Chapter 4 - Sleeping With A Demon

Talia

I wake up uncurling and stretching. I slept like a log. However, I freeze when my hand grabs something soft that doesn't feel like a pillow. The air seizes in my throat. Please don't tell me—

As I slowly look down to check where I am, my eyes almost bulge out of their sockets.

What. The. Heck.

I'm still inside the dreamland of that book!

Thail is underneath me!

My hand squeezes his large pectoral, and my cheeks redden when I realize I'm straddling him.

The demon isn't awake, but his body is warm and at the perfect temperature. Now that I'm awake, my breast feels all weird and heavy around him, which is so strange. My body is acting up around him.

Geez.

How come I'm so attracted to him?

I like what I'm seeing, I admit to myself. Something about my large demon friends fills me with pleasure, and I relax a little, relishing the skin-to-skin contact. I stroke his hot, brown skin. He is like a furnace, and I realize I'm wet and slick between my thighs.

Uhhh, this is so weird...

I sit up, about to slide off his body, but Thail chooses that moment to open his eyes and grab my legs, locking me in place. He blinks several times, and then his eyes fill with admiration the second he sees me straddling him.

The purring sound returns and my nipples immediately harden when his lips curl into a dazzling smile.

Wow. Okay. Um… Inappropriate reaction much, body? I have no idea why I'm responding so strongly to Thail.

I mean... I like Thail for letting me sleep on top of him. He prevented me from dying since I would have frozen to death. Yet I'm unsure if I like him enough to grab his horns and go to town... Wait, is that his rock-hard dick poking me in the ass?

Holy shit, huge dick energy!

A shiver rockets through me. Okay... Maybe I like Thail enough to think dirty thoughts. Which is bizarre. The guy is what? Eight feet tall with a tail, and I'm into him?

That's crazy.

I need to find a way to get home and leave this place. Being around this demon isn't good for my mental health.

"Talia."

That voice...

I blink down, meeting a pair of affectionate, glowing eyes. Thail is still purring like a cat, and I blush, perfectly aware that I'm naked and suggestively straddling him. My arousal is sliding down my inner thigh, and it's humiliating.

Still, I force a smile. "Uhh... Good morning?"

Thail appears amused. I'm positive he doesn't understand me, yet he fixes his gaze on my lips, repeating my words. Or tries to.

"Gaawd-maning."

Close enough.

I smile and nod, gesturing at the fireplace because I really need to get off him since I'm embarrassingly wet.

"We should make a fire," I point at his firewood. "Fire."

Immediately his expression turns worried. His glowing, orange gaze moves over my naked limbs, and there is a low rumble in his throat. I don't need an explanation for what it means because I'm pulled to lie back on top of him with his wings curling around me like blankets.

He must have thought I was freezing. My heart pounds faster at that—such a thoughtful demon. I don't know why he cares about my well-being, but I'm not complaining.

Not when I meet his eyes and see the relief on his face. I'm no longer cold, and I swear his happy expression is him being pleased with himself for helping me.

His hand feels nice when it squeezes my ass, and the purring sound from his chest is like music in my ears.

The only problem is that he is scorching hot, and I don't mean the temperature of his body. Nope, it's finally settling in that this guy is a man, a pretty well-endowed one with the body of a god.

Mu pussy tingles with need, the little horny whore, and I fight a groan. I need to stop playing house with the gorgeous, sexy demon and find my way back home.

And I really need to visit the bathroom. Though I suspect there isn't any toilet here, and I grimace. I might have to do my business in some desert bush outside this cave.

But how do I communicate that to my friend?

"Thail," I say, gaining the attention of the demon. He locks his curious eyes on me, and I plaster on a smile. "I need to go to the bathroom. You probably can't understand me, but... Would you mind releasing me?"

No response.

I'm only getting stares, which makes me sigh and lift my arm. I point toward the entrance. "I want to go over there."

I don't expect him to let me go. But to my surprise, he seems to understand it's urgent. Thail mumbles something in his own language, and then he stands up to his full height, pulling me up with him.

Holy moly.

He is intimidating now that my head is by his abs, but I don't overthink it. My body might be humming around him, yet I head for the entrance like a woman on a mission.

Or I would if Thail didn't grab my shoulder. I whip around to look at him. My eyes lock on his orange ones, and he smiles.

"It's cold outside, and you need clothes. My magic might be weak since we haven't mated, but I can at least summon this."

I have no idea what he said, but suddenly, his hand glows in blue, and then he is holding a dark dress that looks like a potato sack in color. Though, since I'm cold, I can't be picky.

I grab it from him. "Thank you."

Pleased with me thanking him, Thail wanders away to put on some clothes himself. I take the time to gather my pajamas and wear them underneath the oversized desert dress he gave me.

Thail himself has covered up his chest, which is a letdown. Now there is no more checking out his abs, but perhaps this is a good thing? I should be focusing on getting home.

Oh, and peeing.

"Bathroom," I tell the demon and point at the entrance.

In response, Thail shakes his head as if saying "no," but I point at my crotch in frustration. That gets his interest. The purring starts again until I make a "pss" sound, and he laughs at me instead.

Amusement washes over his handsome features while my cheeks burn in humiliation. "You understood that, didn't you?"

He simply smiles, and I frown before walking toward the entrance. I'm blushing and currently being followed by Thail. Whenever I turn back to look at him, he seems to stifle a laugh.

What is so funny?!

I glare up at him, and his teeth show in a smile. He makes the "pss" sound, and I gasp when he cracks up after.

"You bastard!" I bark at him, yet I cannot help myself from laughing. The sound is funny, but come on! How else was I supposed to explain to him that I needed to use the bathroom?!

I push at the demon's chest. Thail doesn't even budge and raises an eyebrow as if to taunt me. His smirk seems to say, "Do you even lift, bro?" I shake my head before sauntering off.

"Wait here."

Thail stops in his tracks. I'm glad he seems to understand I need space as I shovel through the sand toward a place with cactuses. I do my business peacefully. It's nice and heaven until I realize the ground shakes underneath me.

Earthquake?

"Talia!" Thail shouts.

My eyes lock onto the demon as I pull up my clothes. Thail's wings are spread, but my view gets blocked by a creature that erupts from the sand. There is a deafening screech and holy moly! Is that a giant caterpillar?!

The monstrous purple creature that erupts from the sand looks like it could be poisonous. There are green flecks on it, and its giant teeth clamp as it screeches again—louder this time.

GRAAAAAHHHH!

The deafening sound sets things into perspective. The caterpillar is the size of a bus, and it seems hungry. I wouldn't stand a chance if it attacked me. Which means… Oh boy. Should I start running?!

Another sound erupts from the giant, disgusting caterpillar, and I decide to race away from it.

My pulse is booming.

My heart is thumping painfully fast.

I create some distance, but unfortunately, the caterpillar is quicker than me. It lowers its head, screeches, and grabs me by the dress. I'm thrown up in the air like it's nothing.

"TALIA!"

Thail is shouting while I'm screaming. I'm high up in the air, terrified because I realize the creature is waiting with an open mouth below me. It's going to eat me!

I scream at the top of my lungs, only stopping when Thail crash into me to grab me in his arms. For a moment, I feel safe seeing his face. But the terror returns when the creature bites a large chunk from his wing.

Thail cries out in pain as we crash down from the sky like a comet. My demon friend hugs me to his chest while wailing, determined to protect me until the end. Faster than lightning, he spins around and lands on his back in the sand with a thud.

I'm fine and tumble out of his grip, but Thail is hurt. His blood is coloring the sand around him red, and the caterpillar isn't far away. It screeches and locks its angered gaze on us.

I stand frozen in place, unsure of my next move. I could try running for it, but what about Thail?! He saved me, but I can't possibly move him! If he stays here, though, he will die! What should I do?

Fear makes time seem to pass in slow motion. The caterpillar is coming toward us, and Thail lifts his head.

"Talia... Leave me, please. I don't want to die for nothing. Save yourself and make it back to the cave."

Thail and I might not speak the same language, but even I understand what he said—the idiot told me to leave him to die! How could I possibly do that after he jumped in front of the caterpillar to save me?!

Tears spill from my eyes. Thail is smiling, saying something that I bet must be something like, "I won't blame you," which only constricts my chest until I can barely breathe.

How could Thail ask me to leave him?!

The caterpillar is coming closer, yet I don't make a move. In a minute, it will finish off Thail. But I won't leave him. Never.

I grab a stick from the ground and do something crazy. I hold it like a sphere and do a battle cry before running at full speed toward the caterpillar—no one hurts my demon!
