Chapter 7

Amidst the laughter and clinking of glasses, I felt a pang of envy as my friends shared stories of their loving and attentive spouses. They spoke of their partners' affectionate gestures and thoughtful surprises, while I felt the absence of such gestures in my own life. It made me question my choices and wonder if marrying a younger man would have made a difference. Perhaps then I would have experienced the love and attention I yearned for.

Trying to push away those thoughts, I mustered a smile and joined in their conversation. "I'm sorry, guys. I'm just lost in my own thoughts tonight. But I'm genuinely happy for all of you and your wonderful partners."

Linda, ever the playful one, raised an eyebrow and teased, “you are lost in your own thoughts or that’s an excuse not to talk with us because we all married younger men? Which you’re ambitiously against.”

I chuckled, shaking my head. "No, not at all. It's not about that. I'm just going through a rough patch, you know? But tonight is about celebrating Daniella, so let's focus on that."

Daniella, the bride-to-be, beamed with excitement. "That's right, Felisha! Tonight is my fun night, and I want all of us to have a blast. No room for worries!"

Sophia chimed in, her voice filled with mischief. "Exactly! We're here to dance, drink, and make memories. Let's forget about our troubles for a while."

The bar seemed to come alive with vibrant energy as the music grew louder and the crowd became more animated.

Conversations merged with laughter, and the atmosphere pulsed with excitement.

As the night wore on, we lost ourselves in the joyous chaos of the bar. We danced, sang along to the music, and laughed until our stomachs hurt. The worries that had weighed me down for the pass few days since I’d taken a three days break from the sport director to join my friends in preparation of Daniel wedding, began to fade into the background as I immersed myself in the contagious happiness of my friends.

But deep down, even amidst the laughter, I couldn't escape the reality of my crumbling marriage. Sometimes I want to imagine how life would be if I was even married to a younger man. Would he have been more respectful? Caring? I don’t even know. I sighed inwardly. It’s been the normal routine between  me and Anthony. He was rarely at home, and when he was, he seemed distant and aloof. And now, on top of it all, I had to deal with Sabastian's relentless pursuit, his constant messages and inquiries about my decision regarding his proposed sex contract. It felt like the darkest moment of my life, and I couldn't share it with anyone, not even my so-called husband.

After Danielle wedding was finally over, it was time to resume work. as I moved around my room getting  ready for work, my phone kept ringing incessantly. And I’d been ignoring it. My inner mind concluded it was Sabastian and I sure as hell isn’t ready to talk him. Finally, I picked the phone once I was to done getting dressed and to my utmost surprise, I met missed calls from mom. I immediately called her back.

“Hello mo...”

“And what stopped you from picking up all these while?” She scolded and I rolled my eyes.

“I was busy, mom”

“Whatever I just wanted to hear from you it’s been a while. You don’t even call.”

“I’m sorry you know I’m working now and I’m fine.”

“And Anthony?”

I rolled my eyes and sighed.

I don’t know honestly.

But I possibly can’t say that to my mother cause it’ll lead to questions upon questions that will still lead to her taking sides with my husband. “He’s fine.” I said briefly.

We say our goodbyes and then ended the call.

Arriving  at Baylor college, I packed my car at a safe spot and headed straight to the football field only to find that the players were nowhere to be seen. Confused, I wondered if I had come too early. I decided to wait and occasionally kept bringing my watch to my view but about one hour pass and no footballer showed up. Frustrated, by the wasted of time, I decided to seek answers from the sports director.

I headed straight for his office and I got there in no time.

After exchanging pleasantries, I laid my complaint about the footballers absence and his nonchalant response was that, maybe the boys are caught up with school work or have classes.

I mean that isn’t bad but all of them at the same time?

It just doesn’t add up but mr David seems to be very uptight with the file he was scrutinizing and was obviously uninterested in my complains so I just  decided to take my leave.

As I made my way back to the field, frustration etched across my face, I crossed paths with mR Mathew and of course miss Sandra, who’d made herself a second skin to him. She was clutching her arm around Mathew.

Mathew, noticing my discontent, approached with a concerned expression. "Coach Felisha, is everything alright? You seem a bit on edge."

I sighed, trying to maintain composure. "Not really. The players didn't show up and it’s weird.”

Sandra chimed in, her tone laced with sarcasm. "Well, maybe they have better things to do than practice with a coach who can't even dress appropriately."

With a confused and enraged frown, I took proper look on myself trying to figure out what exactly Is wrong with a shot sport nicker and a jersey top. Yeah I know it exposes my thighs but this is my fucking work attire.

Mathew interjected, trying to diffuse the tension. "Come on, Sandra, It  wasn’t nice. Felisha would you like to join us? We're just about  to go grab some food."

“And what’s that occasion if I may ask? Why should she come with us?” Sandra grimace obviously not buying mr Mathew’s invitation.

If only she knows I also don’t even buy that.

“Thank you for the invitation, Mathew. However, I have some work to attend to. You both enjoy your time together."

I didn’t wait for mathew’s response  before continuing my journey.

I returned to the field with the intention to get my bag and leave but I was met with what have become my greatest fear for the past few days. Sabastian was lingering around the field, only him and his back was facing me. My instinct was to escape silently immediately but how long would I do that?

I’m the football couch and he’s a player so we are bound to meet again.

Beside Sabastian turns almost immediately and our eyes met. A glitch of relief appeared on his eyes and he began  approaching. His stride was confident and yes he was on a suit  which accentuated his muscular physique.

There was no denying his charm and magnetism, but beneath that exterior was a darkness that sent shivers down my spine.

I instinctively took a step back as Sabastian neared me.

“Finally you are here, miss coach!” He bubbled with a smirk.

“And why are you on a corporate suit instead of your sport wears?” I asked what every noble couch would even though it doesn’t really concerns me.

“Funny how you care so much about my outfit. Well, I’m a business admin student and today I decided  to make an impression.” He was making Jest of him with his smirk right now and i know.

“You do know that has nothing to do with your training sections. You should get rid of that before coming here,”

“I’m surprised how your IQ doesn’t tell you that the training section for today is cancelled.”

“And who cancelled it?” I frowned.

“We are adverting the main topic right now and you know it. Anyways, How was the wedding?"

Surprised by his knowledge of my whereabouts, I couldn't help but ask, How the hell did you know about the wedding?"

Cause I sure as hell knows I only informed the sport director about my off days and the reason for it. Now how the hell does Sabastian he even knows.

A smirk danced across his lips as he responded, his tone dripping with intrigue. "I have my ways, Coach. I simply asked the sport director. I wanted to run if you’ve decided to quit your job especially since you weren’t even taking my calls. And since you are to resume today, i took the liberty of instructing  the other footballers not to show up today as their captain. Because we both have a discussion, our unfinished deal, that Is.”

His lustful gaze locked onto me, making me feel exposed and vulnerable. I felt my heart racing, a mixture of anger and nervousness brewing within me. Summoning whatever courage I had left, I mustered a firm tone. "You have no right to dictate the players' attendance." Really I didn’t even care about that. God knows it’s just to advert the main issue.

Sabastian's lips curved into a wicked smile as he took a step closer, closing the distance between us. "Well, Coach Felisha, considering you breached our agreement, I thought it's only fair that we find some entertainment. Maybe I'll just share our little sex video. After all, everyone loves watching porn."

Fear and panic surged through me at his words, and I mustered the strength to ask, "What do you hope to gain from this sex contract? Why are you doing this?"

A wicked smile played on his lips as he replied, "Fun. Pleasure. And the satisfaction of seeing you surrender to me. So, what's your decision, Coach Felisha?"

His words hung in the air, a menacing threat that left me feeling trapped and powerless. In that moment, I realized the gravity of the situation and the extent to which Sabastian held control over me. I knew I had to make a choice, one that would shape the course of my life and potentially destroy everything I had worked so hard to build.

“Fine... we have a deal!” I closed my eyes as I finished up.

“Of course we have,” i opened my eyes to see his smirk turns into a grin. He brought out a paper from his pocket and hand it over to me. The paper contains an address.

“We will always meet there each time I wants you. so be prepared sweetie.” I cringed at that pet name and stood rooted to a spot as he brushed past me.
