24. The Children

Zion put his sword away once he saw me approaching them and a smile that met his eyes rested on his face. I walked into his embrace before I wrapped my arms around him.

“Hello, brother,” I said before pulling back from him and he kept me in a side hug.

“Mia, are you quite alright?” Zion curiously asked me, and I nodded at him before I went over to hug our father.

“Hello Mia,” my father said, and I simply nodded at him in a greeting manner.

“I am quite alright, brother. Wherever is our mother? She would never miss a trip as big as this.” I said and Zion placed his hand on his sword as a light frown settled on his forehead.

“Mia, Mother suffered a fall down the stairs on the last full moon. Her wolf is unable to heal her so she is healing slower than she usually would.” Zion said and I frowned at him.

“Has she gotten better?” I asked in shock and Zion looked over at our father.

“She might not survive this, Mia,” Father said, and my eyes widened in shock.
