Chapter 1

*Neville Pov*

“What do you mean by what will we do about it? We are not going and that’s it. I can’t stay at any crowded place at all, with all the suffocation.” I heard my darling step mom commenting and darling is nothing but sarcasm.

“But, Jennifer! He is my cousin and we can’t skip his son’s marriage right?” I heard my Dad’s voice making me roll my eyes and immediately walked near to the dining table.

“Good morning!” I said before dropping myself in a chair before switching on some song in my ipod to escape these people’s talks.

“Nev!” I heard a shout and removed my earphones to see both of them looking at me.

“What is it?” I asked frowning.

“My relative is going to get married.” Dad stated.

“So?” I asked him raising my eyebrow.

“It is in India.” He continued not giving any heed to my words.

“And?” I asked disturbing him not caring as he doesn’t seem to be doing the same.

“And the bride is your Mom’s daughter.” Hearing his reply I couldn’t say a single word but just sat in stillness.

I glanced at my step mom to see her smirking at me, which actually brought me out of my shock.

“So what? It is not like we are ever going to India. You both hate the place and I never know the place.” I said, shrugging, but inside it is squeezing me so much.

“We are going to India?” I heard a shrill voice and turned to see Kate walking near to the table with a horror look.

“No, darling!” her Mom said, assuring her.

“We need not go, Kate.” Dad said smiling at her.

What a happy family? There is one happy family in a similar way in India. And who is not within these both? The one and only me.

Wow! How lucky am I! I thought, shaking my head and stood up to leave the house before I had to see another happiest moment of the happiest family.

Why did I react shock hearing about my Mom? Why wouldn’t I? I mean the person who said she will call regularly and meet me in the middle did something quite opposite.

She did call within a month, but just to say that she can’t call me again or even meet me forever as her new would-be husband will not accept.

And here my Dad just got married hearing her wedding news to his already one month girlfriend who turned out to be a typical step mom.

Why are you wasting time thinking about all these people, Nev? They are happy and you should be happy finding it for yourself.

“Hello?” I mumbled lifting the call.

“Is something wrong?” I heard a familiar voice making me smile.

“No! Just as usual things. Where are you, Nicole?” I asked, getting inside my car.

“I will reach near your office and meet you before leaving.” She replied and I hung up before starting the car.

Every day it is the same routine. I mean I am twenty four and is just working in some company. It is not a small job, of course with my luck, but still there is something missing.

“Hey! So, take this bag and keep it with you. I don’t want all these things and thanks for helping me, Nev.” Nic rushed passing the bag.

“I will kill you if you behave like I am doing some huge thing. You just go and enjoy your new job, but even let me know about the new city and your place.” I said warning her.

“Sure!” she said, kissing my cheek and walked away.

I sighed and walked inside, nodding at the watchman and the receptionist wishing me and got inside the elevator.

“Hey babe!” I heard the words when I stepped into my floor and before I could say a word lips got pressed to mine.

I kissed him back before moving away saying, “Hey to yourself and this greeting.”

“What can I say? I am just amazing.” John said winking at me before circling my waist and pulled me to him.

“Not here! Everyone will pass by this.” I said, pushing him away and walked towards my cabin.

After a few minutes I heard a knock and I called the person who turned out to be John itself.

“May I come in, madam?” he asked grinning.

“Sure!” I replied, smiling back.

“So, no one is here and how about an office quickie?” he asked raising his eyebrow.

“Nope! This fantasy of yours will never be fulfilled. And I will have to work here even in future.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Ok! Let’s go to my flat today.” He offered and I nodded smiling.

“Great! Expect to be amazed.” He said, moving towards the door.

“I am already, but just take this file and check out the details.” I said, giving him a file which he took nodding.

“Ok, madam!” he said grumbling.

“Don’t worry! Here is the only place you have to say madam.” I said to which he laughed and left the cabin.

John is great! I mean way greater than my before two boyfriends who just turned out to be jerks though.

We have been dating for the past one year, which is huge for me and he doesn’t have any ego problem that he is working under me.

I grinned before started working on the new architecture which seems to be on the verge of ending.

“I missed you!” he mumbled the moment we walked inside his flat.

“We just had a date last weekend.” I said between our kisses.

“Well, but I still missed you.” He whispered and tugged my shirt while I started helping him.

“Sure you did.” I joked pushing him again and he groaned shaking his head.

“Just accept it, Nev.” He said smiling and pulled me to him again before we both fell on his couch itself.

“What are you thinking?” he asked playing with my hair after our love making.

“I am thinking, maybe it is time for you to meet my Dad.” I replied and he immediately stilled.

“Are you sure?” he asked, raising his eyebrow.

“Yes! I will tell him about you on this weekend.” I replied closing my eyes smiling.

Well, at least the world of mine with friends and boyfriend is great and this is enough for me. Let the sweetest families have their sweetest moments for themselves.
