Chapter 9

Alexander, who entered the room again to tell tanya that the bathroom was right behind the black curtain, was shocked when he got hit by the pillow hard.

Tanya, who realised she had hit Alexander, also paused her hand in mid hair. The last time she cried was when she was three years old, but suddenly, she felt like crying out of frustration.

Why did he have to come back inside at the wrong time?

"Do you really have a death wish?" Alexander asked in a bone-chilling voice.

"No, of course, I don't. It was a mistake caused by the slip of my hand." Tanya said as she chuckled awkwardly.

"Do you realise this is the third time you are actually hitting me today? Do you really want to die?" Alexander asked as he walked towards Tanya, step by step, like a monster walking towards it prey menacingly before devouring it.

Tanya also subconsciously took a step back, and the rhythm continued till Tanya's back hit the wall.

Alexander then placed his hand on the wall beside Tanya, cornering her like a little rat.

Tanya, who was looking anywhere else but at his face, felt as if she was suffocating. She tried her best to focus her gaze on the floor while resisting the temptation to look at his face. She had to admit that the stupid devil in front of her is a once in a lifetime handsome devil.

But the rich sandalwood scent on his body was making it hard for her to control herself from looking at him. Jist as she thought she would lose control, she heard Alexander say, "The next time you hit me, whether intentionally or not, I'll chop of two of your fingers." With that, he turned around and left the room, leaving Tanya breathing heavily.

After Alexander left the room, tanya looked around the room. She really didn't like the way everything was black in colour. There was a time she had always word black clothes, which was during the time she was blind.

She was the one who had specifically requested black clothes because, even if she had coloured clothes, it won't make any difference since she was born blind. All she could see was darkness, nothing more.

Since she miraculously regained her sight, she had always loathed the colour black. It always made her remember the fact that she was once blind, which made her feel scared of being blind again. The doctor diagnosed it as achromophobia.

It was already five pm in the evening, and Tanya just lay down on the bed, staring at the bulb, illuminating yellowish golden light. She pondered how her life suddenly took a u- turn.

About three months ago, she was living her normal life, her life of darkness, but ever since she regained her sight, countless incidents had happened. If someone had told her three months ago that something like this would happen to her, she would argue to death with the person.

After getting tired of staring at the ceiling, she took out her phone from her pocket, only for her to see countless messages from her family.

Lydia: "My dear Tanya, how are you doing? If you aren't doing fine, you can tell me, I'll come and pick you up.

Moses: "Tanya, are you okay?

Luna: " Sister, are you doing alright?"

As tanya read all the messages, she didn't feel an ounce of pity anyone.

Moses had always neglected her with the excuse of working hard, luna doesn't love her, but she's only pretending for Lydia's sake. As for lydia, tanya knew Lydia's love for her was out of pity. She thinks lydia feels obligated to take care of her. Even with all this in her head, tanya still loved lydia as a mother. When others neglected her, it was only lydia who stood by her through thick and thin.

She then replied only Lydia's message by saying she's okay and she shouldn't worry about her.

After replying to her, tanya got up from the bed and went outside the room. Because of her good memory, she remembered the way to the living room, so she went there. The kitchen is right beside the living room, so she entered the kitchen to drink a cup of water.

After drinking the water, she opened the fridge and saw nothing but vegetables in it. She closed the fridge back in disappointment. She was expecting to see snacks or maybe chocolate, but to her dismay, she found none.

Well, thinking more about it, a man like Alexander wouldn't want to keep something like that.

Just as she was about leaving the kitchen, she noticed a bowl full of fruits. A big smile spread on her face. Seeing the fruits made her realise that she had been hungry for all along. She hadn't eaten breakfast today all because of the meeting with the stupid devil. Who knew the devil would decide to keep her against her will.

Hungrily, she took an apple from the bowl and took a big bite.

"Are you stealing from me?" Tanya heard a voice come from the entrance.

She turned around only to see the devil's devilishly handsome face. Gosh, she really hated this stupid devil. How dare he say she's stealing.

But she knew even her ancestors wouldn't be able to say that to his face, so she just smiled politely and said, "I was hungry, so I decided to come downstairs to the kitchen to find something to eat, then I saw the apples and I took it. If I had known where you were, or maybe your room, I would have asked for your permission, but I didn't know, and I didn't even see the butler, so u decided to take the apple and then whenever I see you, I'll tell you that I took an apple."

Alexander was once again speechless by her fully detailed explanation. "You are lying, right? You have no plans of telling me about the apple?" Alexander asked in a matter of fact tone.

   Tanya, in her mind:'Yes.'

"No, why would I lie? I was planning on telling you." Tanya said with a serious expression.

Alexander just stared at her face, which looked like that of a cute, cunning fox.

"Starting from today, your first punishment would be, do not eat or drink anything in this house without my permission." Alexander declared.

Tanya: "............!!!!!!!!! You've got to be kidding me."
