Alsie POV-“We can talk about it later, Benji. Let’s finish the business at hand.”I put my hand on Benji’s chest and moved him slightly. I wanted to get a good look at the guy behind him. Kevin. Kevin stood about 6’2” tall, he had long blonde hair that was shaved on the sides around the ears, and the rest was pulled up into a man bun on top of his head. Kevin had big, round, grey colored eyes, long dark brown eye lashes, full lips, and eyebrows that looked like they had been recently waxed. Kevin was clean-shaven and smelled of fresh cut grass.“Hello, you must be Kevin.” I said as I extended my hand to him.“Yes, Luna. I am Kevin McClaren. Is everything ok? Should I be nervous?”“No. Why would you be nervous?”“I’ve seen you kill a lot of wolves over the last few days. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve all deserved death for their betrayals. It appears that every time you call for a wolf to talk to you, they are carried out.” Kevin replied while maintaining his gaze on his shoes.“Have yo
Alsie POV-The guys and I walked into the house to the living room. We all found places to sit. Natalie brought in a tray of drinks and behind her Julia brought in a tray of snacks.“Thank you, ladies.”“You’re welcome, Luna.” Natalie replied as she bowed her head, slightly.Osiris got up and started pacing, “What do we tackle first?” he asked looking over at all of us.“Good question.” I responded. “I think we should start with hierarchy. Let’s get that in place, it will help ease tension throughout the pack.”Evander and Andrew nodded in agreement.“I agree.” Benji and Osiris replied.“Benji, you were the prior Gamma, then promoted to Beta, who do you think we should promote to the Beta position? We need someone who is strong leader, excellent fighter, and someone the warriors’ respect. This person will be in close proximity to us on a daily basis, in our meetings, and involved in the day-to-day running of the pack.”“Gorgeous, I think we need more than one Beta. There are six of us
Alsie POV-“No, seriously, Als. What the hell is a half-mate? And who is a half-mate? Are half-mates connected to us? I’ve got so many questions.”“Beta William is our half-mate. I don’t know if there even is such a thing, but that’s what Andrew called him and the term kinda stuck.”“Si, that leads to more questions, less answers.”“I know, Benji.” Osiris laughed as he followed me to the house.“When William was being questioned about his loyalty and the things he did in the past, in order to get all the information, I had to bite him. I didn’t know I could just bite his wrist, so I bit his marking spot. That connected me to him, but not him to me, since he didn’t return the bite. Weren’t you there for some of this?”“Alsie, I was the Gamma then. I was present for a few things, but not everything. When the shit was going down with the Beta and Alpha Kordell I was in and out of the house handling other things. I was in charge of securing Wepwawet a safe passage.”“Oh, that’s right, you
Alsie POV-I am on maximum mental overload. Another day, another mystery. Today the twist is the mystery information is coming from the biggest wolf I’ve ever seen, one I’m supposed to be worried about starting a war.“Andrew, what do you know about werecats? Tell us everything.”"Sure thing, Little Luna. Werecats are like us, except cats. They have a human form, a cat form, they have a hierarchy, but leadership is loose. They live in colonies or prides, depending on where they reside. Their hierarchy is centered on cooperative matriarchal family groups, where related females lead daily activities, hunt, and raise cubs, while a male coalition primarily protects the territory. While dominant males have a presence and priority when feeding, they do not hold overall leadership; males are transient, and their influence is tied to their physical strength and ability to maintain their position within the coalition, not to leading the colony or pride's social structure.”“Interesting, like u
Alsie POV-I was standing face to face with one of the biggest wolves I’ve ever seen. He was the size of a small elephant, grey and black with bright green eyes. I knew, I knew him from somewhere, but I don’t recall ever seeing him before.[It’s Fenrir.][Thank you, Rana.][Dante, Kane, Fenrir is in the kitchen.]“I’m not looking for trouble Rana. I want to clear some things up. I need to talk to the human you, not the wolf you.” Fenrir said, standing in my kitchen. Before I could respond all of my mates, Dante, and Sarah appeared in the kitchen behind me.“You better start talking fast Fenrir, or it’s going to get ugly in this kitchen.” Dante threatened as he stepped in front of me.“Dante, please. I need to talk to the human part of Rana. I’m not here to do any harm.”“Why?” Kane hissed.“The human, Alsie is the one who has questions. She is the one who needs something solved. Not Rana. Like I said, I am not here to do harm.”Rana retreated, slightly.“I’m here. Rana is close, but s
Alsie POV-I found a large corkboard and I brought it back to my office. I hung it between the two whiteboards. I pulled index cards out of my desk drawer, and I started writing thigs pertaining to my open case on the index cards. Once I finished my piles, I tacked them onto the corkboard under the proper categories. This helped me see my cases better. It cut out the time of looking through notes and trying to remember all the players in the scenario. It was a few hours later when Osiris walked into my office.“Hey Gorgeous, are you joining us for lunch?”“It’s lunchtime already?”“Yes, you’ve been in here for hours. Everything ok?”“Oh, I didn’t realize that it had been that long. Yes, I’m ok Si, just working.”“Ok, well we are in the little dining room, the kitchen staff prepared lunch. Grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches with creamy tomato basil soup, green goddess wedge salads, and bacon wrapped lil smokies.”“That sounds yummy.” I said as I tacked up my last index card. “Here I c
