"Don't be stupid." Delma scolded. "I thought you were smart, what kind of fool are you trying to be?"

"A fool that wants a better life for herself and her son." Barbia responded.

"And I've given you a better life."

"I want more."

"That greed will send you to your early grave, that greed will render your son miserable for the rest of his life, because I won't pause my life and try to fit into motherhood for his sake."

Barbia burned. "Nothing will happen to my son."

"Stay away from Chief Onapuruagu and his family." Delma warned. "I know these people."

"I should stay away from him so you can have him all to yourself, wait, you think I don't know you have eyes for him as well?"

"Barbia.."

Barbia cut off Delma. "Please, I am not scared of the outcome, no danger will meet us."

"I won't be here and wait for it to come meet me." Delma turned, heading to the door.

"In other words?" Barbia leaned forward, turning her face to the back to stare at Delma.
