“And you didn’t get a glimpse of the person?”

I shake my head and Director Yearwood frowns before glancing at Rachel who’s standing by the side of the desk. “This isn’t good.”

I don’t meet Rachel’s eyes, my thoughts focused on the bottle. The only person who would have a reason to make the bottle disappear is her.

“This is the third time a student has been attacked in the tunnels this month alone.”

The Director’s words have me stiffening. This month?!

Does this mean that the attack had nothing to do with me?

Till now, I had been assuming that it had been Rachel down in the tunnels. But Rachel had no reason to attack Quill. And the attacker clearly knew we were separating, and they went after Quill when I would have been a closer target.
