My family was going to try to talk me into not getting married. They would probably offer me several lucrative benefits to convince me to drop it. Either that, or they would bring a line up of women for me to choose from—women who would do their bidding and be their little spies if I took interest in any of them. So, I couldn’t wait to see the faces they would make when I walked into the mansion with Angelica in tow.

They would probably look like I did when she stepped out of the bedroom. I was stunned into silence. I completely forgot I was on a conference call as I waited for her to get changed.

As expected of her, she had arrived at my penthouse wearing jeans and the most plain t-shirt I had ever seen—white, and with a band name printed on it.
