They knew that they had been in the cabin for at least a few months even though it had only seemed like a few days to them. They also knew that there were other things that were going on they had to address in the outside world. Sometimes they have thought of it and they have brought it up in many council meetings with the simple fact was that nobody had actually ever thought that they could get all the different factions together.
