103. Thirst

Catalina’s POV

"If I really wanted to murder you...I would have done it already right now. But not yet, not too soon. Just wait for it." I responded while rolling my eyes and taking Leila with me as we exited the room that was filled with their terror due to the presence of the two older women within.

I sat down in the secluded area, took a few deep breaths, and asked myself, "Why is it that I no longer feel any guilt? and I'm—" I can detect the odor of blood; someone has cut themselves out there, perhaps because they are running for miles. I could picture him wetting a dry cloth and applying it to the minor cut on his knees to staunch blood flow. I have my eyes closed and am concentrating on the smell. I need some of that blood. Damn it.

When Leila called my name and yelled at me, I didn't even bother to look at her; I just continued running. "Catalina! Where do you intend to go?! Catalina!"
