102. Satisfying Fear

Catalina’s POV

Because I know Leila is lying to me, she does not want to look into my eyes when we are conversing. She knows something about Emily that she will not disclose to me at this time.

I gave her a friendly smile and reassuring words, "There is no longer any need for you to be concerned about Emily. You've matured, and now, if she is sent to prison to pay for everything she's done to our family, everything that our father has left to you will be yours. You will one day receive what you have worked so hard for, which is a life that is rich with fulfillment."

She cast a quick peek across to Salvatore, who was still having a conversation with Thaddeus. After that, she turned her attention back to me. "Do you want to see Emily and Jessica?"

My curious eyes lit up, and I asked, "Where are they? Are you able to show me the way?"

She held my hand and said. "Yes, Of course. Come with me."

Leila and I walked inside, to the hallway, and I tried to act as human even though I wanted t
