I walked over to his side. "You barely have time for me anymore. It’s always work, work, work. You didn’t even stay until the end of last night’s award."He turned quickly, eyes sharp. "Speaking of awards, guess which agency reached out about you?"I gave him a look, one eyebrow raised higher than the other. "Is that your apology?"He pulled me closer to his chest, arms wrapped around my waist. "Not quite. But… I made some plans that’ll surprise you tonight."I felt heat rise to my cheeks, but I refused to smile. I was still mad. "Okay, so which agency?"He smiled. "Remember my friend from

I made it. Paris, fashion, fame. And... Tonight, every billboard in the city had my face on it, as I received the biggest award of my career. And best of all? I was in love. Ethan; my fiance. The sweetest man I’d ever known, would officially introduce me to his family. My cheeks flushed at the thought."Ten minutes to showtime," Maria, my manager called from behind the curtain.I took a deep breath. The models were lining up, my red dress hugged my body perfectly, everything was ready. Then, I felt warm arms slide around my waist. I turned quickly, and they he was; My Ethan; dressed in a navy blue tuxedo, his black hair styled back, slightly longer infront than at the edges, and that gorgeous smile I'd fallen for."You’ll do great, tonight," he whispered, as he kissed me softly. I smiled, with him everything felt easy."Come with me," he said. "There’s someone I want you to meet.""Your parents?" I asked, eyes wide with excitement. He laughed softly. "No, not tonight.
