Devil's Smile

The two magicians were apprehended and led over. They were no longer wearing their mask or hood covers. The first wizard appeared to be a little older, and scholarly, but with a trace of viciousness in his terrified and anxious gaze.

And then there's the second mage... I immediately recognised who it was after the mask was taken off.

"Such an odd coincidence, Mr Alfred." I laughed.

"Do you believe that I purposely caused you to suffer in this life?" I couldn't help but laugh once again. This was the person who pretended to be arrogant and powerful despite having only mediocre talents because he was a product of the Red Tower.

So a warhorse made love to him. The pain must have been cured, otherwise, he would have healed it by now, given how evolved magic is.

Yet, surely, even magic cannot alleviate psychological pain?
