“You will die, Kahlan,” I repeated, with a scary expression so that she could feel threatened. It's the only way out.

Kahlan’s eyes went wide with shock as she didn't expect what I had said. I didn't expect it as well but as it turns out, it has to be this way.

“Take her away! Now!” Nyall ordered before he moved nearer to me.

I turned around and moved towards the meeting room with Nyall. I'm discussing with the elders concerning Kahlan.

The elders have grown impatient these days. And after they heard that the mating had been called off, they grew even more impatient.
