Chapter 10

     “No, I'm not kidding you. I detest stealing, so if you wish to lose two of your fingers, try and steal me food behind my back.” Alexander said.

“No, never, I won't steal your food.” Tanya said in a serious tone.

 Alexander just replied to her with a curt ‘hmm’ and turned around to leave when tanya stopped him.

 “Since, you aren't allowing me to eat without your permission, can i just take the bowl of fruits just for today?” Tanya asked in a pitifully voice.

Alexander; “can't you be any more shameless?” 

     Alexander stared at her pitifully face for seconds before nodding his and walking away. Staring at that face of hers keeps touching his heart.

     Tanya had a big smile on her face. It had been ages since she last felt vert happy before, and happy just because she was given a bowl of fruits. She remembered there was a time when she had varieties of fruits to eat and wouldn't even bother eating them just because she found the fruits non-appetizing, but now, who knew she would be so poor, to the point where she would get very excited just by being gifted a bowl of fruits.

       Tanya just shook her head at her dilemma and then carried to a bowl of fruits like a treasure as she took it back to her room.

     As soon as she got to her room, the smile on her face disappeared. She really hated this room, but she knew she couldn't complain, or else the devil may decide to let her sleep in the garden or the long empty corridor. 

 Now, thinking about it, she seemed to prefer sleeping there rather than staying in this room. 

     She then picked up her phone and started playing games on it. Before she knew it, it was evening already. Her stomach growled loudly, and she decided to go downstairs to get dinner.

   As soon as she got downstairs, she met a middle-aged woman, who she guessed as the cook, serving food on the dining table. 

   The aroma of the food made Tanya's mouth water as she quickly walked over to the dining table and sat on the chair.

“Good evening, miss.” The cook vowed politely at tanya.

Tanya just nodded back at the woman and took a spoon from the table. 

   Her focus was on the food, and she couldn't wait to try the food out.

Just as she took a scope of the food, she heard a cold voice behind her.

“Didn't I tell you not to eat anything in this house without my permission?” 

Tanya, out of fear, instinctively raised her hand with full force to hit the person behind her.

  But, to her dismay, her hand was easily caught by Alexander, who raised a brow at her. “It's seems that not only have you refused to listen to my command, but you have also gotten the habit of hitting me whenever you get the chance.” 

  Tanya turned her as slowly as possible, silently praying that it was not who she thought it was, but to her dismay, the devil stood behind her, with her wrist in his tight grip, staring down at her in a menacing way. 

One thought immediately popped into her head. “I'm dead.” 

She had completely forgotten about him promising to chop off her fingers if she ate anything without his permission. 

 “Sirrr, urmmm, actually, there's this bad habit I have. I tend to forget things easily, so i forgot about your warning.” 

“Do you expect me to believe that?” Alexander asked.

Tanya heart skipped a beat as she heard his voice. She quickly got up from the chair in such a hurry that frightened the cook who was bringing orange juice to them.

    Tanya then bowed her head in a ninety degree position. Her long black hair fell on her face in a stunning and captivating way.

“Sir!!!” Tanya screamed, or more like shrieked in a terrifying way that even Alexander let go off her hand just to cover his ears.

“Just because you can't hit me like you wish to, you have decided to burst my eardrums, right?” Alexander asked while trying to suppress his fury.

“I'm sorry if I unintentionally tried to burst your eardrums. I'm only doing it to make you know how sincere I am with my apology. Please forgive me. Don't cut my fingers away.” Tanya said in a solemn voice. 

“Give me one good reason why I shouldn't cut off your fingers.”

 “Because it's wrong for you to cut the fingers of a beautiful lady like me.” Tanya said immediately, with a tone full off righteousness.
