RYAN

“You're not okay!!” She shot at me

I could tell from the look in her eyes that she had in a way figured I must have gotten into a fight with someone.

“Sarah, I'm fine,” I responded.

“It's not as bad as it looks,” I said.

Sarah leaned forward, enough to get a closer look at my hand, most of the skin from my knuckles to my wrist remained as red as when I slammed it into the wall of my bathroom. She tenderly pressed on the lump and I yanked my hand away.

“Did that hurt?” She asked.

“Of course it did!” I yelled, holding onto my bruised hand.

She raised her head to face me and my heart squeezed at her big, glassy eyes and wobbly bottom lips.

“You're hiding something Ryan,” She said through gritted teeth, staring at me. I was panicking internally because I knew this was about to make things worse.
