Arabella

Three days. That was all the time I had before Lucas returned.

I sat quietly in the kitchen.

Anna had already agreed to let me bake tomorrow evening. I’d asked innocently enough, and she’d smiled, pleased at how well I was “adjusting.” That part was settled.

Tomorrow would be the day I'd leave.

All I needed now were the pills.

My gaze flicked to the far corner, where the first aid box sat behind the counter—locked, but not unreachable.

It was just I and Sophie here right now. Now would be the best time.

“Let me help,” I said lightly, approaching Sophie with practiced calm as she sorted the vegetables for dinner.

She smiled and moved aside, letting me join in.

Sneaking into Anna’s room and getting her phone to contact Mona again was a lost cause. I didn't want to risk it.

I'd have to get out first, then call Mona later. That was the order. That was the only way.

I picked up a knife, its metal gleaming under the warm kitchen lights. My heart drummed a wild rhythm in my c

  • Devil's Bidding   Chapter 35:

Arabella It slowly became my secret routine. The hidden room. The pole.Every night, when the house sank into its usual eerie silence, I’d slip away, barefoot and quiet, like a whisper moving through the halls. That room—my private sanctuary—welcomed me with open arms.It smelled of velvet and metal and freedom.I grew bolder each night, my body remembering things my mind had long suppressed. The movements came easier. Smoother. Controlled. I wasn’t a professional, but the way I moved made me feel like I owned something, my body, my will, something. The pole became more than just cold steel. It became a place where I could forget who I was now.And thanks to the room being soundproof, no one ever knew.It was the one place where Lucas’s reach didn’t seem to follow.Or so I thought.---“What’s this?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at the outfit being laid out on the velvet chaise. The woman—Lucas’s servant or whatever title she wore, barely flinched. She smoothed her hand over the sheer

Arabella I was being dolled up again. Now an everyday routine I was slowly adjusting to. Another morning of hands brushing over my skin, smoothing fabric over my frame and styling me, expert hands on my hair gently brushing out tangles as though I were some fragile porcelain thing. It was clear now, Lucas had shifted his game. Changed tactics. Entirely.Since that night be brought me out.Gone was the cold isolation, that place that still haunted my dreams and messed with my head. Now, I was being treated like a guest…No.A pet.An indulged, well-groomed pet. Waited on. Watched. Handled delicately, but never freely. And yet, it was better than the dark. That roomI sat before the mirror that morning as their hands fussed over me. Dresses I didn’t choose. Jewelry I never asked for.It was suffocating in its own way.Soft chains. Beautiful chains. My reflection stared back—calmer, maybe. Softer around the eyes. And my hair—too long now. It used to brush my shoulders. Practical. Ea

  • Devil's Bidding   Chapter 33: A gift for his pet

She didn’t do much for the days he'd been gone. She ate.Exercised lightly.Took quiet walks along the edge of the estate garden.A simple, steady routine. The reports came in and Lucas read them all.She had adjusted.Or so it seemed.Lucas nodded slowly as his fingers skimmed over the report.Four days.It had only been four days since he left. And still… his thoughts kept drifting back to the girl sleeping in his bed.His little pet.He leaned back in the limousine seat, legs spread, fingers tapping absently against the armrest as the vehicle cut through the darkened countryside. She hadn’t found it yet. He'd known she wouldn't, not immediately. He’d hidden the gift on purpose. Not where the maids might spot it.No, she would stumble across it eventually, alone.Touch it.Wonder.He wanted her curiosity piqued.Knowing she would not use it if it was within the glare of people he had hidden it where he knew she would eventually find it. Wanted her fingers trembling with wonder wh

  • Devil's Bidding   Chapter 32: Strange

Lucas stood by the edge of the bed, one hand buried deep in his pocket, the other curled loosely at his side. His thoughts were roaming, but his gaze was locked on her face, soft, delicate, peaceful in sleep. His Arabella.Even like this, with the faint traces of bruises on her skin and a haunted stillness in her expression, she was beautiful. So infuriatingly beautiful that every inch of his body responded. His jaw tensed, his cock stirred, and something darker curled inside his chest. It wasn't time yet.He wouldn’t take her now. He might’ve been a monster in more ways than one, but not in that sense. There was no thrill in forcing himself on a woman too broken to scream. No pleasure in conquering what no longer resisted. No, he wanted her awake. Alert. Aware of exactly what she was surrendering. He would make her want him. Beg for him. Need him. And when she finally gave in, it would not just be her body he’d take, but the last fragile shreds of dignity she clung to.A breath esc

Arabella's fingers were curled into the fabric of his shirt, gripping it with the desperation of someone who had nothing else left. Just the weight of her body leaning into his as he carried her through the vast, hollow corridors of the mansion. She was almost weightless in his arms. “Lucas?” Her voice broke, soft as breath as she stared up at him questioningly. Her lips were cracked, her eyes wide and glassy like a lost child. “You need a bath,” he said simply, voice smooth but cold. As if he were stating a fact, not tending to the woman he had carefully dismantled. She didn’t respond. She didn’t pull away.He took her to a bathroom. Opulent. Warm. Cruelly beautiful like everything else in his prison. Beautiful but cold. Without a word, he began undressing her, peeling the fabric from her limp body. Her skin was cold, marred in places with faint bruises and abrasions. She said nothing as he stripped her bare.He half expected her to flinch. But she didn’t.“Get in,” he murmured.

  • Devil's Bidding   Chapter 30: Insanity

Hours later, Arabella was still on the floor. Her knees pulled tightly to her chest, arms wrapped around herself like a shield. She rocked gently, back and forth, back and forth, eyes vacant. Her nails had left shallow marks in her arms where she’d clung too hard, like she could hold herself together through sheer force. This wasn’t her bedroom. It looked like it, down to the smallest detail. But it wasn’t.It was a lie.A perfect, twisted copy. But none of it was real. None of it belonged to her anymore. At first, she’d fought. She’d screamed until her voice cracked and her throat felt like it had been scraped raw.“Lucas! You bastard! Let me out!”Her fists had pounded the door until her knuckles split. She’d cursed him. Sobbed. Begged.Nothing.No footsteps.Just the sound of her own voice and silence. Eventually, her strength gave out. Her voice disappeared. Her rage collapsed into exhaustion. Now, she sat in the same corner she had started in, still rocking. Still waiting.A sof
