While I was digging into the details of my sales and orders, the little monsters managed to explore my office inside and out. My collection of miniature models of the most expensive cars and motorcycles got the most attention.

“Hey, careful with that!” I look at the troublemakers who’ve already pulled a black Bugatti Veyron off the shelf. “One model like that can cost as much as all your toys combined.”

“We’re bored,” Egor whines, pouting. “When are we going to see your bike, Uncle Nazar?”

“Can we sit on it?” Andry perks up, staring at me expectantly.

“I wanna too!” the little one starts squeaking.

“I’ll see how you behave,” I try to tone down the bandits’ excitement. “Maybe I’ll allow it. It all depends on you.”

Like magic, the kids went quiet and turned into pure perfection. While I wrapped up my business, not one of them made a sound, all waiting to saddle the metal beast.

Childish gasps of awe and anticipatory sighs reached me when we stepped into the workshop, where my fiery steed stood apart from the rest. Their eyes widened and shone as they stared at that powerful masterpiece. I had to keep my promise and let the little destroyers climb onto my bike. It was hilarious watching them imitate engine roars and racing sounds, imagining themselves as bikers. Even Soli got swept up in the boyish hype and played racer. Feeling unexpectedly soft, I even snapped a few photos of them on my phone. I’ll have to send them to my brother and Vicky.

While the boys were spinning around and admiring my monster, I noticed Soli quickly lost interest and was standing there, all puffed up.

“Solomiya, what’s wrong?” I crouch down to her level, and she looks at me with a hurt expression.

“I’m hungry…” the little one whispers quietly, almost ashamed, and I suddenly want to smack myself on the forehead. We’ve been out so long, and it didn’t even occur to me that they might be hungry!

“Don’t be sad!” I smile at the cutie, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “We’re going to a pizzeria right now!”

“Yay!” I hear the boys cheer in support. “We’re hungry too!”

That settled it. Saying goodbye to my staff, we head to a local pizzeria near the huge city park. At this time of day, it’s packed with people walking around with their kids, and finding a table for us turns out to be no easy task. So we order our food to go instead. No big deal. An improvised picnic on a bench somewhere might be even more fun!

Grabbing our food and drinks, satisfied, we head for the exit. In the distance, I spot a remote empty bench and aim straight for it. But after taking a couple of steps, I don’t notice a girl about ten years old crashing into me. She bounces off painfully and lets out a groan.

“Oh! Sorry, kid! I didn’t see you at all,” I apologize to the little girl, and she lifts her miserable gray eyes to me, full of regret and guilt.

“I’m sorry,” she tucks her head into her shoulders. “I was hurrying to my mom and wasn’t looking around. I didn’t mean to…”

“Don’t apologize,” I smile at the distracted little blonde without malice, briefly noting her slightly messy appearance and worn-out clothes. “It can happen to anyone.”

“Sorry again…” lowering her eyes, the girl quickly disappears toward a small crowd of women.

Adjusting our food in my hands, I nod to the kids toward the bench, where we settle down. Judging by how fast they devour their slices, I realize they were seriously hungry, which makes me want to smack myself even harder.

But once they’re full, they catch a second wind and drag me to the nearest playground. And I’m good Uncle Nazar, after all. So I let my nephews and niece burn off some extra energy on the slides and swings.

While they go wild on the playground, I glance around, and my gaze freezes on one spot, unable to look away. On one of the benches sits a beautiful woman who somehow pulls me in and locks my attention on her. I can’t take my eyes off her.

Standing there like an idiot isn’t an option, and I’m not a shy guy. So I decide to walk over to the gorgeous stranger and get to know her better.

When we returned home, we had a serious conversation waiting with the kids. Honestly, I was a little afraid of it, because I didn’t know what to expect from Masha.“So, little gang,” I address the children, and Masha rolls her eyes in her usual manner. “Anya and I talked, figured out a lot, and now we’re together as a couple. We’ve also decided it makes sense to end our bet.”“Great,” Masha muttered, while Luka visibly drooped. “So now you’re trying to politely tell us to get off your territory. We get it…”“No! Masha, you need to learn not to interrupt adults!” I look sternly at the blonde. “We actually wanted to tell you the opposite! You can stay with us as long as you want. No, not even like that… we’d LIKE you to stay with us.”“What’s with the generosity?” our almost-daughter narrows her eyes suspiciously.“Well, you’re not unhappy with us, are you?” Anya gently joins in.“No,” the blonde snorts. “We’re not cursed, not beaten, and you pay for everything. What’s there to complain

Nazar Yartsev:Anya’s story threw me into shock and real rage. Now everything fell into place. I understood her behavior toward me, the kids, the bet, and everything that had been happening between us all this time. She carries guilt that Denis, that goat, dumped entirely on her, after daring to reproach a young girl for being infertile.I have no intention of leaving things as they are. I have plenty of interesting connections, and this Vernadsky will be dealt with. There’s no way a businessman like him is completely clean before the law. Especially considering his attraction to underage girls. Anya sees the situation from her side, but I can say with confidence: there’s an unhealthy pull toward children there.Sixteen years old! Fuck, she was only sixteen, and he went after her! He wasn’t some teenage boy like Anya herself, someone she could try adult life with. Back then, he was already an established, conscious man! Which means this Denis may have some very ugly skeletons in his c

“Anya, everything’s possible!” Yartsev says firmly, holding me like I’m the most precious thing he has. “Do you love Masha and Luka?”“Yes…” I sniffle, because I really did grow to love them.“Then that’s perfect! I won’t be able to leave them either anymore, even if I lose our bet! Look at us! We’re ALREADY a family! And I’ll do everything to keep it that way. I’ll fight tooth and nail for custody if I have to! Their mother’s out of her mind. She can lose parental rights…”What he says honestly shocks me so much I stop crying for a second, but Yartsev looks dead serious, and I realize he absolutely means every word.“I only need your consent. I love you more than life itself. Tell me, are you willing to take responsibility for our family’s happiness together with me?”“Why do you even need me? Like this… I’m a broken doll, Nazar!” I try to push him away, but he only holds me tighter. “Completely useless! I honestly don’t understand what there is to love about me! I’m a stripper who c

  • Deep Trouble With You   85 Ann's Story

Ann Shumilskaya:Everything felt like it wasn’t really happening to me, like I was trapped in some kind of fog. I stared at the small stage and couldn’t believe my eyes, and even more so, my ears. There he was in all his glory, completely satisfied with himself and his life. Denis. The nightmare and biggest regret of my entire life. The way that bastard practically glowed while proudly talking about HIS CHILDREN pushed me right to the edge. I was falling back into the past again, drowning in the pain I went through because of that asshole.“We met when I had barely moved up into senior classes. I was sixteen. Just some inexperienced girl who went to ballet classes and dreamed about the big stage. Like a lot of girls my age…”I fall silent, while Nazar watches me carefully, and I can already see he doesn’t like where this story is going.Well, he wanted the truth. Let him shovel it in with both hands now.“He was older, more experienced, all cocky and unattainable, and his bangs fell o

“Anya…”“I… I…” my beloved stammers, lowering her gaze and blinking rapidly. “You guys… have fun without me. I need to go home right now… I don’t feel good. I…”“Anya!” I grab her shoulders and shake her lightly, forcing her to look at me. I do not like what’s happening to her. Not one fucking bit.“I… I…” her eyes shine with tears, filled with such pain that it makes me feel sick too. The brunette can’t even form a sentence anymore, and she starts trembling.“Fuck!” I curse. “Kids, sorry, we need to go home.”Seeing Anya’s condition, the kids didn’t argue at all, only exchanged worried glances. I grabbed Ann and Luka by the hand, and we headed for my car.We drove in silence. My beloved disappeared deep into herself, staring blankly out the window, while the kids tried not to make a sound. The second we got into the apartment, the smart little brats vanished into their room, while Anya headed straight for our bedroom. I followed right behind her, not even considering leaving her alon

A few more days passed. Less than a month remained until the end of the bet. We were still deeply involved in the kids’ lives. School, work, home, entertainment, squeezing Ann whenever I could. Though now the school had opened different sports clubs, so Luka had officially become a beginner football player!Masha, meanwhile, had zero interest in any of those activities whatsoever, same as school. Though interestingly enough, the brat did homework without enthusiasm, could sit around doing absolutely nothing during lessons, yet somehow still managed to get excellent grades. Slippery little snake. The kid had talent. But Anya refused to give up and decided to put the girl on the pole. Surprisingly, once Masha saw the kind of insane tricks the brunette could pull off on it, she immediately got excited too. They trained for over an hour, practicing the basics, and the girl was genuinely happy. But when we saw the horrific bruises covering the kid’s body afterward, we decided not to contin
