10. Dark Blood

Catalina’s POV

As we were leaving the grand villa, I heard a few gunshots, and Thaddeus held my hand tightly and put his hand on my eyes. He covered my eyes and ears so I wouldn't hear those vampires' screams or the humans' screams coming from the surrounding area.

"Salvatore, have the plane ready to go tonight. They shouldn't be able to find me and figure out who I am."

Salvatore nodded his head and pushed the pedal to speed up the car. I moaned anxiously and drew away from Thaddeus.

"Are they humans?"

"Yes, they are but they know a lot about us. They are trained to kill vampires."

Salvatore drove us inside the forest, where we found an empty lot and a huge private plane that had been waiting for us there.

"There's no reason for us to leave the country—" he cut me off, and I stared doubtfully at him.

Thaddeus put his hand on my wrist and said, "We have to. Even though my adversary tries to track me down, they are still unaware of who I am. It is in our best interest to hide
