Chapter 10

"Are you okay?" I heard Bran asked.

I sighed and gave him a small smile.

"Yeah, don't mind me," I said and focused on my food again.

We were in his favorite french restaurant. And ever since what I saw in the parking, I wasn't really in the mood.

I just feel sorry for Bran. Sure, he's annoying, but he asked me out politely and the least thing that I could do is to actually enjoy and treat him well. But I just cannot force myself bring back my mood.

Damn, Felice. What the hell is happening with you? So what if he's with someone? So what?

"Hey, you really okay?" Bran asked again. I sighed and looked at him apologetically.

"I'm sorry, but can I go already? I'm really not feeling well." I bit my lip as I said that.

I saw his face saddened, but he still managed to give me a small smile.

"Tss. Of course. But then, you'll have to eat with me again." I almost rolled my eyes, but in the end I just agreed.

Well, I guess it's just fair for him.

"Okay, shall we?" he asked. I nodded. He called the waiter for the bill.

"Let's go." He stood up after giving the bill back to the waiter.

I sighed and stood as well. I asked him to send me home already. Good thing because our beadle just texted to inform us that we will have a free cut for the next subject. I have no class anymore, so it's just fine. Plus, I don't even think I could still stay at school when I'm feeling like this.

It's still very early. We arrived at our house at around 2:30 pm.

"Thanks," I said to Bran when he parked outside our house. He just smiled and gave me a salute.

I rolled my eyes again. He chuckled.

"But you owe me another lunch, aight?"

"Yeah. Just one last lunch," I corrected him and unbuckled my seatbelt.

I heard him laugh. He shook his head and looked at me again.

"I'll go ahead," I told him and pushed the car door open.

I just waved my hand at him before I finally went inside our house.

Since it was just 2 in the afternoon, my parents werent there yet. They're usually home by 7 or 8. The earliest is at 6, if they don't have business meetings.

"Felice, you're home early," our house help head said. I just smiled at her and nodded.

"Free cut," I said.

"Good timing, your cousin is here." My forehead creased.

"Huh? Who?"She was about to answer when I heard an annoying shriek from the stairs.

"Felice!" Karrie screamed and run through our grand staircase.

I rolled my eyes and laughed at her.

"Cous!" she shouted again and jumped on me!

Oh my gosh!

"Karrie, wait! Hey! I cannot breathe!" I tried to get her away from the hug,but this witch is stronger and taller!

"The hell, Karrie!" I cursed.

That's when she let out an annoying laugh. The witch then grinned at me. I glared at her, but she just smirked and laughed again.

Ugh. Whatever!

"What are you doing here?" I asked and crossed my arms.

She shrugged.

"Why? Am I not allowed to visit you?" Her eyes narrowed. I rolled my eyes.

"You have class," I stated. She shrugged again and slumped her back on the couch.

"You go ahead and change, then let's watch a chic flick! Go!" She wiggled her brows and got hold of our Smart TV's remote.

I sighed frustratingly and went upstairs.

I just put on my bag on the study table and changed to my comfy house clothes. I have a reading for our recit tomorrow, but it's still early so I guess I'd be able to read that later.

Plus, I'm not really in the mood for some school work. I need a chill activity.

I got my phone. I suddenly stopped and thought about it. On the second thought, I can ask Karrie about what I feel. But that witch is tactless. That might reach mom and dad.

Ugh.

I groaned in frustration and just shook my head.

Just fucking watch netflix, Felice!

***

We spent almost all our time in the afternoon watching different movies. We were on our third movie when I noticed Karrie frowning at her phone. Then she would scribble some text on it.  Then her face would turn sour again.

What's this witch's problem?

I slightly nudged her. She didn't even flinched. I nudged her again. This time she made a face and looked at me.

I laughed.

"You're not cute," I said. She glared at me and pouted even more. The freak?

"Seriously, Karrie, it's not cute." I chuckled. She rolled her eyes.

I stopped laughing and leaned on the back of the couch.

"What's wrong?" I asked.  She frowned.

"Nothing. I just found out that he has a girlfriend already. And you know what's frustrating? He's still flirted with me! Of course I flirted back! Then...ugh! This is so annoying!"  My mouth formed 'o' with what she said.

That sucks.

Looks like someone ghosted my cousin, huh.

I shook my head and grabbed some popcorn from the bowl. Well at least she's not some student who's got a crush on her professor and is fucking jealous just because she saw him with a woman...oh fuck.

My face heated at that thought.

What the freak?!

My lips parted and my hand automatically touched my heating face. Fuck!

I gulped and looked at the small vanity mirror beside the smart tv. My face was so red! It was like a smashed tomatoe!

My heart skipped a beat. The picture of Sir Greg opening that door for the woman played back in my head over and over again. Then I felt a slight pang inside my chest.

I frozed on my seat.

"Hey, what happened to you?"

I almost jumped on my seat when Karrie touched my arm. My eyes widedened when our eyes met. Her forehead creased. She raised her brows and surveyed my face as if she was looking for something.

I gulped and quickly avoided her gaze.

Shit.

"Are you hiding something?" Her narrowed eyes looked at me intensely.

I immediately shook my head.

Fudge. Felice, this is not right anymore! That just a stupid crush! Why the hell are you reacting like that?! You must fucking end that up!

I shut my eyes tightly and took a heavy sigh.

"Gosh, you're weird." I even heard Karrie.

I opened my eyes and looked at her, but she's already on her phone again.

I sighed in relief.

Gosh.
