Damien called Ron on his way out.

"Did you find her?" Ron asked on the other side of the phone.

"The only Cara who lives in this building is dead, it's not my Cara," Damian sighed heavily, his voice cracked as he tried to hide his emotions.

"Search the country a second time, don't miss out any details," he said.

"Right on it," Ron said and hung up. A pang of guilt ripped right through his chest, Damian held his chest and sat down on a nearby bench in the park.

"If only I had trusted you, if only I had not let my anger cloud my judgement. How can I ever make it up to you?" He let out a silent wail as his heart cried. He remembered Rafael's warning and yet he fucking trusted a picture over his wife.
