I had spent the night at her place, helping her get ready, making sure her hair and makeup were perfect, and coordinating the other bridesmaids. We had arrived at the venue early, and now all that was left was to wait to be called upon. “You’re glowing so much,” I said, standing behind her and brushing a stray curl from her face. “Don’t be nervous. Bryan is going to be blown away when he sees you.”Wendy’s cheeks flushed lightly. “Thank you, Emily… I don’t know what I’d do without you,” she whispered.I smiled again. “You’ll be amazing,” I said softly. “Just breathe, okay?”She nodded, taking a deep breath, and I reached out to adjust her veil one last time. I glanced at the other bridesmaids who were all ready too, quietly chatting and straightening their dresses. The soft hum of music floated in from outside, and the atmosphere started to buzz
Tyler's POV “Wait… you mean Mr. Harry gave Emily something that kind of got her intoxicated?” Ethan asked.I clenched my jaw as I drove, gripping the steering wheel tighter. I had already called Ethan on the way, letting him know what was about to go down. “We’re going to pay Harry a visit,” “But why would he do such a thing?”“Probably to take advantage of her,” I said, my voice low. “Remember I said the way he was looking at her didn’t sit well with me, but I was giving him the benefit of doubt.”“That’s crazy,” Ethan said. “How is Emily now?”“She’s fine. She got a bit of a hangover, so she’s resting.”I pulled the car up in front of Harry’s mansion and stopped. Security didn’t even bat an eye because they knew me. I got out, and stormed inside. “Harry!” I bellowed, my voice echoing through the lavish halls. “Get the fuck down here at this instant.”I shouted again, louder this time. “Harry!”From upstairs, I heard some movement. And then a woman I didn't recognize appeared. From
Emily's POV When I opened my eyes the next morning, the sunlight streaming through the curtains was so bright it forced me to shut them again. My head throbbed and I groaned softly, lifting a hand to my temple as a dull ache pulsed in my heaf. It felt like someone was knocking from the inside of my skull. I lay there for a moment, breathing slowly, hoping the pain would ease, but it didn’t. “What the hell…” I muttered hoarsely. My body felt heavy, my mind foggy, like I’d been pulled out of deep water too quickly. I stretched slightly, then froze when I noticed how exposed I felt. Slowly, I looked down. I was only in my bra and panties. My heart skipped. “What?” I whispered, sinking back into the mattress. For a second, panic flooded me, but then images began to surface, one after another, like broken pieces of a dream forcing their way back into place. The party. The lights. That fruity drink. Mr. Harry’s hand holding my wrist. Tyler’s arms around me. Tyler carrying me. My face pres
Tyler's POV Keeping my eyes off the rearview mirror was nearly impossible. Emily was practically naked in the back seat, sprawled comfortably, humming softly to herself. I clenched my jaw and kept staring at the road. Finally, I parked and turned the engine off. I exhaled and glanced back at her. She was sitting there, leaning against the seat, looking completely relaxed. “We’re home now,” I said softly.“Mm,” she murmured, barely lifting her eyes.I got out and went to her side. I couldn’t just carry her in like this. What if Mom was up? Or one of the staff? No one was supposed to see her like… that.“Um… okay, Emily,” I did the only rational thing I could think of. I shrugged out of my suit jacket and set it on the seat beside her. “Come on,” I muttered. “This will cover you.” She didn’t argue. She simply let me drape the jacket over her shoulders. It was far too big on her tiny frame, and so it covered her perfectly. I helped her out of the car and lifted her effortlessly into m
Tyler's POV I took a deep breath, tightening my hold on her. “We’re going home. Right now,” I said, leaving no room for negotiation. She hummed softly and wrapped her arms around my neck again, her cheek pressing against my chest. “Home?” she murmured.“Yes,” I repeated. She was far too drunk and the things she was saying shouldn't be heard by other people. I bent down carefully, still holding her with one arm, and picked up her shoes with the other. “Let’s go, okay?”She didn’t argue. Instead, she relaxed against me completely, her lips parting in a sleepy smile. “We’re going home,” she echoed, like she was convincing herself.“Yes,” I said softly. “We’re going home.”She tilted her head back slightly to look at me. “Why?” she asked.“Because you’re drunk,” I answered gently. “And you need to rest. I’ll get you home, you’ll lie down, and you’ll feel better.”She frowned a little, then snuggled closer. “But I’m resting like this,” she said quietly, her arms tightening around me. “In
Tyler's POV I carried Emily securely in my arms, adjusting my grip when she shifted, her fingers tangling lazily in my hair. She was completely drunk and could barely even stand on her own. I let out a slow sigh, my jaw tightening as I scanned the room. I still didn’t understand how this had happened. Emily barely touched alcohol. So why tonight? Had she tried to see if she could suddenly handle it or something?“Tyler,” she murmured, her voice soft, her cheek pressing against my chest.“I’m here,” I replied immediately, my arms tightening around her on instinct. She hummed happily, clearly pleased with that answer, and went back to playing with my hair.I should have taken her home the moment I smelled the alcohol on her breath. I knew that. Hell, every rational part of me was screaming it. But she had refused so adorably stubbornly. And so I decided to stay for a while.I had to admit, Emily was acting unbearably cute. Completely different from her usual self. Tomorrow, when she'd
