ログインALEXIS'S POV
The first thing I heard was the steady beeping of machines. Rhythmic and annoying machines.
My eyelids felt like they had been glued shut. I forced them open, blinking my eyes slowly to adjust to the harsh white lights above me.
A hospital room.
I turned my head slowly, still feeling fuzzy and disoriented. A tall, handsome stranger leaned against the wall near the window, his arms were folded across his broad chest.
He looked powerful in an expensive black shirt, he stood there watching me with calm but intense eyes. The same man I vaguely remembered from the roadside before everything went dark.
Then seated right beside my bed, holding my hand tightly, was my mother. The moment her eyes met mine, she broke into a stream of tears.
“Alexis… my baby!” she cried, kissing the back of my hand repeatedly. “Thank the goddess you’re awake. I was so scared.”
I tried to speak but my throat felt dry, everything still felt like a dream to me. I looked around again, trying to piece together what happened. The fall. The blood. Dyson leaving…
Mum noticed my confusion. She turned to the stranger and said softly, “This is Mr. Xavier. He’s the one who saved you.”
Xavier stepped forward, his presence was commanding yet gentle and he had a deep, soothing voice. “I’m glad you’re awake. You gave us quite a scare.”
I swallowed hard. “How… How did I get here?”
Xavier glanced at my mother before explaining. “I was driving down the road when I saw you. At first I didn’t understand what was happening, but when I got closer I saw you lying there in a pool of blood. I rushed out and carried you into the car immediately. You were barely conscious.”
He paused, adjusting his stance slightly. “Your phone had slipped out of your dress pocket while I was carrying you. I checked it for emergency contacts once we reached the hospital. The first number was listed as your husband. I tried calling him multiple times but it kept going to voicemail. So I called the second number—your mother and she came immediately.”
After he finished explaining, Xavier paused for a moment and locked eyes with me.
“I might not know the full details of what went down,” he started, “but for what it’s worth… any man who treats you like this doesn’t love you.”
He stepped back without another word and stayed silent, leaning against the wall once more.
My mother squeezed my hand tighter, while still crying. “Thank you so much, Mr. Xavier. We can never repay you for saving my daughter.”
I managed a weak whisper. “Thank you… for helping me.”
Mum turned back to me. “Alexis, why didn’t you come back home? When things got too much… Why didn’t you just return to us? Even after you ran away to marry him, you’re still our child. We would never have turned you away. Never.”
Her words hit me and I felt tears form in my eyes.
“I was embarrassed, Mum,” I said hoarsely. “I was scared you and Dad would reject me… after I left everything behind for him. I stayed because I loved him. Because of our child. I thought… I thought he would change.”
As I mentioned the child, I instinctively moved my free hand to my stomach, but my eyes widened in shock as my bump was noticeably smaller. There was an empty, hollow feeling where my baby used to be and I immediately started panicking.
“Where… where is my baby?” I asked, touching my belly rapidly. “Mum, where is my baby?!”
My mother turned her face away, fighting back her tears. While Xavier lowered his head, staring at the floor.
I looked between them desperately. “Answer me! Where is my baby?!”
As if on cue, the door opened and the doctor walked in, flipping through a file of papers absentmindedly. He stopped when he saw I was awake.
Before he could speak, I asked with a shaky, terrified voice, “Doctor… where is my baby?”
The doctor exhaled heavily, closed the file, and looked at me with professional sympathy.
“I’m so sorry, Mrs. Lecrae,” he said quietly. “Due to the severe blood loss and impact from the fall… the baby did not make it.”
XAVIER"Do you want to come inside?" she whispered sultrily into my ear. I gulped, my palms turning sweaty. My heart raced and I felt my wolf stir.'Say yes,' he growled.I looked down and saw her already gazing up at me, her hands pressed against her chest. My cock throbbed painfully. It can't be. She's doing this intentionally, right? There's no way such a small gesture from me would make her invite me to spend the night.'Stop overthinking and answer her,' he snarled impatiently."Um… yes, sure." I rubbed my neck, looking elsewhere."Great!" She clapped her hands. "Come inside."I watched her walk into the building and quickly followed, making sure my car was locked. Warmth seeped through my skin the moment I stepped through the door.My eyes swept the place. Memories of what was supposed to happen the other day replayed in my mind. I wouldn't reject the offer to have her as mine, but knowing what she went through, I didn't think she was ready to give her heart to someone, especial
ALEXISI ran a hand through my wet hair as I stepped out of the bathroom. My eyes drifted to my laptop on the bed, and memories of everything that had happened today replayed in my mind."Oh God." I covered my face. Never in my entire life had I imagined the day would come when I'd reject Dyson in front of everyone.A slow smile spread across my face as I sat on the bed before falling back and staring at the ceiling. It felt really good.No... I felt good. Seeing the hope die in his eyes and the anger replace it filled me with satisfaction. He must have been shocked, thinking I'd let everything go just because we had some "good" history together."This should keep him as far away from me as possible," I muttered.Just then, my phone buzzed.I patted the bed, searching for it before grabbing it and bringing it to my face. It was a message from Xavier.Come to think of it, we hadn't really spoken much after what happened the other day.[Hey, are you awake?]I stared at the message, wond
DYSON"Ooh! Baby!" Mandy moaned into the bed, her ass rippling as I pounded into her. As my mother said, I fucked out all my frustrations on her. This was the only stress relief I had, and one of the reasons I was glad to have her as my wife. She grabbed the bedsheet to steady herself as I slammed into her, as though I wanted to break her back with the force I was using. The headboard crashed against the wall with heavy thuds. I grunted, feeling how tightly her p*ssy squeezed my c*ck."Shh," I groaned, my head falling back. I didn't want my mother or anyone else to hear her screaming like a slut, but then again, it was my house. I was the one who owned it. I owned everything here, including the woman I was fucking."Mmm!" she moaned obediently, her screams lowering into strangled moans. I lifted my hand and struck her ass, my fingers sinking into her soft flesh. She yelped, and her juices squirted onto my thigh.I held her waist, biting my lip.Yes... this was what power felt like.Th
DYSON“Do you think she's really going to reject our proposal?” my assistant whispered beside me. “This is the last option we have. After this, the company will collapse, and the debts we have won't be paid in any—”I slapped my thigh irritably. “I know. I know everything that will happen.” I glared at him before turning to the executives who had been whispering among themselves as though I wouldn't hear them.I sighed, biting my nails. Please don't do this to me, Alexis.I clenched my hands, my eyes fixed on the door, hoping she would walk in with a smile and tell me she'd changed her mind and that we had a deal.Right at that moment, the door swung open, and my eyes snapped to it. She walked in, and behind her was that annoying man, Xavier. I still wondered how the fuck they knew each other, but that didn't matter right now.My company mattered, and if this deal ended in rejection because of what we had, I wouldn't let her get away with it. I wasn't fucking at fault for anything tha
XAVIER'S POVThe conference room fell into complete silence. I stared at the man standing near the entrance, unable to believe what I was seeing.Dyson.For a second, I thought I had mistaken him for someone else. Then I noticed the way Alexis had gone perfectly still beside me.The color drained from her face. Her fingers tightened around the leather folder resting on the table until her knuckles turned white. She knew him.No.She knew him far too well. It couldn't be that he was who I thought he was.Dyson looked at Alexis as though the rest of us had disappeared. His mouth parted slightly, but no words came out.The silence stretched painfully.I shifted my gaze between the two of them before clearing my throat."Mr. Lacrae," I said, forcing the meeting back on track. "Please, have a seat."He didn't move. His eyes remained locked on Alexis."Alexis..."She inhaled slowly before lifting her chin. Every trace of surprise disappeared behind the calm, professional expression she had
DYSON'S POVA month had passed since my wife left me.I used to think losing Alexis would only mean coming home to an empty house. I thought the silence would be the hardest part. I was wrong. The silence was nothing compared to everything else falling apart around me.I stared at the mountain of documents sitting on my desk, my fingers pressing against my temple as I tried to understand how everything had become this complicated. Before Alexis left, these papers would have already been organized. She would have gone through every detail, pointed out every mistake, and reminded me of the things I had overlooked. She had always been better at this than me.I hated admitting that.My jaw tightened as I picked up another file.A merger I had been confident about was delayed. A partnership that had been almost finalized suddenly fell apart. Investors who once trusted my decisions were now questioning them.Everywhere I looked, there was a problem waiting for me. And for the first time in
ALEXIS “Thank you, Adam.” I shook the hand of my divorce lawyer, a middle-aged Italian man.He smiled. “Don't be. I'm just here to make sure everything goes smoothly and that there's no trouble.”“Still, I really appreciate it.” I smiled, taking the papers and going through them one last time. “I'
ALEXIS POV“Child.” Mother's voice echoed in my ears, but I was too numb to move. My eyes stared dazedly at the flower pot by the window, my lips moving without forming proper words. “It's been weeks. You have to move on.”I felt her hand wrap around mine, her body trembling slightly. Mother had su
XAVIER“N-no.” She shook her head, denial in her eyes. “This must be a joke. I can feel it. My baby is alive. I'm sure she's in the nursery.”“Child, the doctor is telling the truth—” her mother tried to hold her, but she snapped.“Not you too, mother! Not you! I know my baby isn't gone! She can't
ALEXIS'S POVI woke up before the first light of dawn crept into the sky, my lower back was already screaming in protest. At seven months pregnant, every time I moved, it felt like I was doing a chore, but I still forced myself out of bed. At this time everyone else was still asleep.I rubbed my s
