THALIA’S POV

I stood there in the dark corner, completely stunned. The words hung heavily in the air between us, making my chest tighten all over again.

“Are you sure, Eileen?” I whispered, my voice shaking as I stared at her. “Are you absolutely sure about what you saw?”

Eileen nodded quickly, her grip tightening on my arm. “Yes, I am sure. You need to come with me right now. Hurry.”

I immediately stood up, ignoring the sharp ache in my injured hand and the throbbing headache behind my eyes.

THALIA’S POVBefore I could even ask Jamie how he knew we were down here, a sharp echo of shouting and running boots bounced down the corridor. The guards were already coming back.“Move, now.” Jamie hissed, shoving Ragnar and Caleb toward the exit. “I’ll stall them. Go.”We didn't waste a second. We slipped out of the underground cemetery, keeping low and moving through the shadows until we burst out into the crisp morning air at the very back of the academy grounds.Eileen let out a long, ragged breath, leaning against the stone wall. “God, I am starving,” she muttered.I stared at her, completely bewildered, but honestly, I didn't even have the energy to comment on her appetite. My mind was completely fried. I just wanted a single moment where I didn't have to think about the shapeshifters, the dead bodies, or the massive target on my back.“We aren't safe yet,” Ragnar said, his voice dropping to a low octave. He looked between Caleb and me. “We have to find the three students and

THALIA’S POV“Who the hell locked us in here?” Eileen’s voice echoed against the damp stone walls, shaking with fear.I didn't answer right away. I stared at the huge iron doors of the underground cemetery, my mind spinning. “I don't know,” I whispered, rubbing my arms because it was freezing down here.I was so confused. Whoever locked that door either knew about the dead bodies of the missing students behind us, or they just saw the forbidden door open and wanted to get whoever was inside into trouble. It could be a guard. It could be Devon, or someone else who hated us. It could even be one of the shapeshifters. But as the hours ticked by, who locked the door mattered less to me. A much bigger question took over my mind. Why were the shapeshifters still here?If they were strong enough to sneak into the school, kill students, and take their places, why hadn't they left? Why weren't they out searching for the other half of the moonclaw? Why were they just staying here, pretending

RAGNAR’S POVCaleb’s question didn't catch me off guard. Deep down, the exact same terrifying thought had been clawing at the back of my mind ever since that red-haired bastard pinned me to the dirt.“I'm not certain,” I told Caleb, my voice tight. I forced myself to take a slow breath, setting my grievances against him aside for the first time. The jealousy and the anger didn't matter anymore. Not when Thalia was out there in danger. “But if we want to find her and Eileen, we have to work together. We don't have a choice.”Caleb looked at me, his eyes dark with the same heavy worry that was suffocating me. He nodded once.It was already so late, and the silence of the curfew hours made the dread feel even heavier. We couldn't just sit in our room and do nothing. We had to find them.First, we sneaked out of our room, keeping low and avoiding the main corridors until we reached Eileen’s private dorm. My heart hammered against my ribs as Caleb pushed the door open. I stepped inside,

CALEB’S POVWhen I told Ragnar that Thalia and Eileen were missing, I watched him closely. I noticed the obvious shift in his posture. It was a flicker of pure alarm but it disappeared almost instantly, masked by his stubborn pride.Instead of showing his worry, Ragnar shoved past me hard, his shoulder slamming into mine. “I don't care,” he muttered coldly, walking away. “She can do whatever she wants.”I knew he was bluffing. His wolf instincts wouldn't let him just ignore her disappearance, no matter how angry he pretended to be. Before I could call him out on it, a strange, prickling sensation hit the back of my neck. It felt exactly like someone was watching me. I slowly turned my head, scanning the lingering crowd in the arena, and sure enough, I caught the red-haired boy looking directly at me. He was standing near the exit, his eyes locked onto mine. I frowned, focusing on his energy. His aura was strangely, unnaturally strong. It didn't make sense. This was supposed to be t

RAGNAR’S POVWhen I told Thalia I was done with her and the whole plan, I had truly meant it.I was completely exhausted. I had tried absolutely everything to make her see that I was on her side and that I wanted to help her, but she just kept pushing me away. She didn't trust me anymore, and I hated it. I hated how she looked at me with so much suspicion. I knew it had something to do with Caleb but I had asked her so many times to tell me what I did wrong. Instead of the truth, all I got were vague answers and that pissed me off more than anything. For goodness sake, she was my mate. And yet, she let Caleb hold and kiss her like she was his. She completely disregarded my feelings and that hurt more than anything. And just this morning in the corridor, she had acted like she was the only person in the entire world who had problems.I didn't come to this academy for fun. I came here to save my pack, to keep my people from dying, but she couldn't see that at all. She was completely

We moved quietly through the dark hallways of the academy, keeping our steps completely silent. Eileen led the way, glancing around every corner to make sure the coast was clear. Finally, we reached the corridor outside the Headmaster’s chambers. We hid behind a large stone pillar, staying deep in the shadows.Just a few seconds later, the heavy wooden door opened. A student walked out from the chambers, closing the door softly behind him.I leaned forward slightly to get a better look, and my
