"Can we anticipate that you will make New York your permanent home, Dr. Anastasia?" A redhead woman emerged from the automobile, prompting a reporter to ask out loud. She pushed the door closed and put on her sunglasses as she began walking. Her white skin glistened like crystal in the sunlight, while her hair appeared like a cascade magnified by the dawn. Even though the media representatives were there to conduct their duties, the breathtaking beauty in front of them caused them to gasp in awe.

"Doctor, who is your boyfriend? Are you getting married anytime soon?" Another reporter inquired as to when Anastasia crossed her path while on her way to the hospital with a guard shielding her from the mob. Though it was unusual for a doctor to be so renowned, Anastasia was a wonderful surgeon at such a young age, and as a result, she was well-known to people of all ages; also, her amazing beauty drew people to her. Despite her notoriety, Dr. Anastasia was extremely private, and nothing about her was ever revealed to the public.

The one rule that Dr. Anastasia followed was to keep control over life. Hence, regardless of the questions posed by the general public or journalists, they failed to create a buzz about her life because they knew nothing about her, not even about her relatives.

Doctor Anastasia ignored all the questions that were hurled at her as she stepped inside the hospital and she saw many doctors waiting with flowers and gifts for her, but her straight aura did not leave until she saw someone she knew for many years. He grinned broadly at Ana and approached her with spreading arms

"It's great to see you again, Ana. I have been excitedly awaiting." Jackson put his arms around Ana and whispered next to her ear.

"I have to, even though I was reluctant, you know that!" Anastasia said, smiling softly at Jackson before looking at other doctors who approached her and gave her flowers. She offered them a courteous smile but also oozed the aura that she was not very friendly unless she knew someone very well.

"Allow me to show you the private room the hospital has set aside for you. Trust me, they have spent more money on this room than they have on any doctor in the past," With a smile, Jackson stated, starting to stroll alongside Anastasia, who took in her surroundings and noticed that the other medical professionals and nurses were staring at her as though she were a premium exhibit. However, they turned around and started whispering as soon as she laid eyes on them.

"Seems like this disease does not stop following me," Anastasia muttered with displeasure.

“Your beauty is to blame for all this because it genuinely attracts attention from others—even women find themselves staring at you nonstop. Several jealous eyes were jabbing at my back as I came up to embrace you since I blocked their sight and stole their impression, which they had been working on for a while," Jackson told with a chuckle as they arrived at the exquisite chamber and he held the door open for Anastasia to enter.

Anastasia went in, looking around, and answered, "That's fantastic; let people imagine you are closely linked to me so they don't trouble me in the future because I'll be here for a month and I require peace."

Jackson smiled as he glanced at Anastasia's back, feeling her words in his chest. Despite the fact that he knew there was no point to it all, he secretly hoped for it to happen because his admiration for her was growing, and getting her to New York was one of his efforts. So he could keep her in front of his eyes, allowing him to spend more time with her even if they were both busy with their respectable jobs.

He desired for Anastasia to be dependent on him in order for her to lower her defenses and permit him inside her beautiful world.

"Hello... What universe are you venturing into? Or perhaps what I asked is too much for you to handle, which I can understand given that you have a life outside of work, and It's not my intention to cause trouble."

With Jackson's silence raising the possibility that he had a girlfriend, Anastasia spoke out right away because she did not want to affect their relationship for her selfish reasons.

"Whoa... No, whatever you are calculating is not reality. My life is empty, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest to be the one to turn away your admirers. If you address me as your husband in public, I won't mind," Jackson stated casually with a mischievous look, thinking of taunting her so she would give him more attention than just as a buddy. However, he noticed that Ana's demeanor had changed dramatically as if his comments had affected her mood.

He spoke up hurriedly, “I am just kidding. Do not ruin your mood by taking my words to your heart!" He was afraid of damaging their friendship because it was the only way he could continue to be near her.

"I don't, but I have a distinct dislike for the word HUSBAND. I'm not sure why," Anastasia answered with a tight smile before turning to face the desk.

At the time, a nurse raced into the chamber, huffing, demonstrating that she had come here running for an urgent matter.

"Doctor Jackson, there is a patient who was engaged in an accident and requires an immediate visit. Although there is no severe harm to his body, his people are quite demanding, and no nurse is able to visit his room to assess his situation," the nurse urgently stated.

"Do you know who this individual is?" Jackson inquired, perplexed, because he hadn't encountered such a demand before. Plus, he couldn't visit a new patient while having a crucial visit to another patient within a minute.

"No, none of us are permitted to enter the room because his people are standing outside with firearms, and they ordered that only a doctor enter to see their boss," the nurse explained.

"Call Doctor Lumas as I need to see another patient and cannot take on a new patient in his place. Furthermore, if the patient in question is not in critical condition, any doctor can take care of him," Jackson added, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Umm! Doctor Lumas is on vacation, Dr." The nurse responded, looking at Anastasia as her thoughts continued to tell her how a girl could be this lovely.

However, Ana misinterpreted her look and remarked, "Let me tend to this patient."

Jackson turned around and stated, "This is your first day, and I believe you should not begin working immediately."

"The patient isn't serious, Jack, so there won't be any job for me," Anastasia said, grabbing a new stethoscope from the table.

"Thank you, Dr. Let me guide you there!" The nurse said and turned around, running out of the chamber, Anastasia following her. She arrived at the VIP wards with the nurse, who accompanied her to the private lift reserved solely for doctors. When they approached that particular chamber, the nurse discovered that there were no Guards outside the room that had been there since the patient's arrival. She found this unusual.

"Is this the ward?!" Anastasia asked.

"Yes, doctor! But where did the guards go?"

"It doesn't matter, remain here; I'm going inside!" Anastasia spoke and softly pushed the door.

She discovered a man asleep with his head on the other side. As she approached the bed, Ana saw no scrapes or bruises on the man, who was in a white shirt and jeans. She bent forward and gripped his wrist to check on his condition, but the patient's eyes sprung wide, and he grabbed Anastasia's hand, staring at her with murderous eyes.

"You are hurting me, Ah!" Anastasia hissed.
