Elena's POV

My eyes fluttered open, trying to sit up and a sharp pain shot through my head. I tried to remember what happened before I went in unconscious. Just as the memory flooded in, the very reason for my fall, walked into the room - Leila.

Her face was calm as ever, and anyone who only met her now would think she was not a monster. She sat on the empty chair beside the bed, crossing her legs before speaking.

“What were you two talking about?” she asked, making me frown. This annoyed her and for a minute, the calm on her face disappeared. “Don't act silly with me. I pushed you earlier but I can do worse. Now, what did he speak to you about?”

“We were not discussing anything” I said. If she wanted the information, she should get it directly from him. I was still hurt by his words and I could not say it before her.

Leila stood as she began “Well..” she continued, slowly moving around the room with a grin on her face.

“At least you've lost the child, there's no connection between you both that can make you hope on for the relationship to work” she said

My heart sank, my eyes widening as I subconsciously moved my hands to my stomach. I didn't want to believe what she just said was true. A tear tried to escape my eyelids but I tried to hold it back. Leila stared at me with a satisfied smirk, seeing my expression.

“You are lying to me. My child is-”

“Get off your lazy back and start working. There is a lot you need to do” she said, leaving the room.

My gaze remained on the door after Leila left. My child was only two weeks old and they killed it. They thought they had won. Leila thought she had brought me down but I won't let her see me cry anymore. I would be strong for my child.

The mansion bustled with people moving in and out of the event hall. It has been two days since I lost my child. Alpha North did not come to me once but he allowed Leila subject me to all kinds of torture at the slightest provocation. Yesterday, I was whipped because I overslept from being stressed.

I could no longer cry as that was all I did and it only made them hurt me more. I walked into the kitchen and a made shoved a tray in my hands, almost spilling the wine on it. “Take that to Luna Leila in the hall” the maid said, squeezing her face in disgust at me.

Since my demotion to being a slave, that was all I got, disgust from those that claimed to have loved me. I glanced at the two glasses of wine on the tray and left for the hall. My body ached but who was I to complain?

Stepping into the grand hall, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful designs of the hall. It was filled with a soft ethereal glow, twinkling string lights and lanterns like the full moon hung from the ceiling. The walls were adorned with silver and blue drapes, while the tables were dressed in linens, glowing candles and crystals.

Leila and her friend, stood at the corner while they scrutinized what the other servants were doing. Reluctantly, I approached.

“Liela, is all this necessary? Don't you think you need to be a little low key since, you know” Liela's friend asked

“No, I need this. That way I can show everyone I was Luna despite Alpha North's...” Liela paused as she noticed my presence.

She sized me up and I bowed, not wanting to be punished once again. “Took you long enough” Leila said and picked the wine glasses, passing the other to her friend. She waved her hand quickly dismissing me.

Hours later, the hall was quickly filled with guests. This was the only time I was made to put on something other than sack clothes. A thought came to mind as I served and that was to run away. Everyone was busy. Leila loves the attention and Alpha North seemed to be entertaining his guests.

They would not be aware of my absence and if they did, I might be long gone. I felt stupid for not planning this earlier. I could not stay here. I needed to leave once the time was right. I was quick to serve the guests, my eyes casually glancing at the door every few minutes. It slowly became dark and I could use that to my advantage.

Once I saw an opportunity, I walked out of the hall, trying my best to go unnoticed. I ran into the maids room, grabbed my bag and shoved a few clothes in it. Once it was set, I went to the kitchen. I needed food if I was going to survive being out for days.

There were a few maids around and I tried my best to act calm as I pickes up a few trays of food. Once I was out of the kitchen, I rushed to my room and hid it behind the door before returning to the kitchen to get a flask to put it all in. My heart kept pounding in my chest but I felt this was my only opportunity to freedom and I had to take it.

Once I picked it up, a maid stared at me in confusion. “Luna Leila asked for it” I said and the maid rolled her eyes and looked away.

I swallowed and rushed out back to the room and filled it up with food. Once ready, I placed the bag over my shoulder and quickly began making my way out. “Slave!” a maid yelled.

I froze for a moment but the next minute, I took to my heels. I was not sure if they had caught on my act or not but I needed to leave before I was caught. “Hey!” I heard the maid yell.

“Guards! The slave is getting away!” she alerted them.

Fortunately, I was able to get to the parking lot. I took a left but then I spotted the guards coming in that direction. I didn't have to be told that they were after me. I took the other side but more were coming in that direction too. I tried to hide behind cars, quickly running but they were all over.

“Over there!” I heard one say and I ran, heading for the gates.

Looking over my shoulder to see how close they were, I

collided into someone and just before I fell to the ground. I heard a voice. “Mate”

  • Desired By My Ex Alpha Mate    Chapter 44

Elena's POV The past few days have been nothing short of total quietness and peace. I had no troubles from the head maid and her minions even if that was suspicious on its own. The fact that they had suddenly began to warm up to me, trying to be friends with me was suspicious enough. However, I tried to put that aside and think of the more pressing problem I had ahead of me. My training. According to Cory, I was quite slow and seemed unfit for training like that. I wasn't like Vera who was smart and quick to learn anything new. And surprisingly, I was more pissed at myself than I was at Cory for being so blunt without being considerate about my feelings. All through the days, I couldn't stop thinking about what I could possibly do to make things better. To make myself better. I really wanted to become better at training. “What are you doing here alone?” The familiar voice dug deep into my thoughts, causing distractions. I quickly put down the book I had been reading beside me

  • Desired By My Ex Alpha Mate    Chapter 43

Alpha North’s POVI waited patiently even if my wolf and heart was in an uproar. The elders had been shocked by my rudeness. I knew of that but none of it could bother me that period of time. I kept shaking my legs like a little child who was scared of the punishment he would receive soonest. Sitting on the bed wasn't enough for me so I stood to my feet immediately, pacing up and about the room. I knew she wouldn't be home anytime soon so I sent her a text the minute I left the elders chambers. If she didn't want me to create a scene wherever she was, she was going to come back home to me because hell yeah! I was going to find her. When I heard the gate creak open, I walked to take a peep at the window. Then, I saw that she was the one who had driven in. I kept watching until she finally walked out of her car and began to walk into the house. It took me quite a while to walk away from the window because I couldn't stop staring. And each stare took me back to the picture I had seen

  • Desired By My Ex Alpha Mate    Chapter 42

Alpha North’s POVIt was another day to do the bidding of the elders. Although I couldn't explain the sudden pain I was beginning to feel in my chest ever since I woke up during the first cock crow. I winced in pain when I felt the sharp pain again. My wolf cried out, snarling and fighting. “Hold on little one. It'll be fine soon.” I comforted, my voice low but pleading enough. It took quite a while before my wolf calmed, growling silently. I was still sitting on the bed, but my heart broke even more when I stretched my hands backward, to feel nothing of her as I had expected. Again. This was one of those times where she chose to walk away from me in the middle of the night. And the only question that could play in my mind was where on earth had she gone to? Even if I wanted to know, I couldn't get a response because she was the only one who would have an answer to that. And when asked, the response would be nothing but lies as my heart would signal to me. “She is gone again.

  • Desired By My Ex Alpha Mate    Chapter 41

Elena's pov. “Elena,” I heard the call. It was loud enough. It was disturbing enough. And the only thing that could play in my head was who had just called me? “Elena, wake up.” My eyes flashed open the moment I heard the call. One quick observation was that I was no longer in my room nor was I on my bed. “Where am I?” The question left my lips immediately as I felt my face fold up on a wrinkle. Unfortunately, there was no response. Not even from the voice that had been calling. I realized almost immediately that everywhere was equally dark. I suddenly found myself walking towards an end in the middle of the darkness and a place I was sure I've never been. Neither did I even know where I was. But I succeeded in finding the switch attached to the end of the wall I had walked to and soon enough, everywhere was lit. “Weird.” I muttered to myself. The light didn't come up immediately. It kept blinking continuously, showing little fragments of light until the full light

  • Desired By My Ex Alpha Mate    Chapter 40

Olivia's pov.“That piece of shit!” I stormed the living room, thrashing every object present on the high table. My entire being burned in total anger, fuming. My wolf growled and snarled, ready to attack. I heard the footsteps of the maids and caught a quick glance of them as they scurried away, fright folded up on their faces. Luckily for them, they were the least of my problems. “You shouldn't get all riled up because of Elian.” I recognized the voice to be Oliver. “I swear to God, I'm going to crush both of them.” I stood back up to my feet, my eyes getting lost into space. “I think that would be a waste of time. I mean, are you sure he's really your mate? We don't want to go barking at the wrong tree.” His words caused my thoughts to stop immediately, and I turned to take a proper look at him. At first, I burst into a menacing chuckle, trying my best to stifle the anger at his statement. “You're my brother, yet you're so dumb. How on earth is that possible?” I questioned, e

Elian's pov.“Your pack is dying as the day goes by. So, you need Olivia's alliance. If other rival packs find out how weak you are as an alpha, they'd come knocking at your door.” Elder Dunbar opened up just before he walked out. “And what makes you think I'm a weak alpha?” “Every part of you reeks of fear, disturbances and most importantly, weakness.”“I can't get back with Olivia if that's what you're trying to insinuate. I choose my peace over anything else.” I fired. “Peace?” He snorted.“I'll find another way to protect my pack from any external attacks. It doesn't have to be all about Olivia. She can't be the only deal.” I argued, my blood boiling like it was about to burst open its kettle. “Are you just dumb? Or you're just being stubborn?” Elder Dunbar suddenly grabbed me by the collar. His hands were heavy while his eyes widened and darkened with anger. “You've been waiting on your damn sister for years now which I believe is the reason you've been stalling on claiming
