I was too shocked to think beyond what Maximus just spoke of – I was already rushing into the busy market.

“Nathan!” I could hear him shout as he chased after me – however, there were way too many people crowding around him.

Fuck, why are you not working now? This unpredictable power just doesn’t work when I need it to, does it?

I took one last look – Maximus was already being drowned away by the crowd.

“Finally…”

My hand was already on my chest, panting as I was finally away from him. I looked to my right as the darkness hovered over me – the familiar feeling of malicious intent was too strong to ignore.

There stood several men, all donning a familiar smirk on their faces. The loan sharks that sold me off… they’re here.

Hiding under the darkness of the slums, they were still doing the same old work – forcing unfortunate slaves to borrow a mere speck of gold. And in return, knowing slaves wouldn’t stand the chance to pay it back, they se
