Chapter 001

"Hey, couz! Hurry up or dad will leave us here!" I heard my cousin shouting from downstairs. I fixed all my things and hurried myself down. 

 

I woke up very late because I was busy watching the series I've been looking for, too bad that it's another semester for me. I took the sandwich that Aunt Linda prepared for us and didn't bother to wear some makeup for today. I tied my hair in a bun since I didn't take a bath, I sprayed perfume all over my body and minutes later, I was already inside Uncle Bob's car, heading towards the university where I'm currently studying.

 

I'm already in my third year of architecture. I'm living with my relatives here in the city since my parents couldn't afford living here, so I decided to come and visit them often every summer break.

 

"Kamesh, are you finished with the plate that professor Steel gave us last semester?" Kashna asked while putting on lipstick and curling her lashes. 

 

Actually I totally forgot about it, but I think Professor Steel would give me a chance, like she's the most sweetest professor I've ever had in my whole life, though I've heard that she was near to her ninth month of her pregnancy so hope she's still with us, even just for a week.

 

"So you forgot about it don't you?" I heard her say that. "Too bad, my friends chatted me that there will be a substitute teacher for Mrs. Steel, meaning–"

 

"Holy shit!?" I cursed loudly when I heard what she said, "What did you just say!?" I asked her in panic, oh gosh! I hope Professor Steel didn't tell the new Prof to collect the plate, cause I'm telling you. I would rather pass an unfinished plate than nothing.

 

I was clutching and fidgeting my fingers, very nervous about the thought of the new professor. We stopped at the parking area of the campus and suddenly my mood changed when I saw my friends, waiting by the bench. 

 

"Hey!" I called up to them. They've been my friends ever since highschool and now we're still together. Bully's are not actually necessary in college but hey, where's the fun in that? "How's the vacay?" I sat on the bench where they were and took Aleyna's food from her. She didn't do anything about it so I continued.

 

"Oh my gosh, you wouldn't believe what I just saw!" Exactly when we're all out of topic, Marie, one of my friends came unto us, running and sweating with bullets. "Fuck! I think I just saw a freaking Greek god!" She exclaimed. All of us looked at her flatly, probably not getting what she meant. "Guys, you wouldn't believe how hot the new professor is, like.... oh my gosh, I'd be glad to be kissed by him!"

 

"Will you shut up?" I rolled my eyes at her and quickly took my backpack so I could go to the nearest cafe. "I'll get going." I winked at them and ran outside the campus. I haven't had my breakfast and now I'm pretty hungry.

 

I'm in front of the chief cafe, there's not a lot of people in here so I casually pushed the door open and went to the counter. A lady, looking younger than me, welcomed me with a bright smile. 

 

"Can I take your order, ma'am?" She smiles sweetly. I looked up to see what I could get and I suddenly salivated when my eyes stopped at the macchiato.

 

"I'd like to take that one–"

 

"One order of macchiato, please." My words were stopped when I heard a muscular voice from behind me. With a raised brow, I glared at the man behind me and I was dumbfounded, looking at this god-like man. 

 

I felt my throat drying and my heart beating erratically. I don't know if I'm nervous with something or I'm just imagining things. I was lost in reverie when I heard a fake cough. I looked at the man in front of me and realized that I stared at him too much. He was also looking at me and I can say that I looked like an idiot in his eyes.

 

I hissed at his cold brown eyes and laid my elbow on the counter, before resting my face over my hand. He was looking at me the whole, trying to get what I was doing. I smirked at his handsome face, from his dark brown eyes, long and thick lashes and brows, to his pointed nose, sharp jaw, until my eyes dropped down to his gorgeous and downright perfect, luscious lips.

 

I swallowed the lump in my throat and seconds later, I saw how the side of his lips raised, making into a smirk. "Like what you're seeing?" His voice also sounds perfect.

 

"Here's your order, sir." We both looked at the girl behind the counter, she was holding one cup of macchiato in her hand, she was about to hand it to the man and my forehead immediately furrowed.

 

"Hey, I was the one who ordered that!" My voice thundered. "I was the first one who came here!" I pointed my finger at the man but his eyes remained emotionless. "Give that to me, that's mine!" I ordered him but he didn't even move a muscle. "I said give it to–"

 

"Why would I?" he asked in his cold voice and for a moment I was immovable, his cold voice sent shivers down my spine and all I could do was to bite my lower lip.

 

"I... I haven't had my breakfast yet." I don't know what came up to me so I can say those words. His bored eyes said that he didn't care at all but what he did next surprised me.

 

"Another macchiato, please." he told the girl behind the counter before sipping into his cup and paid for both of our orders, before silently leaving the place.

 

I was still astonished by what he did, my eyes held confusion and amusement at the same time, my mouth was gape open and I was still at the same position where he left me.

 

"Here's your order, ma'am." the girl stated so I took it without giving her a glance. I went out of the cafe and the commotion drowned me when I saw no students outside, I took a glimpse at my watch and I almost dropped my coffee when I saw what time it was.

 

"No. Shit!" I murmured a curse and ran toward the campus, the security guard saw me but I was fast to get in. I ran so fast until I was already outside of my first class. Nervousness chilled up to me before I slowly pushed the door open.

 

Silence filled the whole room, everyone's eyes were on me, but my eyes settled on the man in front of the whole class. I fainted at the sight of him, but I almost collapsed when his cold dark brown eyes locked into mine before I heard his cold and untamed voice, making me quiver.

 

"Why are you late?"

 

Yes. The man at the cafe earlier was inside my class, but not as my block mate, but as my... professor.
