Chapter 2

"Mark!!!"

I cried out as I ran towards him. He was finally back from his trip, and I couldn't wait to get into his arms. He had warned me not to receive him at the airport, but I couldn't help it.

His green eyes sparkled as he pushed me into his muscular arms. At 6'1, he towered over my ,5'4 slim body.

"I missed you" I blushed as he kissed my cheeks.

"Me too my dear. " He grinned.

"How was your trip?" I asked , as he picked up his bag and we left the airport.

"Hectic my dear. I wished I didn't go so I would be with you." He grumbled.

Mark is the heir of one of the biggest architecture firms hence he was being groomed to inherit it.

He comes from a long line of Casanovas, with green eyes, dark hair, and well toned body. He was one of the most influential bachelors in New York.

I had absolutely no idea why he fell for me. When I asked him, he said he loved my gentleness and delicate features, which were quite ironic. I could rip him apart in minutes if I wanted to.

Ofcourse, he doesn't know that yet, and I have no intentions of revealing it to him.... not yet.

"Were you the one that drove here?" He asked .

I nodded happily. This is one of our private jokes. I am an extremely fast driver, thanks to my wolf instincts. Even after driving like a lunatic, I never make any mistakes. It usually scares out most of my friends, including Mark.

So, I am forced to drive slowly, to keep them comfortable.

"Don't worry, I'll take it nice and slow." I grinned at him.

He shook his head and loaded his bag into the car's boot.

"Soooo, what are you doing this weekend?" He asked as he settled down on the passenger side.

"Nothing yet. " I replied as I drove out of the driveway.

"Cool! I'm taking you somewhere." He spoke.

"Where?"

"It's a surprise." He gave me his seductive grin. I laughed along.

On Saturday morning as planned, Mark picked me from my flat. It was very hot and sunny. One of the advent of winter. We drove to an isolated park, with no other person in sight. At that moment, it felt like we were the only people for miles.

I could see the rushing if waters beyond the horizon. The trees swayed in the direction of the breeze. Mark held my hand, and we walked towards an open field of roses.

While crossing the field, we came upon the most beautiful sight I had ever seen.

A garden filled with white roses!

Roses were my favorite flowers, and Mark knew that. I smiled, because the scene was very alluring.

"What's happening Mark?" I asked, puzzled.

"Come on." He took my hand, as we walked into the garden.

"Do you like it? " He asked.

"Who wouldn't? Roses are beautiful."

"Oh look over there!!" He suddenly blurted out.

I turned around quickly, but didn't see anything."I don't see anything."

"Face me and you'll see something."

Confused, I turned facing mark. He was one knee , holding the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen.

I was shocked to the bones. My wolf kept howling in disapproval. Mark was just a distraction, and a bed warmer for her. She wanted only her mate.

Ignoring my wolf, I covered my mouth in surprise. He took my shaky hand, and looked deep into my hazel eyes that were filled with confusion rather than joyful tears.

"Blair, from the first day I met you, I could swear you were the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I made sure I got to know you and accept you for who you are. I am glad I did. You make me complete in so many ways I could ever imagine. I love you so much and without you I would be incomplete. I am here on one knee, asking for your hand in marriage. Would you do me the honour my dear, of becoming my wife?"

'Damn it!'

I love mark with every thing in me, but I have a lot of things to tell him. He has no idea who, or what I am.

"Mark isn't this very sudden?" I asked, looking for the right words.

His countenance changed, and I couldn't go on.

"Yo..you don't love me?" He stammered.

"I do.. I love you so much Mark, but you don't know so many things about me." I knelt down alongside him.

"Don't you think we should wait for some time?" I started panicking.

"I don't care what you are Blair. I want you just the way you are. We can get to know each other after the wedding." He pleaded .

Mark stood up, and the way he looked at me, I felt my heart melt. He looked miserable. His words touched my heart in more ways than I could imagine.

I wasn't interested in a mate anyway, and mark was simply perfect.

"I'll marry you mark ." I whispered.

Mark smiled with joy. He slipped the sparkling ring onto my finger. He then cupped my face and kissed me so passionately, that I forgot my worries at that Instant .

I wrapped my arms around his masculine body. We made love there and then in the open sky.

"What do you mean you're engaged!!" Olivia shouted loud enough for me to mute my laptop.

"Does he know what you are?" She asked.

"I wanted to tell him but....."I bit my lip nervously; I was so screwed.

"Blair your mate is out there. You're fucking out of your mind." Olivia yelled .

"Here we go again" I mumbled.

"I am 24 years old Olivia. If I had a mate, I'd have found him by now. I love mark with every fibre of my being. He's the one I want to be with. I don't want to be forced into loving someone because tradition demands it. Besides I hate those possessive alphas. I don't think I can live like that!"

"You think I was forced into loving your brother? It was destined and I do love him with all my heart ." Olivia grumbled.

"I know you do. I'm not talking about you. I am old enough to know what I want, and I know I'll be happy with Mark." I insisted stubbornly.

"What if you come across your mate one-day?" Olivia was still persistent.

"I'll reject him"

"It's not that simple Blair, your wolf will force you to accept him. And the sex..... well you have no idea how sex with your mate feels like ." She grinned.

I smirked. "How do you know that? You've only slept with Antonio."

I was not too experienced myself, apart from mark. I had only one boyfriend in high school. I found out he was cheating on me, just the next day after we did it for the first time . He would never cheat on me again, I made sure of that. Being a werewolf had it's own advantages.

"I know how the mate bond works but you don't." Olivia snapped back at me.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine you win , but can we just end this conversation now?" I pleaded .

I knew better than arguing with a mated wolf. They were overly protective of their mates. I prayed silently that I never find my mate .
